A GP Practice That Truly Puts Patients First!

Listening to others talk about the challenges they face with their GP practices makes me realise how fortunate we are to have such an amazing, friendly, and well-organised practice. The doctors genuinely care about their patients and will even call to check in on you. Appointments are always accommodated on the same day whenever possible, and patients are clearly at the heart of everything the practice does. The reception staff and managers go above and beyond to help and support you. When caring for elderly family members, having such a responsive and compassionate practice makes a huge difference and helps ease the pressures of day-to-day life. I honestly believe that other GP practices could learn a great deal from Fairfield Surgery. Thank you to everyone at the practice for the outstanding care and service you provide.

Exceptional healthcare from knowledgeable warrington professionals

The medical professionals here are incredibly supportive. I had an extensive phone consultation covering six separate health concerns, and the physician was thoroughly knowledgeable. Although I needed to seek physiotherapy elsewhere (near green lane school), those practitioners were equally exceptional. I'm aware that patient experiences in Widnes are quite problematic, and I've actively advised people to switch to the Warrington practice for their wellbeing. Fairfield Medical Centre is truly outstanding - they've consistently maintained appointment reliability, never delayed medication, and consistently provided expert guidance (and as someone familiar with pharmaceuticals, I appreciate this). Absolutely deserving of a perfect rating.

Frustrating healthcare service with limited availability

The service is far from impressive. The onboarding process is painfully slow, and their econsult availability is extremely limited, now restricted to just 8-12 on weekdays with an even more restrictive window that closes before 10am. So much for a supposedly 24/7 service that's supposed to accommodate patients' schedules... Additionally, their interactive voice response system is incredibly frustrating when you're forced to call because the econsult window has already shut. Update: I'd gladly give negative stars if possible - it's practically impossible to complete an econsult. They seem to close almost immediately after opening, and are only accessible Monday through Friday. To make matters worse, today at 8:15am, the econsult was already closed, which is absolutely ridiculous.

This week, I'm convinced that the medical intervention I received was potentially life-saving. I rapidly developed a severe case of chronic anaemia, causing significant health concerns. The medical team responded with remarkable efficiency, conducting blood tests and arranging hospital admission with incredible swiftness. Urgent blood transfusions were necessary for my recovery. Meanwhile, my son, who was unwell at home, received prioritized home visits, recognizing my role as his primary caregiver. The level of care and support my son and I have experienced is truly extraordinary, and I am profoundly grateful to every healthcare professional involved in our treatment.

Frustrated patient struggles with buscopan prescription request

I've submitted 7 requests over nearly 2 weeks, and they still haven't issued my Buscopan. Last week, I couldn't get past the trainee. I was told a week ago last Tuesday that a doctor would call me later that day. Instead, on Friday, an unfamiliar doctor called me at 7 pm and could only prescribe one item - diarrhea tablets, not cramp relief. I'm still suffering and can't afford £8 per box on universal credit. I've been prescribed these before, but no admin staff or doctor will explain the delay. I feel like I've been completely abandoned by my GP surgery of 20 years, and they're refusing to tell me why, leaving me in absolute agony with ongoing diarrhea!!

I visited for an HIV screening. They instructed me to complete an online consultation form. The digital form malfunctioned, so I called to explain my urgent need for medication. The staff member responded with a deeply offensive and discriminatory comment, referring to my sexuality in a derogatory manner. Absolutely unacceptable service.

Terrible healthcare service endangering patient's life

A complete mockery of a medical practice with incredibly brusque front desk staff who left my partner without crucial medication for four days, despite explicit instructions from his physician about the importance of not skipping these tablets. It's incomprehensible how they can be so cavalier about patient health, which is absolutely unacceptable. I refuse to contact them anymore after being falsely accused of using inappropriate language, when I did no such thing. Requesting a callback is futile, as they either never return the call or neglect to consult the doctor as promised. Their unprofessional behavior has become so intolerable that we now have my mother-in-law make calls on our behalf, as she can better navigate their discourteous and dismissive attitude.

Disappointing mental health care from unhelpful doctors

I previously considered them the pinnacle of medical practices, with incredibly welcoming and compassionate front desk staff. However, the doctors fall short when addressing mental health concerns like anxiety and depression. Their approach seems to be a casual "take these pills and see what happens" attitude, which I suspect is unfortunately typical across medical practices. These professionals desperately need additional training on mental health nuances and medication side effects (my own condition has deteriorated over a decade). If you share childhood challenges, be prepared for dismissive responses like "That's just how life dealt the cards" or "It was a long time ago" - possibly because I'm male and should apparently just "toughen up". Additionally, be prepared for significant waiting times; despite arriving early for appointments, expect delays ranging from 30 minutes to an hour beyond the scheduled time. I've had enough and am switching medical practices. Best of luck to anyone else dealing with this.
