Receptionist solved my problem while I waited

I have been attending this practice since birth and have consistently found it to be excellent. During a recent interaction with a member of the reception team, my concern was resolved while I was waiting to be seen, which was either fortunate timing or thoughtful assistance. Either way, it was a wonderful experience and I am very grateful.

Chronic delays meant leaving without being seen

I'm a strong advocate for the NHS, however when the appointment schedule is running significantly behind early in the morning, it does raise questions about the practice's ability to maintain timely operations. After waiting considerably past my scheduled time, I had to leave to get to work. The experience was frustrating.

We try to give all of our patients the time they need. On this occasion, the first patient of the day needed a little extra time which put the clinic behind. Easy to get appointments through triage system

Relocated to this area last year following a move away from my former practice where I had been a patient for four decades. I'm delighted with the decision and have nothing but praise for the entire team here, including reception staff, clinical nurses, and medical professionals. I've consistently been able to secure appointments when needed and believe the assessment system operates effectively.

Waiting room noise and lack of reading material disappoints

The waiting area creates an unpleasant atmosphere. The audio levels are uncomfortably high, with both a radio and television broadcasting simultaneously at competing volumes — this creates a disruptive environment rather than the peaceful setting one would expect before a medical consultation. The reading material selection is limited to gardening publications only, offering no diversity for different interests. There are also no entertainment options available for younger visitors — an absence of toys, books, or other diversions. The overall space feels uninviting, cold, and appears to lack thoughtful design consideration. A medical practice should ideally provide a tranquil and welcoming environment. This facility does not achieve that standard.

We are sorry that this was your experience when visiting the practice and have taken your comments on board. Unfortunately we had to remove toys from our waiting area some time ago. We do have lots of books provided by our lovely Patient Participation Group however and have recently added more plants to our waiting area. Hopefully your next visit will be a more pleasant experience.

Online triage system doesn't work for working patients

I had a positive experience with this practice previously, but since they implemented their new online triage system, I've encountered difficulties. The system becomes available after my work begins and closes by the time I finish in the afternoon, making it impossible for me to access it. When I contacted the surgery to explain my situation and request an appointment through an alternative method, I received a response directing me back to the triage system. This approach appears to exclude patients who cannot reach the website during the limited morning availability window. I feel this system design may not have adequately considered the needs of all patients trying to book appointments.

Reception team went above and beyond

I cannot speak highly enough of this practice. Following a number of significant health concerns over recent years, both the permanent clinical staff and visiting practitioners have consistently demonstrated exceptional care. The administrative team at reception are equally impressive. Given the challenging circumstances facing NHS services today, with staff stretched and resources limited, the team here truly makes an effort to go the extra mile.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
