Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals a practice facing significant operational challenges, with appointment access and phone communication emerging as the most persistent concerns. Patients report extreme difficulty reaching the surgery by telephone, with many experiencing prolonged hold times, dropped calls, and being told repeatedly that no appointments are available. The booking experience is widely described as frustrating, with the online system frequently showing no available slots and reception staff directing callers to try again at 8am, only for the same response to occur. Prescription delays and poor responsiveness to patient needs are also common themes, with some patients waiting days longer than expected to collect medications.

Despite these systemic issues, the feedback is not uniformly negative. Several patients commend the medical professionals themselves for providing competent and caring clinical care, and some reception staff members are noted for their courtesy and helpfulness. A small number of patients report positive experiences with efficient service and supportive staff. However, these positive experiences appear to be exceptions rather than the norm, and many reviews highlight a disconnect between the quality of clinical care and the serious organisational and communication failures that prevent patients from accessing that care in the first place.

Unprofessional customer service ruins business experience

I attempted to schedule an appointment by phone, but received no answer. I then asked my father to visit the location in person to check if anyone would respond. Upon calling back, I still got no reply. My dad informed me that the staff were simply sitting around and chatting with each other. I'm now seeking information on where I can submit photos to report their unprofessional behavior.

Pharmacy service disappoints with repeated prescription failures

The pharmacy team consistently falls short in preparing repeat prescriptions promptly, with a frustrating 4-day wait for script collection. They repeatedly fail to provide all requested medications, and even a week after an online request, the missed medication remains unprocessed and not signed off by a physician. Once again, I'm being told to return after 5pm to collect the prescription, which is completely unacceptable. Obtaining necessary medication should not be this complicated and stressful.

Unacceptable medical care for elderly patient

Absolutely appalling medical care! These healthcare professionals made my elderly 71-year-old uncle wait an unacceptable 5 days to receive his medication. Normally, the maximum wait time should be 48 hours. What a complete joke of a healthcare system!

Terrible staff ruined my medical experience completely

I'm being incredibly lenient by awarding even one star, and that's solely out of respect for the medical professionals. The real issue lies with the front desk personnel, who are abrasive, offensive, and utterly unprofessional. Their callous attitude and lack of compassion could potentially lead to dire consequences for a patient, potentially risking someone's health or life.

Terrible medical care after cancer treatment nightmare

After completing my cancer treatment, I urgently needed a doctor's note to return to work with reduced hours. The initial consultation on 25/4/19 resulted in being told to call back on 08/05/19 for an appointment, which seemed ridiculous. When I inquired about potential appointment unavailability, I was advised to explain my situation to the receptionist. On 06/05/19, with no available appointments, I detailed my needs and was instructed to call back on 08/05/19. At that point, I was informed my request was with the doctor but could take up to 7 days to process. By 15/05/19, I still hadn't received the note, and even a hospital call couldn't expedite the process. The staff appears completely indifferent, seemingly only interested in getting me off the phone. Consequently, I'll be forced to return to full-time work, risking my recovery. I plan to inform the hospital about this situation, so they understand any potential future health complications. Their level of apathy is shocking - one could be critically ill, and they wouldn't show an ounce of concern. I'm certain they must be proud of their appalling service.

Worst medical practice ever with zero compassion

I would absolutely award zero stars if the option existed. For nearly four years, I've been on the same medication, classified as a vulnerable patient, but this practice seems to disregard that completely. Obtaining my medication is a constant battle. My repeat prescription has been arbitrarily canceled. They demand a doctor's review and insist on unnecessary blood tests when I'm not due for routine checks for two more months. Conversely, they refuse tests my psychiatrist recommends. When I'm working across the country and need a prescription, they deny it for being "too early" - just a week before my usual prescription date. I'm forced to go without medication, and they become difficult when I request my next dose upon returning. They're fully aware of the potential side effects of interrupting my medication but demonstrate zero concern for my suffering. Most recently, they blatantly lied about not receiving a letter from my psychiatrist. After checking for the FIFTH time, I discovered the letter arrived nearly three weeks ago, and they deliberately concealed this with no intention of providing my prescription. Now I'm compelled to navigate a complex process with my psychiatrist, despite the urgent nature of this medication. Frankly, you're better off checking into a hospital for medical care, as at least there you're guaranteed proper attention and treatment.

Terrible service that could have endangered my life

Called the medical practice after consulting 111, and despite being advised that an urgent appointment was necessary due to significant blood loss and anemia, they dismissed my concerns. They simply told me to come tomorrow at 8am to attempt scheduling an appointment, without even inquiring about the source of the bleeding or consulting a physician. I was left waiting on hold for quarter of an hour, and from my window, I could clearly see the empty waiting room and idle phone lines, which made 111's claim that I was being disregarded seem all too credible.

Anyone seeking a responsive and patient-centered medical practice should definitely look elsewhere.

Terrible healthcare service harming vulnerable patients

Absolute worst healthcare provider imaginable. They consistently ignore incoming calls. No preparedness for patient visits. Zero helpful advice or problem-solving. Even with a scheduled appointment, we endured a 60-minute waiting period. While they offer online booking, my elderly 75-year-old father cannot navigate their digital system, forcing him to surrender his remaining autonomy and depend on family assistance. This practice endangers vulnerable individuals. Their facility barely deserves a single star rating (and I'd give zero if possible). Completely unacceptable, revolting, and infuriating - and I've already voiced my formal complaints.

Terrible customer service and impossible to reach anyone

I got a letter requesting an appointment, but attempting to schedule it turned into a frustrating ordeal. After making six expensive phone calls, I was repeatedly met with a message stating that the staff are overwhelmed and unable to answer calls, advising me to call back later. I made multiple attempts between 12:45 and 4:30, with no success. This communication breakdown is completely unacceptable and desperately needs to be addressed.

Terrible service that worsened my chronic fatigue

INCOMPETENT - I placed a repeat prescription order with multiple items, most of which were processed correctly. After spending 25 frustrating minutes trying to reach them by phone, I was informed I needed to collect the final item directly from the practice. When I made the trip four days later, no prescription was available, and I was told to return the next day. This is incredibly infuriating. Living with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome means these unnecessary trips to the doctor's office are extremely taxing and debilitating. They seem completely oblivious to the impact their inefficiency has on patients like me.

Echoing a common complaint, reaching this medical practice by phone is an exercise in futility. Their standard response is either "Call back later.. Frustrating healthcare with moments of helpful support

I have mixed feelings about this practice. They've been supportive during critical times, but getting through on the phone is incredibly frustrating, and booking appointments seems impossible. My experience after leaving the hospital following a heart attack was particularly challenging. Obtaining medication was a nightmare, with reception staff claiming I'd already received a prescription, which wasn't true. I had hospital meds for two weeks and had submitted my discharge papers. I was constantly shuttling between the surgery and the chemist (interestingly, it was Sue at the chemist who initially raised concerns). When I returned to reception, they casually explained that the system date was the last issue date - which makes no sense. Why not include a start date? Attempting to get an appointment was ridiculous. They told me I wasn't on the emergency list and would have to go without heart medication for four days. Thankfully, I contacted the hospital, and they resolved the prescription issue quickly - which shouldn't have been so complicated. I'm also perplexed that despite having 5-6-7 doctors, the surgery often operates with just one doctor, frequently a locum. Their scheduling needs serious improvement. However, I must acknowledge that some staff are genuinely helpful and communicate clearly.
