Unacceptable Treatment

This GP practice repeatedly refused to follow specialist advice under a Shared Care Agreement. They kept coming up with different excuses to justify not providing medical care. This meant there had to be a lot of back and forth between me, the specialist, and the practice to deal with their false arguments. They did not make any proper effort to resolve any of the issues or find an appropriate solution for me to receive medical care. Ultimately, it became clear that the GP practice simply did not want to provide this essential medical care, despite their duty of care and their obligations under the SCA. The practice also failed to properly communicate things with me, and made decisions that affected my medical care without informing me. This all resulted in a delay of over six months for me to receive essential medical care, and me having to switch to a different GP practice in order to receive that care.

One of the GPs at the practice also made a referral to another service using a diagnosis that has been outdated since 2013. They also failed to communicate things with me, and made decisions that affected my medical care without informing me. All of this has ultimately led to me having essential medical care delayed by over 6 months, and having to switch to a different GP in order to receive that medical care.

Frustrating wait times for older patients

The anima system is completely inadequate. Older individuals face significant challenges. As a 74-year-old resident who has been part of Elm House since 1951, I find the current setup deeply frustrating. On two recent occasions, I've been scheduled for appointments that are 7 or 8 weeks away. I'm on the verge of total discouragement. Consistently, I'm being instructed to make bookings through an online platform, which is entirely unsuitable for someone of my generation.

I don't often visit this medical practice, but I recently went to their asthma clinic and met with Michelle. She recommended switching my medication from ventolin and becotide to the combination inhaler Fostair. This new inhaler has been a game-changer for me - it provides a more extended relief compared to ventolin, and I'm experiencing improved breathing, even during allergy season. I believe the new inhaler is helping to decrease overall inflammation, as my long-standing Achilles tendinitis has significantly improved. I wholeheartedly suggest scheduling an appointment at this asthma clinic to ensure you're receiving the most suitable treatment for your condition.

Quick fix for stubborn skin spot

I accidentally picked at a blemish using tweezers... This caused damage to a blood vessel beneath my skin surface... Which resulted in continuous bleeding for several weeks... When I saw the doctor, they promptly called in a surgeon who swiftly proposed removing the dried lesion and halting the bleeding, an offer I readily accepted. The entire procedure was incredibly brief, lasting approximately 5 minutes. I experienced absolutely no discomfort. There was no further bleeding, and the area completely healed within just a few days - all accomplished without any waiting period or hospital admission. Much appreciation! ✌️

Unfriendly receptionist ruined my entire visit

The front desk staff I encountered seemed completely disengaged from their professional role. Their communication was curt, abrupt, and came across as overly confrontational. If your healthcare provider employs Anima, steer clear of it. The system routes patients through non-medical administrative personnel who direct you to call 111 for appointment scheduling. Anima exposes sensitive patient details to administrative staff lacking clinical expertise. Should you raise concerns, they respond with intimidating correspondence. Let's collectively reject these third-party applications that compromise patient privacy and medical care.

Struggled to book after brain surgery

Barely functional service. Struggled at 9:30am to book an appointment, which required navigating complex two-factor authentication. The process seems impossible for anyone without technical skills. Recently underwent brain surgery and needed stitch removal 14 days post-operation. My mother attempted to schedule a nurse appointment in person after my discharge. Shockingly, no appointments were available within the next 10 days for this time-critical procedure. We were dismissively redirected to urgent care - an absolutely inappropriate suggestion for someone recovering from major brain surgery. The complete lack of empathy and poor appointment management was deeply frustrating. The physical facilities are actually quite good. If only accessing them wasn't such an ordeal!
