I've attended two in-person consultations and one phone appointment this week, all arranged with short notice. The service has been exceptional, and I've never experienced feeling hurried or like a burden. The clinical staff have demonstrated genuine compassion throughout my visits. When reception staff have seemed curt, it's typically due to high call volumes and a busy waiting area. There were ongoing difficulties with the repeat prescription system previously, though the underlying technical issues have since been resolved. Overall, I have no complaints about the practice.

Medication stock issues causing repeated delays

I initially consulted with several clinicians before being seen by a senior member of the practice, who spent a brief amount of time examining what turned out to be a lump. I found myself placed on multiple waiting lists that seemed unnecessary. My main concern arose when I attended to collect medication that I needed to begin taking immediately, only to be informed it was unavailable. During that same visit, I noticed several other patients were also told their prescribed medications were not in stock. I have concerns about how this practice is managing its operations.

Prescription denied before travelling abroad

The practice has declined to issue a repeat prescription despite my upcoming travel abroad for an extended period. This has left me without access to my regular medication. I have had to seek alternative medical provision from a private provider to obtain the necessary supply, which incurred additional costs. The private provider expressed surprise at the situation, as do I.

Repeat prescriptions never reach the pharmacy

Every time I visit to collect my repeat medication, it appears not to reach the pharmacy as expected. I find myself having to act as an intermediary, repeatedly reminding the practice to forward my prescription to my chosen pharmacy. This has been a source of considerable frustration with the repeat prescription service.

This practice has been disappointing due to interactions with staff members. While politeness is expected from patients, the same courtesy does not appear to be extended in return. The experience has left me reluctant to return to this surgery in the future. There seems to be a disconnect between the standards being asked of patients and those being demonstrated by the team.

I noticed a recorded message mentioned that the team deals with difficult interactions from patients, though this didn't improve my own experience. I've been unable to secure an appointment with a clinician, as the reception process has proven to be a barrier. The earliest available slot offered was a telephone consultation several weeks away. The overall handling of my visit left me feeling let down. When I inquired about how to lodge feedback, I was informed that complaints must be submitted by post rather than through email, which added to my dissatisfaction.
