Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience at this practice, with significant divergence between clinical care quality and access to appointments. The clinical team and reception staff receive consistent praise for professionalism, courtesy, and supportive care. Patients describe the clinical staff as excellent and the reception team as welcoming and helpful, with many noting the friendly atmosphere and genuine commitment to patient support.
However, appointment availability emerges as a dominant concern across numerous reviews. Patients report persistent difficulty securing appointments, with phone lines frequently congested and same-day booking systems resulting in rapid slot depletion. Many describe calling at opening times only to be told no appointments are available, with suggestions to try again the following day. This pattern has prompted some patients to seek care through alternative services such as walk-in centres and emergency departments. Additionally, some patients report experiencing dismissive communication when raising concerns about access, and a few note inconsistency in care continuity when seeing different clinicians.
While some recent feedback indicates improved experiences with responsive telephone consultations and prompt clinical callbacks, the booking experience remains a significant barrier for many patients. The practice would benefit from reviewing its appointment system and access procedures to better align service delivery with patient needs.

Couldn't get an appointment after weeks of calling
I would advise against using this practice. I have been attempting to secure an appointment by calling repeatedly over a two-week period without success.

Constantly changing appointments without continuity
I have found this practice to be deeply disappointing. My father has been unwell for an extended period, and I feel the care provided has been inadequate. Appointments have been inconsistent, with different staff members seen each time, which has disrupted continuity of care. I believe the practice has not demonstrated sufficient commitment to his wellbeing. I am very dissatisfied with the level of attention given and feel the service falls short of what should be expected from a medical practice.

Telephone triage system works well here
The practice operates effectively within their available resources and the services they are permitted to provide. The telephone assessment system functions well, and when deemed necessary, face-to-face appointments are arranged accordingly. The team members are approachable and helpful throughout. Grateful for the support provided during challenging times. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Impossible to reach by phone for appointments
Accessing appointments at this medical centre has proven extremely challenging. Over a two-week period, I attempted to contact them daily during their opening hours, only to find the phone line consistently busy. When I finally did reach someone, I was informed that available slots had already been allocated. This experience was deeply frustrating. It appears the practice may be struggling with their telephone system or call handling procedures. I believe the entire team should review their appointment booking processes, as the current service falls significantly short of acceptable standards.

Online booking made it quick and easy
Excellent healthcare facility with top-tier service I have been fortunate throughout my life and have rarely needed to visit medical professionals. However, I made use of the remote consultation service that is available on two separate occasions within a single month. The experience was outstanding. I am grateful to the entire team for their helpful support, which was remarkably prompt and well-organised.

Reception staff seemed confused and unhelpful
I would rate this practice much lower if possible. The service fell short of expectations, and the reception staff seemed unclear about procedures on several occasions. I cannot recommend this practice to others.

Reception phone queue too long for appointments
This surgery has not met our expectations. We experienced lengthy delays when attempting to contact reception, only to be informed that no appointments were available. When we visited seeking assistance for a skin concern affecting our child, the facility appeared to have capacity, yet we were directed elsewhere for care. Additionally, my wife has been managing an ongoing arm issue and has diabetes, but has been unable to secure an appointment for herself either.

Got hung up on while queuing for appointments
A really disappointing experience. I arrived early in the morning only to have my call disconnected unexpectedly. The reason given was that all available slots for that day were fully booked. I wasn't actually seeking an appointment for that same day, as I'm happy to be flexible with timing. However, when I attempted to arrange something further ahead during business hours, I was informed that booking appointments several weeks in advance wasn't possible. I feel for those who genuinely require urgent access to care - I've encountered similar difficulties with this practice previously and find the whole process quite frustrating.

Phone lines repeatedly cut off without answer
Poor experience at this practice. Attempted to reach the surgery multiple times in the morning, but calls were answered and disconnected immediately. This pattern of handling incoming calls is frustrating. When concerns about accessibility are raised, the response appears to be that patients are being difficult. Overall, this visit left me very dissatisfied with the service provided.

Prescribed unnecessary medication to my baby
I found this experience unhelpful as medication was prescribed for my young child that I felt was unnecessary, and it resulted in my child becoming unwell. I would recommend considering other options.

Quick phone resolution and helpful reception staff
Outstanding service, among the finest in the area. Truly invaluable. The team here genuinely assists you, so disregard any unfavourable feedback. I contacted early in the morning and received a resolution within minutes. The front desk personnel were exceptionally helpful. Please continue the excellent work. Thank you so much for your support and assistance.

Appointment system leaves elderly patients struggling
I have been a patient at this practice for many years and have noticed a significant decline in the service provided. Appointment availability appears extremely limited, with the booking system often showing no slots available shortly after opening, leaving patients with lengthy waiting lists. The current system seems poorly designed for older patients, and the overall experience of attempting to access medical consultation when unwell is deeply frustrating. It is understandable that emergency departments experience high demand, as patients may resort to attending there when they are unable to obtain timely GP appointments or when their health concerns have worsened due to delays in care. The practice would benefit from urgent improvements to its appointment and access systems.

Didn't understand my mental health needs
I had a very negative experience with this practice regarding mental health support. I felt the doctors lacked understanding of my needs and were unable to provide the help I required. I have since moved to another practice where I feel much better supported and understood.

Struggling to book appointments and get prescriptions
The service has declined noticeably over recent years. Getting an appointment has become increasingly difficult, and when one is secured, consultations are typically conducted by telephone rather than in person. Sometimes these calls are not with a clinician. The prescription request process has changed significantly. Despite having a dedicated team and phone option available, requests must now be submitted by email instead. The quality of interactions varies depending on which staff member you interact with. Some interactions leave you feeling judged for contacting the practice, as though there is a dismissive attitude towards patients seeking help.

Impossible to book appointments at this surgery
I would rate this experience far lower if possible. Securing an appointment proves extremely difficult, even when attempting to book first thing in the morning. When contact is finally established, patients are being directed to various medical facilities across the city, where practitioners lack familiarity with individual patients or their medical backgrounds. The practice is located on Beverley Road, yet this approach seems counterintuitive to receiving continuity of care. Additionally, the surgery is currently recruiting new patients, which raises questions about prioritising existing patient care. There is a clear desire for improved access and the ability to see healthcare professionals based at the actual practice location.

Impossible to get appointments despite calling at nine
The service provided has been deeply disappointing. The appointment system requires calling at 9am, yet regardless of when you attempt to book—whether at 9am or earlier—you consistently receive the response that no further appointments are available and you must try again the following day. This cycle has repeated numerous times, and I have kept track of how many consecutive days this has occurred. This ongoing difficulty has forced me to rely heavily on alternative services such as 111 and accident and emergency departments. After experiencing this situation repeatedly over four consecutive days, I felt compelled to initiate a formal complaint. I have ultimately decided to leave the practice after approximately 15 years of being a patient there. Beyond the appointment access issues, I have found the manner in which consultations are conducted to be unacceptable. During my most recent visit, when I expressed dissatisfaction with the standard advice being offered, the response included a suggestion about private healthcare and comments regarding waiting lists that I found to be dismissive and unhelpful.

Quick callback after getting through on the phone
I'm genuinely sorry to hear that others have struggled with accessing appointments - and I've also found it challenging to get through and secure a slot myself. However, I've recently had a really encouraging experience. I received a text message letting me know I needed to arrange an annual medication review. When I called one morning, I heard an automated message indicating that all available slots for that day had been filled - which I actually found useful as it meant I didn't need to wait on hold indefinitely. I tried calling again on a different day at 8am and managed to reach the fourth position in the queue, so I was able to speak with a reception team member within about a minute. They informed me that a clinician would contact me later that same day. The GP called me back within roughly 40 minutes. They were exceptionally detailed in their approach, gave proper consideration to all my concerns, and ensured I felt genuinely included in decisions regarding my own healthcare. I do believe it would be beneficial if some appointments could be booked in advance rather than being available only on a same-day basis. I also think it would be valuable to receive an estimated timeframe for when the GP might call back. I recognise that general practice is under considerable strain across the country right now, and I'd like to express my appreciation to all the team members for their dedication and commitment to delivering care to patients during these particularly demanding circumstances.
