Feedback reflects a deeply polarised patient experience with significant operational challenges alongside pockets of positive care. Appointment access emerges as the most persistent concern, with patients reporting extended waiting times, phone system difficulties, and unreliable online booking platforms that frequently display no availability. Communication delays are widespread, including unresponsive messaging systems, lost requests, and slow prescription processing. Many patients describe feeling dismissed or encountering dismissive staff attitudes, whilst others highlight compassionate reception staff and responsive professionals who demonstrate genuine care. Continuity of care issues appear following recent service changes, with some patients experiencing frequent provider switching and administrative dysfunction affecting referrals and medical records. Conversely, several patients commend thorough consultations, efficient scheduling processes, and supportive clinical teams who prioritise patient wellbeing despite systemic pressures.
The practice demonstrates inconsistent service quality across different service areas and patient interactions. Positive experiences centre on reception courtesy, clinical expertise, and responsive communication through digital platforms when functioning effectively. However, negative feedback consistently highlights barriers to appointment availability, particularly same-day-only booking restrictions and lengthy phone queues. Prescription errors, misplaced documentation, and communication breakdowns between departments suggest administrative challenges. Some patients report improved experiences with newer digital systems, whilst others find them confusing or non-functional. The overall impression suggests a practice under considerable strain, where individual staff members often provide compassionate care but systemic issues around access, booking processes, and administrative coordination significantly impact patient experience and confidence in the service.

Confusing directions made me late
Subpar assistance. The general practitioner's office is located within the hospital's primary structure, and the front desk staff demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge about the clinic's offerings. Upon arrival, despite being 30 minutes ahead of schedule, confusing guidance leads to tardiness. Extremely unsatisfactory situation. Significant enhancements are urgently required.

Compassionate staff saved my healthcare journey
Truly compassionate and committed professionals, even amid the immense challenges confronting the National Health Service. It's remarkable how they maintain their resilience and continue to prioritize patient care with such unwavering dedication. The administrative staff have been exceptional in managing appointments and diligently following up on referral documentation.

Frustrating primary care with unhelpful staff
The general practice is mediocre at best. The management and administrative personnel display a distinctly unhelpful attitude. It's disappointing that they seem more focused on hindering rather than supporting the healthcare needs of their patients.

Impossible to see a gp ever
The absolute bottom of the barrel, and that's being generous; it's tragically paradoxical that a healthcare provider meant to improve patient well-being is actually achieving the exact reverse. The experience is so monumentally aggravating that enduring your medical symptoms seems preferable to navigating this practice's bureaucratic nightmare. I haven't been able to consult a general practitioner in three entire years. You're condemned to wait a minimum of half an hour just to interact with a receptionist, who then redirects you to an integrated service that invariably tells you must see a GP. Yet securing an actual appointment is practically impossible - you can't schedule ahead, and when you ring early in the morning, every single slot is perpetually filled.

Long wait and no booking options
Scheduling a follow-up consultation with the same physician is an absolute headache. The clinic's policy restricts booking appointments ahead of time, limiting patients to same-day scheduling. The overall service quality is extremely poor.

Poor!
Records request went nowhere
Exceptional experience as a patient at this facility. However, after relocating approximately three years ago, I've been futilely attempting to obtain my medical records. Despite numerous email attempts, phone calls, and online requests, I've received absolutely no communication or response from them.

Worst mental health support ever
I have absolutely no positive remarks about this medical practice. Their track record includes misdiagnoses, scheduling challenges, and a complete lack of empathy - and that's just scratching the surface. My latest interaction involved an urgent online consultation request during a mental health emergency. Their response? An impersonal automated email from a physician claiming they were overwhelmed and would contact me in two weeks.

Prescription nightmare with constant errors
I'd award them zero stars if possible. EACH encounter with them has resulted in some kind of mistake. I submitted registration forms three separate times, with them consistently misplacing them. Indeed, they repeatedly claimed I wasn't a patient, despite having consulted physicians and received prescriptions. On another occasion, they processed repeat prescriptions tardily after assuring me I could collect them in person. Furthermore, they failed to send my prescription to the correct pharmacy that I specifically requested - and this happened twice! I've wasted over three hours on hold during my last six calls, with two calls disconnecting after waiting for 30 minutes. Steer clear of them. "Incompetent" doesn't even begin to describe their performance. You might as well remain unwell, as it would be far less aggravating.

Saved me hours of painful waiting
This system is truly impressive and has significantly improved. However, I can't help but sympathize with those lacking internet access, as the telephone support queue is incredibly frustrating and mind-numbingly slow.

Months of frustration with broken referral
Truly abysmal service. I was assured my referral was processed, yet upon investigation weeks later, it was nonexistent. The physician's office only reached out a full month after my initial request. They repeatedly sent my medication orders to an incorrect pharmacy and arbitrarily cancelled my consultation without addressing my needs. Their operations are unprofessional and unreliable. It's no surprise they've had to publicly acknowledge patient dissatisfaction with their current, questionable approach.

Quick online scheduling saves the day
A compassionate healthcare provider that truly prioritizes patient communication. Their digital platform makes reaching out much simpler compared to their constantly overwhelmed phone lines, and they consistently deliver on their commitments.

Easy booking and friendly staff
Every interaction with the staff here, from pediatric immunizations to midwifery visits and doctor's appointments, has consistently been exceptional. Their recently introduced digital scheduling platform is a remarkable improvement and functions flawlessly.

Caring receptionists who listen at 08:00
I can't find a single fault with this medical practice. The reception staff are incredibly compassionate. They genuinely listen to patients' concerns. For instance, securing an urgent appointment requires calling at 8am, and I'm aware the receptionists must receive countless calls. Despite this, they consistently remain warm and courteous. Their email responses are impressively prompt. With my complex medical history, the staff are always gentle and never dismissive. They demonstrate remarkable patience during interactions. The doctors are truly exceptional. While wait times can be longer, I view this positively as it indicates thorough consultations without rushing patients. Dr. Evans was particularly outstanding. His approach was incredibly kind, and he meticulously documented patient discussions, always treating comments with respect. I've consulted him numerous times and found him consistently compassionate. Tomorrow, I'll call regarding a painful arm injury from a recent fall, and I'm confident the receptionist will provide excellent assistance. I wholeheartedly recommend this practice based on my wonderful experiences. Moreover, I'm perplexed by any negative reviews, as my interactions have always been delightful. My only disappointment is Dr. Evans's retirement. He was an extraordinary physician, and I'm genuinely saddened by his departure.

Phone queue nightmare for hours
Completely unacceptable!! Spent 35 minutes on hold. Initially positioned 5th in line, then stuck at 1st place for over 17 minutes before being disconnected abruptly. Such a frustrating misuse of my valuable time. If someone were genuinely unwell, they'd be forced to repeat this entire exhausting process and squander another 30 minutes or longer. Riverway, you desperately need to overhaul your customer service phone setup
