Feedback reflects a mixed experience across the practice, with particular strengths in clinical care delivery and staff courtesy balanced against significant access challenges. Patients consistently praise the professionalism, compassion, and clinical expertise of medical staff, with many highlighting responsive and attentive care during consultations. Reception teams are frequently noted for their courtesy and willingness to help, and several long-term patients express deep gratitude for continuity of care over decades.
However, appointment availability emerges as a substantial concern, with multiple patients reporting difficulty securing timely slots, extended telephone queues at opening times, and booking systems that fill within hours. Communication barriers and booking frustration feature prominently, with some patients describing the process as nearly impossible and others noting inconsistency between online availability and actual appointment access. Medication management issues and post-treatment support gaps are also mentioned, alongside concerns about access to in-person appointments and the effectiveness of telephone screening processes.
While operational pressures appear to affect service consistency, the practice demonstrates capability in responsive clinical care and staff professionalism when patients do gain access. The contrast between positive experiences of clinical quality and negative experiences of appointment access suggests systemic capacity challenges rather than uniform service failure.

Dismissive Doctor Missed My Prostate Concerns
The quality of this medical practice has significantly deteriorated over time, and while the reception staff remain consistently friendly and welcoming, the physicians have become increasingly dismissive and seemingly apathetic. In today's medical environment, it appears more convenient for doctors to provide simplistic diagnoses rather than thoroughly investigating the underlying causes of a patient's condition. Recently, I've been experiencing prostate-related symptoms that clearly warrant comprehensive examination, yet the GP who saw me conducted only an outdated and medically discredited cough test. Modern medical professionals recognize this method as unreliable, with more accurate diagnostic techniques like Digital Rectal Examination being preferred - a procedure my doctor completely neglected. When I expressed my concerns and questioned why he wasn't seriously considering my prostate as the potential source of my symptoms, his cavalier response was, "If it'll make you happy, I'll run some blood tests to confirm or rule it out." While I appreciate his willingness to conduct tests, his approach seems more focused on placating my emotional state than genuinely diagnosing and treating my medical issue. I deeply miss Doctor Lowe, who embodied a more compassionate and thorough approach to patient care, always committed to identifying the root cause rather than settling for the most convenient explanation.

Quick and Friendly Medical Booking
I've never encountered any issues myself. Scheduling a telephone consultation is straightforward, with the option for an in-person meeting if needed. The front desk staff are consistently accommodating, making every effort to resolve any concerns and maintaining a courteous demeanor throughout.

Terrible Service That Wastes Your Time
Absolutely worthless! They consistently dodge responsibility for referral inquiries, sending you on endless, frustrating detours. They never allow you to select your preferred destination and persistently brush you aside without genuine assistance.

Weeks of Frustration Trying to Book Appointment
Deeply disappointed to submit a critical review, but the operational setup is fundamentally flawed. It seems they're overwhelmed with patient volume. The reception staff are consistently compassionate and supportive, yet they're constrained by systemic limitations. I've spent weeks attempting to secure an appointment, continuously being instructed to retry the following day. Ultimately, I transitioned to the NEMS platform and have since changed medical practices.

BadCan't get an appointment
To book an appointment they open the bookings at 8am. By 8:30am every day they are booked up and refuse future appointments. I've been trying to see a GP since Feb but am only being given access to basic services. I understand that they are overrun but with a history of abdominal cancer in the family and symptoms in the abdomen area; this is really poor and leaves me feeling that they don't care.

Downhill Since Moving to New Location
Since my initial days at the practice located on Church Walk, the quality of service has dramatically declined. What was once outstanding has now become utterly frustrating. Attempting to contact the surgery by phone is nearly impossible, and securing an appointment seems like an insurmountable challenge. My monthly repeat prescription process is consistently chaotic, and I've truly reached my breaking point with their current standard of care.

No Appointments When I Really Needed Help
Tried to book a medical appointment after 111 advised me to see a doctor, but encountered total frustration. When I followed their instruction to call at 8 AM, I finally got through at 8:40, only to be told all slots for the day were already taken.

Quick Care for Mom's Urgent Health Needs
The medical professionals at the surgery went above and beyond when my elderly mother contracted a urinary tract infection. From the incredibly supportive administrative staff to the compassionate and skilled nursing team and outstanding physicians, everyone ensured my mother received prompt and comprehensive care. When her condition deteriorated and she was unable to come to the clinic, the doctor personally visited her at home and subsequently arranged an expedited admission to the acute medical unit at QMC, bypassing the emergency department. Our entire family is profoundly grateful for their exceptional support during this challenging period.

Terrible service at half 8 in the morning
Terrible medical staff, both my grandmother and I have been repeatedly ignored by the front desk... The receptionist's excuse that no physicians are available to contact at 8:30 AM is completely illogical... I'm filing a formal complaint. I've already transferred my medical care to Newthorpe clinic and will be moving my grandma's records there as well.

Terrible after-care at this part-time clinic
Post-treatment support following a significant medical procedure is abysmal. A healthcare provider that seems completely indifferent to patient well-being. I'd rate this zero if possible, but am forced to give a single star. This appears to be a part-time medical practice delivering equally part-time, inadequate care.

Quick response and helpful morning appointment
This morning, I had a scheduled visit at 8:30am. After my appointment, I approached the reception to seek a physician's consultation on another issue. Impressively, the doctor called me back by 9:00am and arranged a follow-up appointment for 1pm today. The service was truly outstanding. Additionally, the feature allowing patients to submit photos beforehand is a fantastic and convenient option.

Eastwood surgery's frustrating appointment system
When we initially relocated to Eastwood, this medical practice was exceptional. Lately, though, communication and scheduling have become incredibly challenging. It's virtually impossible to connect with staff or secure an appointment. On the rare occasions I've managed to speak with someone, I've been redirected to urgent care (which I've already visited twice) or told to go to the emergency department for a straightforward ear infection requiring antibiotics. They suggest using the NHS app to book an appointment, but when I attempt to do so, there are no available slots with any physician for over 16 weeks, and the app itself recommends calling the surgery. The decline in service has been profoundly frustrating!

Doctor Norris took her time with me
Met with Dr. Norris during my recent appointment, and I was genuinely impressed by her approach. She took the time to listen carefully, explained everything clearly, and gave me her full attention without making me feel rushed. Her compassionate demeanor and comprehensive examination were standout qualities. While I can't definitively say she's the absolute best physician at the practice, she's definitely among the top-tier doctors there.

Lifesaving Care on Church Street
Been my healthcare provider for decades, first at the Church Street location and now across two practices. I cannot comprehend how anyone could complain about waiting times. My spouse and I would not be alive today without the exceptional care provided by every single staff member at both medical facilities. We are incredibly grateful beyond words.

Lifesaving Care When I Needed It Most
I endured a terrible period with a discovered lump, experiencing significant blood loss, weight reduction, and persistent nausea. After a single phone consultation and a few weeks of diagnostic procedures, I'm nearly through the worst. The staff's responsiveness, dedication, and professionalism have been consistently exceptional. Dr. Scullard deserves special recognition for supporting my family through challenging times over the past ten years. Too many individuals focus on criticism rather than expressing gratitude for those who improve their lives. People complain about phone wait times from the comfort of their homes, forgetting they're not sitting in a crowded waiting room surrounded by ill patients. These wait times simply reflect the immense number of patients they're striving to help. We should appreciate their efforts. My heartfelt thanks to everyone at Church Street and Church Walk for their incredible care and support.

Long Wait and No Help at 8.15 am
Getting a doctor's appointment has become incredibly frustrating. Securing even a simple call back feels like a rare stroke of luck. The healthcare system seems perpetually overwhelmed, and their continued excuses about COVID are wearing thin. Being number 37 in the telephone queue at 8:15 in the morning is absolutely unacceptable and highlights the profound dysfunction in current primary care access.
