My family and I have all been patients at Essex Lodge Surgery for over 20 years, and for the most part our experiences have all been really positive, especially considering the stress the NHS has been under in recent years, especially in east London where patient numbers and deprivation are extremely high. The reception staff are always kind and polite, especially to my daughter who has a chronic long term condition and learning disability, l feel this is particularly impressive taking into account the abusive and disrespectful way some patients talk to them. Most of the nurses are also really kind, patient and respectful, going out of their way to make my daughter feel comfortable. There are also some really excellent, lovely doctors, Dr Awal and Dr Vaid in my experience have always been particularly caring, reassuring and just really kind! Which is so important when you are feeling ill and vulnerable or worried about your child, and most of the other doctors l have seen over the years have also been friendly and professional! Pleasant morning call back at 8 am
At my age of 75, I'm fortunate to have minimal doctor visits. Whenever I do seek medical attention, the service is consistently top-notch. Recently, I called around 8 am and initially felt discouraged upon learning I was 21st in the queue. However, by selecting the callback option, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a return call within 30-40 minutes. (Wouldn't it be wonderful if all organizations adopted such an efficient approach?) The reception staff have always been welcoming and accommodating with any questions I've had. While waiting, I appreciated the digital screen displaying patient names and designated rooms. Dr. Nandra particularly impressed me by leaving his office to personally greet and guide me back to his consultation room - a thoughtful gesture that made me feel valued as a patient. Within just several days, the skin condition deteriorated, compelling me to consult another physician. This subsequent doctor promptly recommended a hydrating intervention, which swiftly ameliorated the problem. This experience revealed how readily my legitimate parental concerns were minimized. With infant healthcare, practitioners should listen carefully and provide compassionate support — not summarily disregard worried parents. I am now hesitant about revisiting this medical practice.
