Endless referral runaround with awful communication

Absolutely dreadful. Completely unacceptable. The general practitioners at this clinic show zero empathy. The hospital directs me to the GP, who then bounces me back to the hospital. Managing a chronic autoimmune condition becomes an absolute ordeal. They exclusively offer telephone consultations, which might be acceptable if their communication infrastructure wasn't so abysmal. Their audio quality is so poor that conversation becomes impossible, sounding like they're communicating from underground. Their attitude is utterly indifferent and contemptuous. The hospital should not be compensating for their incompetence. Medical practices like these are precisely why our healthcare system is in such a catastrophic state.

Long wait and zero help

Spent 2 hours waiting on hold only to be redirected to 111. Be warned that you'll likely waste at least an hour attempting to schedule an appointment. My daughter suffered from a urinary tract infection and couldn't secure a same-day consultation, being instructed to contact 111. Upon calling 111, we were advised to contact the surgery with a referral, which she did. She was promised a telephone consultation with a doctor. Predictably, no call was ever made or returned. When we physically visited on Monday, an older receptionist dramatically rolled her eyes and claimed no record existed of my daughter's previous call, stating no appointment would be available for over a week. I emphasized her urgent medical condition, to which she dismissively suggested going to A&E. Consider this a warning if you're contemplating registering with this practice. It's unquestionably not the finest medical surgery, so thoroughly research your options beforehand. The receptionist I encountered was spectacularly unhelpful - rude, unsympathetic, and her body language spoke volumes. Ultimately, we were forced to obtain medication from Asda Pharmacy at double the cost of an NHS prescription, simply because they failed to provide the basic service we financially support through our taxes.

Endless wait for a simple prescription call

Getting an appointment here is a nightmare. They won't let you book ahead - you're forced to call on the same day. When you ring at 8am, you're immediately told you're 19th in line, and after an excruciating hour of waiting, reception finally picks up just to inform you that all slots are gone for the day and you should try again tomorrow. I persisted for six consecutive days before throwing in the towel. Their system is completely unacceptable. I burned an entire day off work, sitting around waiting for a potential callback about a simple repeat prescription, and not a single call came through - not even a missed call. Absolutely frustrating and inefficient.

Forgotten and ignored at reception desk

Absolutely deteriorated in quality. My high blood pressure check-up turned into a nightmare of waiting over an hour in reception, with the doctor seemingly forgetting my existence. The front desk staff showed complete indifference, despite my repeated reminders about waiting and their promise of a doctor's call. No call ever came, and when I followed up, I was rescheduled four days later without any apology or explanation. The reception staff's rudeness is unbearable, and the nurse was equally unhelpful, refusing to even share my blood pressure reading when asked. I've ultimately switched medical practices due to the abysmal service and their infuriating answering machine message that drones on with an endless list of prohibitions.

Securing an appointment here is a nightmare. You're unable to schedule in advance and must call on the same day. Starting at 8am, you'll find yourself 19th in line, and after waiting around 40 minutes for reception to pick up, they'll inform you that all slots for the day are gone, suggesting you try again tomorrow. After four consecutive days of this frustrating process, I ultimately resorted to visiting the walk-in centre. This approach is completely unacceptable. The booking system is incredibly inefficient, and I'm genuinely perplexed about how vulnerable groups like the elderly and parents with young children are supposed to manage such a challenging process.

Worried sick after out-of-hours chest x-ray

I received a new prescription during an after-hours appointment with a compassionate doctor who attentively listened to my symptoms and referred me for a chest X-ray. Last week, I was contacted about the results, which was unusual since GP surgeries typically don't reach out for normal findings. Normally, they would simply mention repeating the X-ray or note some scarring with a recommendation to follow up in 12 months. Instead, I was asked to book a GP appointment, which left me anxious for days. I kept my phone close throughout my night shifts, anticipating a call. Eventually, I received another message stating the GP couldn't reach me and wanted to schedule an appointment for the following week. It's absolutely frustrating! This approach doesn't feel like genuine patient care or individual attention.

Quick help after frustrating phone call

This morning I experienced frustration with the phone system disconnecting my call. However, after submitting an E-consult, I was promptly contacted by admin within 30 minutes and then by the GP 15 minutes later, who sent my prescription directly to the pharmacy. The service was truly outstanding. The staff were empathetic, composed, and solution-oriented throughout the entire process. Much appreciation for their help.
