Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals significant and persistent challenges with appointment access and waiting experiences at this practice. Across multiple reviews, patients report excessive delays ranging from 45 minutes to over two hours beyond scheduled appointment times, alongside difficulties booking appointments through both phone and in-person channels. Telephone booking systems present particular obstacles, with patients describing extended hold times and limited availability, forcing some to seek care elsewhere. Reception experience emerges as a critical concern, with recurring reports of discourteous and unprofessional conduct, including dismissive attitudes toward patient concerns and lack of flexibility in applying practice policies.

While some patients praise the medical staff for thorough care, compassion, and supportive communication, these positive experiences are substantially outweighed by negative feedback regarding responsiveness and medication access. Several patients report medication-related issues, including delayed prescriptions and refusals to provide necessary medications pending reviews. Communication gaps also feature prominently, with patients describing inadequate follow-up on test results and unclear timelines for rescheduling cancelled appointments.

A smaller number of reviews highlight smooth experiences with courteous staff and efficient service, suggesting that positive care is achievable within the practice. However, the overall pattern indicates systemic issues with appointment scheduling, waiting time management, and consistency in reception staff conduct that require urgent attention to improve patient experience across the board.

Impossible to Get a Doctor's Appointment

I'm seriously contemplating finding a new healthcare provider because securing a timely appointment seems impossible. Today is Tuesday, and when I called to schedule, I was informed there are absolutely no available slots this entire week. They suggested I call at 8am to potentially secure an emergency appointment, but the catch is everyone receives the same advice, making it effectively futile to even attempt. In my opinion, this medical practice's scheduling system requires substantial and immediate improvement.

Receptionists Who Don't Care About Patient Privacy

The front desk staff at my doctor's office are incredibly unprofessional! They interrogate patients about their reasons for seeking medical attention, questioning the urgency of their concerns, and then loudly discuss patient details within earshot of everyone in the waiting room. When a patient expresses a need to see a doctor, they dismissively respond with "everyone has problems" - showing a complete lack of empathy and respect. Moreover, I frequently experience significant delays beyond my scheduled appointment time, only to be hastily ushered out by the doctor, feeling entirely unheard and dismissed, as though my health concerns are trivial and unimportant.

Long Wait Ruined My Two Appointments

Scheduled a consultation two weeks back, arrived punctually and even 10 minutes ahead of time, only to wait in the waiting room for a full hour. Forced to abandon the appointment due to work commitments, I rescheduled for the following week. Once again, I was early and on time, but ended up waiting another hour while 4-5 patients who arrived after me were seen before me. This is completely unacceptable when you're seeking medical assistance. I'm understanding of slight delays at a medical practice, but waiting an hour is beyond reasonable.

Endless Wait on Hold at 6 pm

I've been attempting to cancel my husband's scheduled visit since 5:10 PM because he's delayed at his workplace, and now it's 6:00 PM and I'm still waiting on hold, despite his original appointment being at 5:50. For the past quarter-hour, I've been told I'm second in the queue repeatedly!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous - I could have physically traveled to the location faster than enduring this phone call. 30/3/2016

Long Wait Ruined My Scheduled Appointment

Absolutely terrible medical experience. Despite having a scheduled time slot, I was left waiting for more than 60 minutes before the physician even acknowledged my presence. The complete disregard for patient time and scheduling is unacceptable.

Dr Grace Annan: A Doctor Who Truly Cares

Dr Grace Annan stands out as a truly remarkable physician at Malling Health, demonstrating outstanding medical expertise. Her approach to patient care is exemplary, as she meticulously reviews patient notes before each consultation - a practice so crucial that it's surprising more doctors haven't adopted it. While this might appear to slow down the process, it likely streamlines patient interactions overall. Having encountered numerous healthcare professionals across the spectrum of competence, I can confidently say Dr Annan is exceptional. Unlike some doctors who are primarily concerned with proving their diagnostic accuracy, her primary focus is genuinely the welfare of her patients. This is not an exaggerated praise, but a sentiment shared by many in her patient community who deeply appreciate her compassionate and thorough approach, and sincerely hope she remains with the practice.
