Feedback reflects a mixed experience across the practice, with notable variation in service quality depending on which team member patients encounter. Clinical staff receive consistent praise for compassion, knowledge, and supportive care, with many patients highlighting their attentiveness and professionalism. However, reception experience emerges as a significant concern, with recurring reports of discourtesy, dismissive communication, and poor courtesy during patient interactions. Appointment access presents ongoing challenges, including lengthy telephone waiting times, difficulty securing GP slots, and limited availability outside standard daytime hours. Several patients report that the practice has experienced service decline over time, particularly following changes in reception staffing and the removal of walk-in sessions.
Communication and responsiveness issues extend beyond reception to clinical interactions, with some patients describing insufficient clinical assessment, dismissive responses to concerns, and inadequate explanation of treatment decisions. Prescription accuracy and pharmacy coordination have also been flagged as areas requiring attention. Positively, the practice environment is well-maintained with convenient parking, and some patients report efficient appointment booking and short waiting times, suggesting inconsistency in service delivery.
The practice appears to operate under capacity constraints, with patients noting that high call volumes and staffing limitations impact accessibility. While several patients express genuine appreciation for individual clinicians and their care, the overall pattern indicates that reception team conduct, appointment availability, and communication skills would benefit from focused improvement to ensure consistent, respectful service across all patient interactions.

Bad!
Dismissive response to medication side effects concern
I have type 2 diabetes and was dispensed a different brand of medication which caused me adverse effects. I contacted the surgery to request an alternative prescription so I could obtain the original brand instead. However, when I spoke with the clinician, they advised me that I need salt and suggested I could purchase it from supermarkets. They did not explain the reasoning behind this recommendation, and I was confused about why this would be relevant to my condition.

Bad!
Reception staff unhelpful and phone waits lengthy
Switched to this practice from my previous one and have been quite let down by the experience. The reception team came across as curt and unhelpful, with lengthy hold times when calling, and there were concerns about a reluctance to arrange a blood test for my daughter. At 16, she was simply advised to increase physical activity for persistent joint stiffness that has been ongoing for several years. Additionally, a phone consultation was scheduled at a time that didn't suit us despite clearly communicating her availability after 4pm. The lack of readily accessible consent documentation for young patients was also frustrating. Overall, a disappointing experience with the practice.

Bad!
Painful blood test from inexperienced staff member
Attended for a blood test with a staff member who appeared to be new to the role. The procedure was not performed smoothly, and the needle insertion was uncomfortable. This caused me distress and affected my mood for the remainder of the day.

Reception staff attitude has become less helpful
The reception staff used to be particularly pleasant and courteous with patients. The current team seems less friendly and appears to lack the same communication skills. I needed a prescription item that was already set up for regular refills to be increased in quantity due to the small bottle size. When I called to request this, the receptionist informed me that this couldn't be handled over the phone and that I would need to visit the centre in person. Given my long-standing relationship with the practice and my circumstances, I had previously found it convenient to handle such requests by telephone, and the previous staff would typically process these promptly. The current approach requires an in-person visit for any request, which seems unnecessary given that telephone lines exist for communication purposes. This was a straightforward request for an adjustment to an existing repeat prescription, not something that would require significant effort. The practice appears to have declined in quality due to changes in reception services. I believe the practice would benefit from recruiting reception staff who are properly trained and competent in their roles.

Excellent!
Long-serving practice with caring staff support
I have been a patient at this practice for many years and have always appreciated the clinical team. I attended for a blood test today and learned that one of the doctors I valued has moved on. I was disappointed to hear this news, as they provided excellent care to my family over the time they were here. I wish them well in their future endeavours and am grateful for the quality of service they offered.

Bad!
Reception staff could be more polite
Like others have mentioned, the reception team could benefit from improved courtesy and professionalism. Additionally, there have been recurring issues with prescription accuracy that have required multiple return visits to the pharmacy to resolve. These matters would benefit from attention and improvement.

Reception gave us the runaround booking a test
Attempted to arrange a test for my elderly parent, but found the reception team and staff handling the request unhelpful and frustrating. One staff member mentioned the practice has a large patient list, which while understandable, didn't address my specific concerns. The overall handling of this matter was disappointing and has left me with reservations about engaging with the practice's services going forward.
