Nightmare Booking an Appointment at This Surgery
Securing an appointment is an incredibly challenging and anxiety-inducing ordeal. The process involves an utterly futile waiting game that drags on for weeks, and if fortune smiles upon you, you might eventually be granted an appointment when it was glaringly obvious from the start that you needed medical attention. The ability to pre-book appointments, which was once standard practice before the pandemic, has mysteriously vanished. Instead, you're forced to repeatedly endure the nerve-wracking process of calling repeatedly. The entire system operates solely for the clinic's convenience, requiring you to be on standby all day for a potential call, and then expecting you to instantly materialize at the surgery within moments' notice, or else restart the entire exhausting process. The level of service is nothing short of abysmal.

Worst Surgery Experience: Months of Runaround
This surgery could not be more incompetent if it deliberately tried to be. Three months to secure an appointment, and on the scheduled day, the receptionist abruptly cancelled via telephone, claiming 'staff illness', promising to call back the next day to reschedule. After three days of silence, I initiated contact, only to find them completely unapologetic about their lack of communication. They then proposed an alternative appointment approximately two months later - effectively extending the total waiting period to around five months for accessing basic medical care. The receptionist dismissively labeled my case 'non-urgent', based on an allegedly illegal telephone consultation conducted by an unqualified non-clinician who failed to properly listen to my symptoms. When challenged, the surgery denied this consultation occurred and conveniently claimed all related records had vanished, despite our possession of phone records proving their initial contact. We formally requested the name and registration details of the individual who inappropriately diagnosed patients, a request which the surgery has systematically ignored. The receptionists consistently demonstrate rudeness and condescension, displaying an arrogant attitude that seems to derive perverse satisfaction from obstructing patient access to medical professionals. Given our ongoing denial of medical care, we are left with no alternative but to file a formal complaint with the CQC.

Impossible to get a proper consultation at this medical practice, as they constantly redirect patients to e-consultations. While this might work for minor issues, it's completely ineffective when you genuinely need to see a physician in person. My recommendation? Dismissive Receptionist Ignored My Cancer History
I called to schedule a doctor's appointment regarding a persistent digestive issue requiring medical attention. The receptionist informed me that my symptoms did not qualify as urgent, leaving me with the option of completing a form or waiting three weeks for a phone consultation. Upon mentioning my previous lymphoma diagnosis and expressing concern about potential related symptoms, she dismissively responded, "That's not really a gut condition, is it?"... She was undoubtedly the most condescending individual I've encountered, having already decided my condition was irrelevant despite possessing zero medical credentials to make such a judgment. This represents the most damning evidence of the NHS's current decline, where patients are now subject to the whims of an ignorant and apathetic gatekeeper who arbitrarily determines our worthiness for medical care. It is absolutely and completely outrageous, and you should be thoroughly ashamed of allowing the situation to deteriorate to this extent. I genuinely fear how many individuals are being denied basic healthcare due to catastrophically poor management and the unchecked arrogance of these self-appointed medical "experts". Shame on you.

Judy's amazing, but staff shortage is a concern
There are numerous positive aspects to this medical practice, including straightforward prescription ordering, an in-house pharmacy, convenient parking, and most of the staff are excellent. I've had some truly wonderful interactions with them. A special acknowledgment goes to Judy, who is consistently outstanding during every encounter. However, on the negative side, the team is quite limited, and it now seems there's only a single provider available for specific appointments like diabetes consultations or cervical screenings. Regrettably, this means that after nearly two decades of being their patient, I feel compelled to transition to a larger surgery with more practitioner options. Update 03/22: they have now expanded their cervical screening staff.
