Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals a practice facing significant operational challenges, with appointment access and phone communication emerging as the most persistent concerns. Patients report extreme difficulty reaching the surgery by telephone, with many experiencing prolonged hold times, dropped calls, and being told repeatedly that no appointments are available. The booking experience is widely described as frustrating, with the online system frequently showing no available slots and reception staff directing callers to try again at 8am, only for the same response to occur. Prescription delays and poor responsiveness to patient needs are also common themes, with some patients waiting days longer than expected to collect medications.

Despite these systemic issues, the feedback is not uniformly negative. Several patients commend the medical professionals themselves for providing competent and caring clinical care, and some reception staff members are noted for their courtesy and helpfulness. A small number of patients report positive experiences with efficient service and supportive staff. However, these positive experiences appear to be exceptions rather than the norm, and many reviews highlight a disconnect between the quality of clinical care and the serious organisational and communication failures that prevent patients from accessing that care in the first place.

Bad!

Terrible service leaving patient without medical care

My significant other hadn't visited the general practitioner in around a year, with the clinic merely handling his prescription refills. When he phoned to request his medication be sent to the pharmacy, they informed him that he was no longer registered as a patient, which is absolutely appalling considering he's been with this surgery since birth. They didn't even bother to notify him, leaving him without a doctor and in urgent need of his mental health medication. I would absolutely not suggest this medical practice to anyone under any circumstances.

Terrible service and unhelpful staff at surgery

This GP surgery is hands down the most terrible medical practice I've encountered in all my years. The reception staff are utterly incompetent and shockingly unhelpful.

Terrible service and communication from medical staff

Completely enraged by the telephone manner of the medical staff!! The incredibly long wait times are absolutely unacceptable. My partner was forced to contact emergency services because we've attempted calling 94 times without success - it's an utter disgrace !!!!

Terrible medical experience with zero customer service

This has to be the most terrible medical procedure imaginable. I was stuck on hold for nearly a quarter of an hour, and they couldn't even schedule me an appointment.

Unreliable midwife leaves patient anxious and frustrated

As a patient with a high-risk pregnancy, I'm extremely frustrated. My midwife was absent on the day of my scheduled appointment, and despite multiple attempts to follow up, I've been waiting over a week for a callback to reschedule. Neither the surgery nor the midwife has made any effort to contact me, leaving me feeling neglected and anxious about my critical medical situation.

Disappointing sexual health clinic experience

The sexual health clinic proves to be completely ineffective. I inquired about permanent contraceptive methods, which are advertised on their website, only to be informed they don't actually handle such services. Another instance of taxpayer funds being squandered without delivering meaningful results.

Worst healthcare experience of my miserable life

Getting a consultation here is like waiting for a miracle. Once you somehow manage to secure a slot, the visit is so brief and perfunctory that you'll feel completely overlooked and no better off than when you arrived.

Nightmare healthcare experience at craig croft practice

I echo these sentiments, having nearly lost my life to their medical carelessness - the catalog of errors is seemingly endless. It was only after engaging the quality care commission that any semblance of improvement emerged, and even then, briefly. Fortunately, I've since discovered a competent medical practice and no longer must endure the chaos associated with Craig Croft.

Great!

Consistently great service at my trusted medical practice

I've been a patient at this medical practice for more than a decade, and I can genuinely say I've never encountered any issues. This morning, I reached out at 8 AM and requested a callback, which was promptly handled by a courteous and pleasant receptionist. They inquired if I would be willing to visit their Hurst Lane location for an in-person consultation, which I readily agreed to. By 10 AM, I was seen by the healthcare professional.

Poor!

Terrible doctor ruins otherwise good medical experience

Until recently, the medical care was satisfactory, save for two encounters with a specific physician. Dr. Bhatti demonstrates a severe lack of professional competence and empathy. He appears completely indifferent to patient welfare, with a callous approach that is deeply concerning. His conduct is so problematic that the practice would likely improve significantly if he were no longer part of the team.

Worst customer service ever for anxious patients

I'd give zero rating points if I could. Being an individual battling anxiety and experiencing phone conversations as challenging, their front desk staff desperately require improved interpersonal skills. The manner in which I was addressed today was absolutely appalling. Their level of disrespect is truly beyond comprehension.

This establishment is completely ridiculous. They claim you can schedule appointments at 8 AM, but when I actually call, there are consistently zero available slots. It's been like this for two entire weeks, with absolutely no openings in sight.

Worst medical centre ever disappointing patients

After being a patient for 7 years, I'm utterly appalled by this practice. It's been impossible to secure an appointment, without fail! I'm constantly forced to seek treatment at the alternative clinic due to Croft Medical Centre's utter incompetence. Let me be clear: they'll see you if there's a condition that generates payment for them. Otherwise, you're left high and dry. As long as they hit their financial targets, everything's peachy for them. They've bombarded me with calls about blood pressure checks and blood tests, but when I was genuinely unwell, they flatly denied me an appointment (no financial incentive, after all). They're the epitome of opportunistic healthcare providers. We should collectively raise our voices to the Care Quality Commission and lodge formal complaints, compelling them to finally improve their abysmal service.

Incredible care beyond my wildest expectations

I recently navigated the healthcare system for my Uncle, who has been unwell, through Croft Medical Centre in Birmingham. Initially, after scanning Google reviews, I braced myself for potential complications. Surprisingly, my experience was entirely different from what those online reviews suggested. The entire staff I interacted with were consistently courteous, professional, kind, and exceptionally helpful. Despite the complexity of my requests on my Uncle's behalf, each one was handled with remarkable efficiency and care. The level of support I received was beyond what I could have anticipated, and I am deeply appreciative of the genuine compassion shown to both my family and myself. I was fortunate to work directly with two outstanding staff members, Freya and Elaine, who not only met but significantly surpassed my expectations. My advice to others would be to form your own judgment rather than relying solely on online reviews. In my case, doing so revealed an outstanding medical practice that deserves recognition. Heartfelt thanks to everyone at Croft Surgery for their exceptional service.

Terrible service and lazy doctors ruin healthcare

If I could, I'd rate this zero stars. Their telephone communication is abysmal. Booking appointments at 8am is now a futile exercise. The scarcity of available slots is ridiculous. The front desk staff are dismissive and quick to redirect you to 111 or alternative clinics. On the rare occasions I've managed to secure a consultation, it's invariably a telephone call. The physicians have grown indolent and complacent, clinging to pandemic-era practices long after their relevance. The entire medical practice is a complete farce.
