Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals a practice facing significant operational challenges, with appointment access and phone communication emerging as the most persistent concerns. Patients report extreme difficulty reaching the surgery by telephone, with many experiencing prolonged hold times, dropped calls, and being told repeatedly that no appointments are available. The booking experience is widely described as frustrating, with the online system frequently showing no available slots and reception staff directing callers to try again at 8am, only for the same response to occur. Prescription delays and poor responsiveness to patient needs are also common themes, with some patients waiting days longer than expected to collect medications.

Despite these systemic issues, the feedback is not uniformly negative. Several patients commend the medical professionals themselves for providing competent and caring clinical care, and some reception staff members are noted for their courtesy and helpfulness. A small number of patients report positive experiences with efficient service and supportive staff. However, these positive experiences appear to be exceptions rather than the norm, and many reviews highlight a disconnect between the quality of clinical care and the serious organisational and communication failures that prevent patients from accessing that care in the first place.

Terrible service putting patients health at risk

Absolutely dreadful medical service. If you're a health worrier, constant complainer, or simply enjoy monopolizing a doctor's schedule, you'll have no trouble securing quick consultations. But if you genuinely need medical intervention for a serious condition, forget about it. I battled for a week attempting to secure an appointment for tonsillitis, which has now escalated to a severe peritonsillar abscess requiring surgical treatment at Heartlands Hospital. Thanks for nothing.

Terrible medical centre with zero patient care

After a decade of using this medical centre, my frustration has only intensified. It seems the staff harbor an inflated sense of self-importance. Astonishingly, securing a dental appointment has been more straightforward than seeing a doctor. During the Covid pandemic, I felt completely abandoned by this facility. They arbitrarily modify recurring prescriptions without any patient consultation. Steer clear. Steer clear. Steer clear.

Terrible medical care left me completely frustrated

I'm utterly disappointed with the medical care surrounding this surgical procedure. The physician dismissed my concerns and hung up on me. Consistently, their communication is impossible, with phone lines that are perpetually unreachable. Moreover, they display a shocking lack of concern about my prescription needs, leaving me without critical medication for a full three-day period.

Endless wait destroys hope for physiotherapy help

Absolutely impossible to make progress, and scheduling an appointment is a nightmare. I've been waiting for physiotherapy for more than three years following a road traffic accident. I've been taking pregabalin for such an extended period that I'm certain my internal organs must be severely compromised.

Frustrating phone system fails patients repeatedly

Completely unnavigable system. I've spent more than 30 minutes daily this week on hold, only to have the call dropped. My essential recurring prescription is at risk. The medical professionals themselves are excellent, but the surrounding administrative infrastructure is utterly dysfunctional.

Nightmare healthcare experience at local gp practice

I've reached my breaking point with this medical center. Securing an appointment is like attempting the impossible - it takes days and countless attempts just to reach a receptionist, and even then, there's no guarantee you'll actually get seen. The staff seems completely oblivious to their massive scheduling shortcomings. The entire process is utterly frustrating. I absolutely cannot suggest this practice to anyone under any circumstances.

Unprofessional doctor refuses appointment with angry outburst

I was denied my urgent face-to-face consultation today by Dr. Nick. I was challenged about not wearing a mask, and I explained that the mask triggers involuntary panic attacks and restricts my breathing. I desperately needed this appointment, which the medical staff were aware of, despite their limited patient interactions. Recognizing the importance of the consultation, I reluctantly agreed to wear a mask. After waiting outside due to COVID protocols, he returned with a mask. By this point, I had discreetly started recording on my phone. He demanded I wear the provided mask, claiming I wasn't exempt. When I asked why the mask was necessary given my medical exemption and mentioned I was recording, he erupted into a dramatic outburst, wildly gesturing and screaming that I couldn't record the conversation. (My phone was safely in my bag, and I remained calm throughout.) I chose to ignore his aggressive behavior and approached the reception. They informed me that Dr. Nick refused to see me but offered an alternative appointment with another physician the next morning. Meanwhile, he stood beside me, mockingly laughing and sneering at every word I spoke to the staff. Even other patients were bewildered by his unprofessional conduct. This entire incident stemmed from Dr. Nick's inability to handle questioning. Once he realized I had recorded his response, he became defensive and threw a tantrum. His temperament was absolutely unacceptable, and I've never been treated so disrespectfully in my life. I intend to report this incident to the relevant authorities using my recording. His behavior seems like a classic case of "small man syndrome." The reception staff appeared accustomed to his outbursts, continuing to engage with me professionally while he ranted about me leaving. I genuinely pity his partner. He's nothing more than a bully. I'll be sharing this footage with local media, as many have experienced similar verbal abuse from this practice. The NHS surely doesn't intentionally hire such unprofessional individuals. There are constructive ways to address disagreements, and this was not one of them.

Frustrating patient experience with unhelpful medical staff

I desperately want to consult with a doctor or have a meaningful conversation about my GPS situation. The receptionist is an impenetrable barrier, and I've been unable to secure an appointment for a staggering 14 consecutive days. Moreover, I've been registered with this practice as a new patient for more than two months, carrying multiple ongoing health concerns. The receptionists appear completely indifferent to my medical needs, though I suspect the GP might have a more compassionate perspective.

Terrible healthcare experience with unhelpful medical staff

Completely useless medical practice where I waited 45 minutes and plan to switch providers because the quality dropped dramatically after Dr. Pomeroy's passing. These incompetent staff ignored what I believed was a serious cardiac event and didn't respond to calls all day. They constantly use COVID as an excuse for their poor performance. Their phone system, online portal, and staff are all incredibly unhelpful and rude. The new building is supposedly state-of-the-art but feels like a complete failure. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this practice - find another doctor immediately to save yourself the frustration.

Terrible surgical experience, avoid at all costs. The front desk staff are incredibly unhelpful and disrespectful. Dr. Bosworth seems completely incompetent. My son has been suffering for three-quarters of a year with multiple health issues, and the medical team shows zero interest in investigating or tracking his condition. I've submitted formal complaints multiple times, and they've been completely ignored. This entire practice is a total embarrassment to healthcare.

Struggling to get midwife support amid mental health challenges

Been struggling with mental health challenges and desperately attempting to secure a midwife for months (despite feeling fetal movements and having a positive pregnancy test), yet still encountering zero progress. I understand times are tough, but this situation feels completely unacceptable. I'm deeply concerned that these delays will negatively impact my interactions with social services, given my previous history, which seems unfair both to me and my unborn child. I've even reached out via email to the medical center after they initially contacted me, only to be met with complete silence.

Worst medical practice ever experienced in my life

I've never encountered a more ineffective medical practice in my entire life. Appointments are incredibly difficult to secure, which is fortunate given how challenging the entire experience is! Since my husband and I work full-time and commute an hour each way, we find the surgery's hours completely impractical - it's closed both when we leave and return home. They suggest registering for online services, yet paradoxically require an in-person visit with ID to do so. How is that even possible when the surgery is perpetually shut? Some receptionists (thankfully not all) display an appalling lack of professionalism, with abysmal attitudes and zero interest in providing assistance. Were we not planning to relocate, we would have absolutely sought care elsewhere. A truly dreadful medical facility!

Frustrating gp practice with broken booking system

Booking an appointment with this general practitioner is an absolute nightmare. Our scheduling options are extremely limited, and their online booking system is completely dysfunctional. Every time we attempt to schedule, the system claims no available sessions are open. What's the point of having an online booking platform if it consistently fails? They should simply shut down this useless system. I strongly recommend patients steer clear of this medical practice.

Terrible service and endless waiting on hold

I've attempted to contact them by phone 4 separate times today, and each call was a frustrating experience. At 8am, I endured a 30-minute wait before hanging up. By 11am, I tolerated 23 minutes on hold and abandoned the call. At 1pm, I wasted another 20 minutes before giving up. Finally, at 3:30pm, I spent 35 minutes (with 20 minutes from my first attempt) and still couldn't reach anyone. Their customer service is completely unacceptable - it seems they're only interested in having people show up in person to register online for appointments. I strongly advise against trying to call them, as they demonstrate zero commitment to actually answering their phone lines.
