Terrible service with no hope for patients

Forced to award a single star, though this establishment certainly doesn't merit even that rating. While the Conservatives bear responsibility for the NHS's condition, this practice does little to improve matters. Upon joining in 2013 (pre-Aston merger), this was an excellent GP practice with a dedicated doctor accessible for quick consultations, who would arrange calls to discuss symptoms when appointments were unavailable. Nine years later, I'm uncertain of my assigned doctor. Despite multiple health concerns, including bowel-related issues, every attempt to consult a physician results in being redirected to a Walk-in centre staffed exclusively by nurses. My disabled son's potential medical emergencies fill me with complete despair regarding obtaining timely GP support. They cite staffing shortages, yet they've deliberately understaffed with merely two doctors managing their entire patient population - essentially engineering their own failure while expecting sympathy, which won't be forthcoming. Currently experiencing significant pain, I've been on hold for thirty minutes and anticipate being told no appointments are available. I'm committed to escalating this matter through local media, my parliamentary representative, and any willing listener. Update - After reaching fifth in the queue, they disconnected my call. Their automated system now prevents me from even registering a complaint. An utterly unacceptable and laughable service. Completely deplorable.

Understaffed clinic struggles with patient care needs

I've been a patient here for years without issues, but things changed two years ago. Securing an appointment has become incredibly challenging, especially if you're not able to do an online consultation. The receptionists are wonderful and helpful, yet they're limited in what they can do. The nurses are competent as well. The walk-in center has become my sole option since there are no available appointments for four days, which is far from ideal when you're experiencing pain and need urgent medical attention. I sincerely hope the GP service will recruit additional doctors to match the patient load, as the current staff are clearly overwhelmed and stretched thin. I cannot complete an e-consultation as previously suggested because I lack internet access and do not have a broadband subscription or computer. While I am familiar with email and online processes, the assumption that everyone has internet and computer access is remarkable. Not everyone has such privileges. I want to clarify that my original review was meant to be supportive, not critical, and I used a borrowed phone with data roaming to submit this feedback, for those eager to question the circumstances.

Impossible to get a doctor's appointment here

Trying to secure a medical consultation at this practice seems impossible. I've been persistently calling every morning for more than a month, and on the rare occasions I actually get through, I'm simply informed all slots are filled and advised to go to the emergency department. Standing in line outside early in the morning, alongside patients who've been waiting since dawn, I'm still denied an appointment. Despite not requiring urgent care, I'm unable to schedule a future consultation. Their electronic consultation and triage system is perpetually non-functional. This is truly the most frustrating medical practice imaginable.

Frustrating nhs appointment system wastes precious time

I initiated contact using two different phones to schedule an appointment, and after persistent calling, I finally entered the queue at 8:03. After waiting 15 minutes, which stretched to a total of 1 hour and 5 minutes, I was informed that no appointments were available today (Friday). I find this completely incomprehensible and frustrating. As a heart patient with a pacemaker, this experience is unacceptable. I am deeply dissatisfied with this NHS system and intend to escalate this matter to the health secretary. They need to address these systemic failures immediately. The whole situation is utterly ridiculous and unbelievable.

Gp practice makes great strides in patient care

I've noticed significant enhancements in the GP's performance recently. They've become considerably more streamlined. Whenever I've reached out, I've successfully secured an appointment, even if it's currently limited to phone consultations - which seems to be the current standard. The reception staff have also undergone a remarkable transformation, displaying exceptional helpfulness and providing as much guidance as possible. I believe they now merit a perfect rating for their dedication and continuous progress. My recommendation would be to reinstate online e-consultations and increase face-to-face appointment availability 👍

Terrible clinic fails vulnerable patient with mental health

I reached out to this medical facility today regarding my brother, who struggles with mental health and had run out of essential medication! I encountered an extremely unhelpful receptionist who claimed the clinic manager would call me back since she was covering another location, but no return call ever came. I detailed how my brother, for whom seeking help is incredibly challenging, had attempted to contact and visit the clinic, only to be dismissed and sent away without medication, which will likely worsen his condition. I consulted the crisis team, who emphasized that a patient with my brother's medical background should never be denied medication and advised me to relay this information once the clinic manager contacted me. I received a mysterious phone call that was immediately terminated upon my answering. My brother had been making significant progress, but now he's been set back completely due to this practice's shocking lack of compassion and professional responsibility!

Frustrating gp service leaves patient desperate for help

I'm utterly frustrated with this general practitioner's office. For three consecutive days, I've been struggling to get through on the phone, enduring lengthy wait times. Today, I waited for two hours because I urgently need medical attention following my recent hospitalization at Whiston. As per medical instructions, I require a doctor to examine me, review my condition, and continue my medication. I've been attempting to secure an appointment for a week, and all I receive is a repetitive "call back tomorrow at 8 am" response. This GP's service is truly subpar. Since moving to the area, I've experienced a significant decline in healthcare accessibility. My previous GP offered an E-Consult service that dramatically improved efficiency. Unfortunately, this current practice seems stuck in the past and desperately needs to modernize to meet the growing community's healthcare needs.
