Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment availability and phone access, with patients reporting lengthy waits of several weeks and difficulty reaching the practice by telephone. Reception experience emerges as a key concern, with multiple accounts of discourteous interactions and dismissive communication from front desk staff. However, the nursing team and medical professionals receive consistent praise for professionalism, compassion, and competent care when appointments are secured. The registration process has been noted as efficient in some cases, though administrative organisation appears inconsistent across patient experiences. Communication failures extend beyond reception to follow-up calls that are frequently delayed or never materialised, creating frustration for those with ongoing medical needs.

While some patients report recent improvements through alternative booking systems and eConsult services, the core issue of appointment access persists as a dominant theme. Several reviews highlight the contrast between quality clinical care and systemic barriers to receiving that care, with patients describing the morning booking process as chaotic and the overall experience as unnecessarily stressful. The practice appears to operate under capacity constraints that impact responsiveness and patient convenience, though individual staff members are frequently commended for their dedication and supportive approach when direct contact is achieved.

Tragic Delay Nearly Cost My Mum's Life

This medical practice is absolutely the most terrible I've encountered. The front desk staff act like they're medical professionals, inappropriately dispensing health guidance. Moreover, they're discourteous, inefficient, and thoroughly unprofessional. Securing an appointment here is incredibly challenging. While I cannot definitively prove medical misconduct, my mother desperately sought assistance from this surgery and was turned away, subsequently passing away from the very symptoms she was attempting to address. Both the ambulance personnel and hospital physicians were shocked by the surgery's refusal to see her, explicitly stating that an earlier in-person consultation might have improved her chances of survival. My unequivocal recommendation is to seek medical care elsewhere!

No Response After Two Weeks of Waiting

I desperately want to give this medical practice a rating below zero. Since July 18th, I've been seeking a FIT note for my medical condition, and by August 1st, I've heard absolutely nothing from them. When I called to inquire about the status, the physician absurdly claimed they tried contacting me three times, which is completely false as I've received zero calls. Now I'm being told to reschedule and restart the entire process from scratch. It's been two weeks, and I'm still without any resolution! The medical staff are incredibly unprofessional, going so far as to complain that my work schedule interferes with their convenience. Their behavior is utterly unacceptable.

Appointment Canceled at the Last Minute

After waiting for an incredibly long time to secure a dermatology consultation, I was utterly dismayed when, just one evening prior to my long-awaited appointment, they sent a last-minute cancellation message pushing the date back by three weeks. With zero regard for patients who carefully plan and take time off work in advance, their disregard and unprofessionalism is absolutely infuriating. "Abandon all hope, ye who enter".

Nightmare Queue for a Simple Doctor's Appointment

Securing a medical appointment here is an exercise in frustration. The morning booking process is a chaotic scramble where unwell patients must engage in an early-hours battle to even reach the reception desk. Frequently, you're met with the disheartening message that the queue has reached capacity, forcing you to try again later. On the rare occasion you actually connect with staff, you're subjected to an invasive interrogation about your health condition by the receptionist, who acts as an additional barrier to obtaining medical assistance. If you follow their instruction to call back, you're not offered a scheduled appointment for another day, but instead redirected to repeat the same stressful morning queue ritual. This approach is clearly designed to benefit the practice, suggesting they've either overcommitted to patient numbers or are critically understaffed with medical professionals, with little regard for patient comfort or convenience.

Struggling to Get Care After My Accident

After being involved in a road traffic collision and subsequently hospitalized, I was advised to follow up with my GP about a month later to assess my leg and rib injuries. Despite numerous attempts, I've been unable to secure an appointment. The reception staff consistently instruct me to call at 8am, but I'm perpetually unsuccessful in getting through, and even when I do manage to connect, all available slots are already booked. Surely there should be a more effective system for prioritizing patients with ongoing medical needs like mine.

Terrible Phone Service and Endless Waiting

The phone service is utterly abysmal, with constant connection difficulties. After struggling for nearly an hour to finally reach someone one morning, they unceremoniously hung up on me. I've been waiting three weeks for blood test results with zero information about their status. My doctor insisted on a face-to-face consultation, promising to schedule an appointment that never materialized. I'm still battling ongoing stomach problems and remain unable to communicate with the practice, with staff repeatedly insisting appointments can only be made by phone that morning. If my condition worsens significantly, I'll likely end up in the emergency room. Frankly, the entire practice seems eerily deserted, even when I've managed to secure appointments for my children. It appears privatization and outsourcing are gradually transforming healthcare into an impersonal, dysfunctional system.

Rash Ignored at 8am, Dismissed at 4:45pm

This medical facility is an absolute embarrassment to healthcare professionals, and if I could rate them lower than zero, I would. My son developed a widespread rash on his back, and when I called at 8am to schedule an appointment, I was told no face-to-face consultations were available that day and was asked to send photos - which I did. The doctor rang me at 4:45pm, suggesting I take my son to a pharmacist to examine the rash. I demanded a proper medical examination, but they promised to call back about an appointment and never did. I persistently tried contacting them, only to have a receptionist tell me to bring him in just before 6pm, with merely 10 minutes' notice - completely impractical! While a couple of excellent doctors work here, they are undermined by horrendous management and receptionists who overstep boundaries by demanding detailed medical information before granting appointments (a clear violation of patient confidentiality!). Unsurprisingly, I will be transferring my entire family's medical records to another practice as soon as possible. My advice: steer clear of this practice at all costs.

Impossible to Book an Appointment Here

Scheduling an appointment here is a nightmare. No matter how many times you call, the phone just rings endlessly with no response. The online booking system is equally frustrating, trapping you in a continuous loop of failed attempts. While the medical staff might be pleasant, actually getting to see a doctor seems impossible.

I phoned to schedule a consultation and was assured they would reach out sometime between 10:30 and 11:30, but it's now past noon at 12:20pm and I've heard nothing. I put my entire day on hold waiting for their call, and now feel like I've completely squandered my morning. Incredibly frustrating and inconsiderate.

Painful Lump, No Help from Doctor

I recently consulted a physician about a painful lump and infection in a sensitive area, requesting a hospital referral after my previous appointment was cancelled during the March lockdown. Unfortunately, the doctor processed this as a non-urgent matter, and the hospital has indicated a potential year-long wait just for an initial assessment, let alone any surgical intervention. Despite being advised to use antiseptic on the wound, it remains unhealed. I've attempted to contact the practice all week without receiving a single callback. It seems unreasonable that I should be forced to visit the emergency department when my primary care provider could assist me. The pain is so severe that walking or sitting has become nearly impossible. While other medical practices have resumed normal operations, this clinic appears to be using COVID-19 as a convenient excuse for their poor service. Their staff seem lazy and discourteous. During my referral visit, I observed multiple vulnerable individuals, including elderly patients and a sick child, left standing outside in freezing temperatures, ironically while the NHS warns about high winter COVID cases. I was completely disregarded, with staff assuming I was waiting for someone, despite no one having spoken to me directly.
