Disappointing decline from once great medical practice

We've been loyal patients for nearly a decade, and when we first started, the practice was exceptional. Sadly, their quality has drastically declined over time. Communicating with them has become incredibly frustrating, and scheduling an appointment is now a major challenge. When my daughter was experiencing severe abdominal discomfort, they offered nothing more than a telephone consultation a full week later. Their approach is completely impersonal, and it's painfully clear they have no genuine interest in patient care or well-being.

Waste of time and energy for ear wax removal

I consulted a general practitioner (whose name I'll withhold) and was instructed to schedule a nurse appointment for ear wax removal for my 7-year-old son. I arranged this through the receptionist. We endured a three-week wait for the appointment. I sacrificed half a workday, pulled my son from school, and arrived for our slot, which was already delayed. Upon seeing the nurse, we were abruptly informed that my son was too young for the procedure, and she would not perform it. Incredibly frustrating that neither the GP nor the receptionist had clarified this beforehand, and no one thought to cancel the appointment proactively, saving us unnecessary time and effort. I requested a referral to an ENT specialist for a private consultation, given the ongoing discomfort for my child. The nurse assured me a referral letter would be sent promptly. After prolonged waiting and no communication, I contacted the practice, only to be told I must either book another GP appointment online or complete a referral request form on their website. This entire experience has been remarkably unprofessional and deeply unsatisfactory from a healthcare perspective.

Incredibly, a corrective procedure was scheduled almost immediately after registering! This was undoubtedly the most rapid and efficient healthcare experience I've encountered within the NHS. Their digital booking platform is user-friendly and intuitive, with a convenient check-in screen upon arrival. The waiting area is spacious, well-designed, and comfortable. Dr. Polomcic was outstanding - compassionate, highly professional, and exceptional at communicating complex medical information. Her commitment to patient care is evident through her consistent follow-ups and proactive approach to monitoring patient progress. Truly exceptional service!

Disappointing vaccine appointment with zero backup plan

Terrible experience with their healthcare service. A vaccine appointment was abruptly canceled due to a nurse's illness - which I get - but the general practice offered zero alternative solutions. This came after waiting an incredibly long three to four months for this single slot. It's incredibly aggravating, especially considering not everyone has the financial means to secure vaccines through private channels!

Terrible service putting my child's health at serious risk

We've been with this GP practice since 2016, but the service quality has dramatically declined recently. It's nearly impossible to secure appointments, even for urgent pediatric situations. The reception staff consistently redirect us to online forms, expecting a callback from the GP. Recently, we were sent back from Kingston hospital's Emergency Ward with instructions to show our 8-year-old daughter's ECG report to our GP and request continuous 24-hour monitoring due to her critical condition. Her pulse is reaching 140, she's experiencing severe chest pain, constant shivering, and recurring breathing difficulties. We're extremely concerned, yet the GP is proposing an appointment a week from now - is this a serious approach to healthcare? With no viable alternatives, we're forced to return to A&E or seek private medical care. This situation completely undermines the purpose of being registered with this GP practice.

Terrible reception staff ruin good medical practice

After relocating to this medical practice from another borough where I previously received excellent service, I've consistently encountered discourteous reception staff. When attempting to register online, my details remained unfindable for an extended period, with the receptionist placing blame on me. My request for registration assistance was flatly denied, and despite being told I'd receive a response within a week, I heard nothing after several weeks. Upon returning to the surgery, I was again informed that I couldn't be located in their system. Although I'm now a registered patient, I can confirm the doctors are exceptionally compassionate and always strive to provide the best possible care. Conversely, the reception staff demonstrate appalling behavior - I've personally witnessed receptionists verbally attacking patients seeking help, speaking to them in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. I sincerely hope the reception staff will improve their interpersonal skills and adopt a more empathetic approach. Had their conduct been more professional, my review would have been significantly more positive. (2 Stars, solely due to the outstanding medical professionals)

This medical practice boasts the most inept and unaccommodating front desk staff and physicians I have ever encountered. I strongly advise steering clear of this surgery, particularly if you are a woman. Their recently implemented triage process is the final straw, making it impossible to schedule urgent appointments, with rude and condescending receptionists offering zero assistance when you call.

Although I've only been a patient at Claremont for a short time, I can confidently say this is among the finest medical practices I've encountered. The reception staff are consistently helpful and responsive to any questions I raise. Dr Kate Williams is truly exceptional - her level of patient care is remarkable, and she consistently demonstrates genuine compassion and dedication. The nursing team is equally impressive. During a recent blood test in January, when I was experiencing a mental health crisis, the nurse took time to ensure my well-being despite the busy environment, providing tremendous emotional support. I cannot fault this practice in any way, and the leadership team should feel incredibly proud of the care they provide! 👏❤️

Much appreciated :) I was instructed to follow up on a referral initiated by the administrative staff, and I've repeatedly inquired about the specific medical facility involved. However, no one has been able to assist me. For five months, I've been engaged in a frustrating back-and-forth communication. When I requested to speak with the physician currently on shift, my request was summarily rejected.

Exceptional care when you need it most

I've been receiving care at Claremont Medical Centre for quite some time, and they've consistently demonstrated exceptional support. Today, they truly surpassed my expectations. During my father-in-law's Christmas visit, he required emergency room treatment. Upon discharge, a cannula was inadvertently left in his arm. Instead of subjecting him to a prolonged wait in A&E, Claremont promptly registered him as a temporary patient and treated him within an hour to remove the cannula. I am immensely grateful for their assistance. Their service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly compassionate and went out of their way to provide help. Their willingness to assist was truly remarkable.
