Patient feedback reveals a deeply divided experience at this practice, with significant operational challenges overshadowing clinical strengths. Access to services emerges as the dominant concern, with persistent difficulties reaching the practice by telephone, extremely long waiting times on hold, and severely limited appointment availability creating substantial barriers to care. Patients report struggling to book appointments through phone lines that frequently go unanswered, with some describing months of unsuccessful attempts to secure consultations. The booking experience is further complicated by limited digital options and a cumbersome online platform that many find difficult to navigate.
When patients do access care, the clinical experience receives more positive recognition. Medical professionals are frequently described as competent, compassionate, and attentive during consultations, with several patients praising the quality of medical advice and treatment provided. Reception staff courtesy is similarly highlighted as a strength in many accounts, with staff described as welcoming and helpful. However, these positive clinical interactions are substantially undermined by broader organisational inefficiency, including poor communication channels, lack of email contact options, and inadequate responsiveness to patient inquiries and referral requests.
The practice demonstrates significant inconsistency, with patient experiences varying considerably depending on which physician is consulted and when contact is attempted. While some patients report seamless appointment scheduling and excellent continuity of care, others describe the practice as fundamentally inaccessible and unresponsive to patient needs. This inconsistency, combined with the widespread access difficulties, suggests systemic organisational challenges that require substantial restructuring to meet patient expectations for a modern healthcare service.

Excellent!
Fastest signup at my new local clinic
I've never experienced such an efficient medical practice before. The staff are incredibly professional and compassionate, and the registration process was remarkably straightforward. They provide comprehensive care for both physical and mental well-being, which is truly impressive.

Bad!
Dangerous delays and dismissive staff
This medical practice is absolutely terrible. My children's health has been put at risk twice due to their incompetence. First, they completely ignored my 2-year-old daughter's serious symptoms, dismissing her fever and vomiting as a simple stomach bug, when she actually had a severe infection that could have been prevented with proper medical attention. Then, when I urgently needed an inhaler prescription for my 5-year-old son, I was told to return at 4 PM, only to find it wasn't ready. The receptionist's response was disgraceful, blaming the earlier staff member and making excuses about emergency patients - despite me arriving at 8:30 in the morning. Getting an appointment for my child seems practically impossible, and their reception staff are incredibly unprofessional and discourteous. I am beyond frustrated with the substandard care and attitude of this surgery.

Friendly and caring staff at eastbury surgery
I've never encountered such outstanding service before becoming a patient at Eastbury surgery. Every interaction has been consistently professional and compassionate. From the welcoming reception team to the attentive doctors and nurses, I am thoroughly impressed and cannot praise them enough! Sincere appreciation for all your incredible work and unwavering commitment!

Bad!
Unprofessional leadership harming patient care
The lead doctor and practice administrator are failing their patients by disregarding official healthcare regulations. Their management approach demonstrates a clear lack of professionalism and competence. These key personnel should be swapped out for individuals capable of properly overseeing a medical practice. The abundance of critical feedback from patients clearly illustrates the systemic issues within this healthcare facility.

Caring doctors made all the difference
I've experienced exceptional service and warmth from every staff member and physician at Eastbury Surgery. The interactions are consistently delightful, and the medical professionals genuinely demonstrate compassion for their patients. My spouse and I consider ourselves extremely lucky to be patients of this practice.

Months of suffering at eastbury surgery
Getting an appointment at this practice is virtually impossible. Back in November, I endured three days of waiting for doctors to prescribe antibiotics for a UTI while suffering at home. When I developed a second UTI in March, I opted to purchase antibiotics online instead of dealing with Eastbury Surgery. When symptoms persisted, I reluctantly contacted them. I managed to obtain a prescription for a second batch without a consultation. After these antibiotics also failed, I finally received a telephone consultation that offered nothing more than another antibiotic prescription. I continue to struggle with this condition and only recently transferred to another practice, where I received a face-to-face consultation within an hour. The new practice's doctor was outstanding. They immediately conducted a thorough examination, collected swabs and a urine sample, and will refer me to a gynaecologist. I concur with other reviewers that Eastbury Surgery should be shut down. They completely eroded my trust in medical professionals to the extent that I suffered for three months rather than seek their help. I'm incredibly relieved I switched practices. For context, I rarely leave negative reviews, believing people are human and mistakes happen. However, Eastbury Surgery is, at best, incompetent and, at worst, negligent.

Missed diagnosis and dismissive doctor
This is my inaugural review, and I feel compelled to share my experience: My two-year-old daughter was brought in for two separate appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday. The medical professionals provided a diagnosis that ultimately proved incorrect. Without delving into extensive details, it's clear that a standard ear examination would have revealed the proper diagnosis on both occasions. The physicians solely relied on presented symptoms and conducted minimal physical assessments, which a private doctor later identified as inadequate. Moreover, the senior physician from Wednesday notably lacks interpersonal skills. While we may have caught her at the end of her workday (with the sole bright spot being a receptionist who accommodated our urgent visit), the fact that we left the appointment more focused on the doctor's rudeness and impersonal demeanor is deeply troubling. After reviewing other patient experiences, it's evident that these issues are not isolated but reflect a broader systemic problem within this medical practice.

Rushed and impersonal clinic experience
What has become of the personal connection between healthcare providers and patients? I call to schedule a consultation for my child, and I'm immediately instructed to submit a photo, then directed to obtain a prescription without any direct interaction with a physician! I am completely shocked and dismayed! If this is the standard of care, one might as well replace general practitioners with an automated system! Not to mention, I wasted 35 minutes on hold just to communicate with a receptionist!

Worst medical practice ever with zero help
The rating system fails to capture my frustration, as there should be a zero-star option. Attempting to reach the surgery is impossible, with staff consistently disregarding incoming calls. Despite multiple complaints about their communication issues, no meaningful changes have occurred. Securing an appointment is incredibly challenging. Even patients with serious conditions like head injuries are relegated to impersonal telephone consultations. The practice manager is exceptionally unprofessional, demonstrating a complete lack of communication skills and managerial competence.

Trusted care for 23 years running
Despite encountering numerous critical comments about this medical practice, I feel compelled to share my positive experience. Throughout the 23 years I've been registered here, I have consistently received outstanding medical care and support. Living with ongoing health conditions, I've never been denied an urgent consultation for any health concern. My interactions with the doctors have always been unhurried, and I've received comprehensive guidance and necessary follow-up treatment when required. While there can be wait times when trying to reach staff, they invariably return my calls and considerately inquire about my ability to come to the clinic. My two children have also benefited from prompt attention during their typical childhood illnesses, always securing the appointments we needed.

Caring doctors who really listen
The staff here demonstrate exceptional professionalism and genuine warmth, always taking the time to truly listen and show compassion. Even during high-stress situations, the entire team maintains an impressive level of excellence. Their approach is so remarkable that I believe other general practice clinics could benefit greatly by emulating the Eastbury team's outstanding method of patient care.

Bad!
Horrible phone wait and cold staff
What an absolute exercise in futility. After struggling to connect via phone, I was merely informed that the physician would return my call. Their appointment scheduling is absurdly compressed, offering timeframes completely impractical for patient availability. When I arrived in person, I encountered a staff member so mechanically detached that an actual robot might demonstrate more empathy. They displayed zero capacity to genuinely hear patient concerns, showing neither understanding nor basic human compassion. Their entire procedural approach feels alarmingly reckless and potentially hazardous.

Poor!
Telephone appointments drive me crazy
This medical practice used to be top-notch, but now it's fallen apart. I'm increasingly frustrated with the constant telephone consultations. It's impossible to discuss medical concerns adequately over the phone because you're treated like a processed item on an assembly line. You schedule a call for a specific time, yet receive it at a completely different hour, and if you happen to miss it, there's no follow-up. Everyone understands that reaching this surgery by phone is about as easy as communicating with a distant space mission. I'd consider changing practices, but the doctors themselves are truly exceptional - it's just the process of accessing their care that feels like an arduous journey across a vast, unforgiving desert. They desperately need to reassess their appointment system and these seemingly infinite wait times.

Endless queue ruins critical medical appointment
Absolutely absurd situation where canceling an appointment for my mother is impossible due to an excessively long waiting line, which will inevitably result in a missed appointment. This has been the most frustrating medical practice I've ever encountered, with wait times exceeding an hour just to reach reception. Your service is a complete letdown for patients, and you desperately need to add 1-2 more receptionists. My recent call lasted over 1 hour and 11 minutes before I ultimately gave up - and this appears to be standard practice. Take action immediately, as this level of service is completely unacceptable, especially considering we contribute financially to the NHS. You are fundamentally failing everyone who depends on you.

Endless waiting and zero communication
If I could give zero stars, I would. I'm currently drafting a formal complaint (which must be handwritten) and plan to report them to the medical council. The service is absolutely abysmal. I've been on hold as caller number 2 for over an hour. To get a same-day appointment, you must keep your phone ready all day. The GP scheduled my blood test on the wrong day of my cycle. I called repeatedly for four days, and no doctor returned my call. When I visited in person, they sent me home, promising a doctor would call - but nobody did. They directed me to My Vernon for the blood test, providing no specific address or time. Eventually, I learned it's a walk-in clinic only open during my work hours, making it impossible to attend. When I explained this to the receptionist, I was told I needed doctor confirmation for my workplace. Predictably, no doctor called. My workplace generously allowed me time off this afternoon. I drove over an hour round trip, only to discover the doctor had requested a fasting blood test without informing me. Each time I call, they promise to call back but never do. I'm always on hold for at least 30 minutes, often longer. I visited the surgery, where they assured me someone would call or text. With six minutes until closing, I still haven't heard anything. The service is utterly disgraceful. I needed this blood test today, but now I'll have to wait another month. I'm completely appalled by their total lack of care.

Worst medical advice from clueless staff
Absolutely abysmal service, with staff providing completely incorrect guidance. The administrative personnel demonstrate a shocking lack of competence, and even the so-called asthma nurse appears utterly clueless. I cannot emphasize enough how strongly I advise against seeking medical care at this facility.

Endless wait and zero help from reception
This medical practice is an absolute nightmare. The front desk staff are completely incompetent, and getting through to them is like trying to reach the moon - it takes around three hours just to speak with someone. When you finally manage to book an appointment, you'll be waiting for approximately four months. Save yourself the frustration and steer clear of this place, as they're virtually useless when it comes to providing any meaningful assistance.

Nicki nailed my tricky blood draw
Nicki was absolutely fantastic! She truly exemplifies the highest standards of surgical care! I've had countless nurses struggle to draw my blood, but she succeeded effortlessly on her first attempt! Massive appreciation x
