Initially, I was thoroughly impressed with the professional service and attentive care received during each visit, and I provided a glowing recommendation. Unfortunately, the subsequent years have witnessed a dramatic decline in service quality and GP accessibility. Obtaining appointments has become increasingly challenging, and the GP service has deteriorated, characterized by a noticeable lack of patient compassion and concern. Emails seeking advice and information go unanswered, while the practice seems more focused on peripheral health initiatives like smoking cessation and blood pressure management - remnants of the now-obsolete NHS QOF performance framework designed to boost GP compensation. Critically, no meaningful support or guidance has been provided to address genuine health concerns, despite repeated requests. This morning, I attempted to schedule a GP appointment, calling at 8:30 AM - the only viable time to secure a slot. After spending ten minutes on hold at my own expense, I finally reached a receptionist who informed me that no appointments were available today or tomorrow. The booking system has clearly changed, now restricting patient access compared to previous practices. When I was told I could only see a GP in a medical emergency, I found this suggestion absurd - in such a scenario, one would naturally proceed directly to the hospital. We have concluded that accessing reliable GP care now necessitates seeking a private practitioner - a frustrating prospect given the substantial contributions my husband and I have made to the healthcare system over many years. I strongly advise anyone considering registering with a surgery in Southport to avoid this practice. While the underlying issues may stem from governmental healthcare policies, the result remains consistent: inadequate, untimely access to competent medical services.

Incredible team at this practice. I've consulted with two different general practitioners. One I've visited frequently and who is truly outstanding. The nursing staff are compassionate as well. Admittedly, one nurse seemed a bit irritable, though it might have just been a challenging day for them.

Terrible pharmacy service ruins great doctor's practice

*Please read till the bottom, thank you* The medical practice is excellent, and the doctors are compassionate and genuinely concerned about their patients - I truly have no complaints about them. HOWEVER, the on-site pharmacy is absolutely terrible! The staff are discourteous and completely unhelpful. Obtaining a prescription can take an eternity, even for the simplest medications. They promise a one-hour turnaround, but when you arrive to collect, they look at you with contempt and claim it's not ready, suggesting you're too early and must now wait even longer. They then roll their eyes when you inquire about the completion time. My partner suffers from a serious medical condition requiring daily medication to manage symptoms. Last week, when he urgently needed his prescription, they assured him it would be ready by 6pm after he had called first thing in the morning. Upon arriving at 6pm and requesting his medication, the staff member rudely gestured to their watch, implying he was too late, and walked away - despite the fact they were technically open until 6:15pm. Even after my partner explained the critical nature of his medication, he was dismissively told to return the next morning with no guarantee of service. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE seek an alternative pharmacy if possible, as this one demonstrates complete indifference to patients' needs. Knowing full well my partner's condition and the consequences of missed medication, they still refused to assist him during their operating hours - it's absolutely appalling!
