It is extremely difficult to secure an appointment at this practice. The telephone line is consistently engaged, and after a lengthy wait of around half an hour, callers are informed that no appointments are available on that day.

Impossible to book an appointment here

It is frustrating to attempt booking an appointment at this practice, as there appears to be no call queuing system in place. The telephone line is frequently engaged, making it difficult to get through, and online booking options are also unavailable. Other practices in the area have implemented queue systems that seem to reduce the inconvenience of repeated unsuccessful calling attempts. It feels disappointing to struggle with the appointment booking process when regular contributions are made to the NHS.

The receptionist's demeanor suggested a lack of concern regarding my request for urgent attention to a matter requiring investigation. While I understand there may have been limitations on what could be actioned, a more empathetic approach would have been appreciated, even if it wouldn't have changed the outcome. The manner in which the call was handled, including tone and communication style, felt unprofessional throughout.

Reception staff handled difficult patients with professionalism

I attended an appointment recently and during my time in the waiting area, I was struck by the challenging interactions I witnessed between some patients and the reception team. Over the course of my visit, I observed several instances where patients became frustrated with one member of staff who was handling enquiries professionally. The frustration appeared to stem from appointment availability and prescription-related matters, neither of which were within the receptionist's control. Additionally, I overheard another receptionist managing a difficult phone call where the caller was clearly upset. Throughout these situations, both staff members maintained their composure and professionalism. I felt compelled to acknowledge the dedication shown by the reception team, particularly given the pressures they face in their role. Their efforts deserve recognition and appreciation.

Long-term patient valued for prompt diagnosis and care

I have been attending this practice for more than six decades, naturally with various clinicians over that time. Although I have relocated some distance away, I remain loyal to the practice and have not sought care elsewhere. When my children were born, I chose to register them here rather than at a practice closer to my home. I now manage a complicated health condition, and when I first presented this concern to the practice, they provided a prompt and accurate assessment before my onward referral to the hospital. The entire team, including administrative and clinical staff, have consistently demonstrated excellence in their care. Even if the practice boundaries were to change, I would not seriously consider switching to a provider nearer to my current residence.

Phone booking system needs serious improvement

The telephone booking service has been quite disappointing. When calling to arrange an appointment, I'm frequently told that nothing is currently available. I'm directed to ring at 8am to try booking, but even when I do this, I'm unable to secure an appointment. I've been attempting to book for nearly two months without success. The phone service experience has been very poor, and it seems the reception team could benefit from additional support or training.
