Phone receptionist wouldn't pass urgent messages on
The telephone staff were quite rude, particularly one individual. They did not seem to listen to my concerns and appeared unwilling to relay messages to the doctor. When the doctor called regarding an urgent matter and I attempted to return the call, I was told to ring back on Monday instead, which felt dismissive given the urgency the doctor had indicated. This experience was frustrating and has happened on multiple occasions in the past. Due to these repeated interactions, I have decided not to continue attending this surgery while this staff member remains employed there.

I have found that contacting the surgery is best done through the NHS app by logging details of what needs to be discussed with the GP, rather than attempting to book a traditional appointment. Using this method, I have been able to connect with my GP. Since registering with this surgery two weeks ago, I have experienced significant difficulty accessing appointments. I made multiple call attempts on various days and times, but consistently encountered either engaged tones or voicemail. The appointment booking function on the website appears to be non-functional, and the NHS app shows no available slots. When I tried reaching out by email to explain my repeated unsuccessful attempts to call, I was directed back to telephone contact. This situation is concerning as my medication supply is diminishing. It seems questionable that the surgery continues to accept new patients when the current system appears unable to meet their healthcare needs promptly.

I found this surgery to be unreliable overall. The telephone line appears to be constantly busy throughout most working days from mid-morning onwards. Apart from one clinician who is no longer there, I felt the medical staff were not attentive to patient needs. The reception team, while polite, consistently informed me that appointments were unavailable, with suggested alternatives being months away. My experience with this practice over the past year has been quite poor. I experienced a severe allergic reaction lasting two weeks, during which I did not contact the surgery initially. When I eventually called to explain my distress, I did not receive a callback that day and had to attend an urgent care centre instead. Even after four weeks of ongoing symptoms and sleep disruption, when I finally secured an appointment, I was extremely let down by the care provided.

Reception blocked access to proper follow-up care
Following discharge from hospital, I was advised to attend a follow-up appointment for post-operative care. Unfortunately, the surgery failed to attend this appointment as scheduled. When I contacted them to rearrange, I was told to book a slot for the following week. Upon calling back to secure an appointment, I was directed to attend a walk-in centre instead, as they claimed to have no availability. However, I was not informed that the walk-in centres I visited were actually closed at that time. Given that I was recovering from a significant procedure, this experience was frustrating. I felt the administrative staff were unhelpful in resolving the situation. I am grateful to the hospital for stepping in and providing the care that should have been coordinated by the surgery.
