Reception wouldn't answer calls properly

Disappointing experience with communication - contacted the practice several weeks prior with a question and was told someone would return my call, but this never happened. When I attempted to follow up, I had difficulty reaching anyone, as the reception desk would answer but then disconnect the calls. Would suggest looking elsewhere for care.

Doctors wouldn't listen until serious problem found

I would rate this much lower if possible. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you have the option. It took several appointments before my concerns were properly addressed and a thorough examination was carried out, which eventually led to the identification of a serious condition that might have been detected sooner with more attentive listening during earlier visits. I have experienced issues with follow-up calls not being made as promised. When contact is made, I have found the responses to be dismissive and unhelpful. Throughout my time as a patient, I have rarely encountered staff who genuinely engage with and take on board what I am saying. I would suggest avoiding this practice if alternatives are available.

Phone appointments felt rushed and unhelpful

I had a remote consultation where we discussed my chronic upper back pain affecting my ribs and leg. Following our discussion, I was given a diagnosis and prescribed pain relief medication. However, after taking the medication, I experienced facial numbness and tongue swelling, and it did not help with my back pain. I felt concerned that the diagnosis was reached without additional investigations to support it. On a separate occasion some months earlier, I experienced severe stomach pain but was unable to secure an appointment. I was subsequently admitted to hospital where a significant cyst was identified. I have found it increasingly difficult to obtain face-to-face appointments in recent times and have decided to transfer to another practice.

It is very difficult to obtain an appointment as there are significant challenges reaching the practice by telephone. We have made multiple attempts over several days without success in securing a booking, which has proven to be quite frustrating.

Phone queues make appointments impossible

Reaching this surgery by phone feels like a full-time commitment. I consistently find myself far back in the queue, and today I waited over 20 minutes before deciding to hang up. I've attempted calling at various times throughout the day to identify when lines might be less congested, but without success. It's been quite some time since I was able to secure an appointment through this method. I hope this feedback prompts some consideration of the telephone access situation.

Reception refused to listen to waiting patients

Following my appointment, I needed to book a follow-up visit and arrange some tests. When I approached the reception desk, I was turned away as there were already several people waiting. I remained in the waiting area as more patients arrived, but the receptionist continued to decline to assist me. Another patient in the queue suggested I try again, but I received the same response. With the queue growing to around five or six people, I felt unable to proceed and decided to leave.

Phone lines constantly busy and hard to reach

It is extremely difficult to reach this practice by telephone. When I finally managed to get through after multiple attempts, there were virtually no appointments available. The receptionist's manner was unhelpful and dismissive, and only a single doctor was available for a telephone consultation. I find it concerning that someone in a patient-facing role appears to lack the interpersonal skills and compassion that should be fundamental to working in healthcare.

I wish I could give a lower rating. There are frequent issues with prescription errors. The phone line is consistently busy. The practice leadership lacks compassion and the clinical staff seem focused on rushing appointments rather than providing thorough care. Very disappointing experience.

Couldn't get through after multiple calls

I attempted to contact the practice on numerous occasions before finally reaching someone, only to be informed that no appointments were available and advised to try calling back the following morning, contact an alternative service, or attend in person. I found the practice to be significantly below the standard of other surgeries in the area. The reception staff were unhelpful and discourteous throughout my interactions. I have decided to escalate my concerns through the appropriate regulatory channels.

I cannot find fault with the individuals at this practice, but I will say that one particular clinician stands out as exceptional. The reception team members do everything in their power to help patients. I appreciate the support provided. The receptionists and clinical staff work hard, and given that times are difficult for everyone, I believe it is important to maintain a positive perspective and focus on the good experiences rather than dwelling on negative feedback.

Repeat prescriptions consistently delayed and unhelpful

I have been experiencing significant difficulties obtaining my repeat prescription in a timely manner. I have now been without my medication for eleven days, which is causing me considerable concern given how essential it is for my wellbeing. When I contacted the pharmacy, I felt the response was dismissive and unhelpful. I then reached out to my GP's reception team, who indicated the prescription had been sent, yet I still have not received it. This medication is vital to my health and stability. I plan to follow up again tomorrow to locate my prescription. This pattern of delays appears to occur regularly each month, and I find the overall experience frustrating and disappointing. The service I have received has left me feeling undervalued and let down.

Reception staff attitude left much to be desired

Completely unacceptable experience. The management and reception staff displayed behaviour that I found rude and dismissive. The clinical staff appeared rushed and showed minimal interest in my concerns or overall care. However, the nursing staff I encountered on separate occasions over many years were consistently polite, professional, and attentive.

Practice let me down repeatedly over years

Don't expect any care or compassion. A senior clinician made me feel awful and hurt my wellbeing further. Another staff member was somewhat better, but I am disgusted with this practice. After being a patient here since childhood, they have let me down repeatedly over the years.
