Patient Experience Summary

Patients consistently praise the clinical competence and professionalism of medical staff, describing doctors as knowledgeable, caring, and effective in their treatment recommendations. However, significant concerns emerge regarding reception and administrative operations. Booking appointments presents substantial challenges, with patients reporting difficulty reaching the practice by phone, lengthy waiting times on hold, and a narrow booking window that creates accessibility barriers. Reception staff communication frequently falls short of professional standards, with multiple accounts of discourteous behaviour, dismissiveness, and lack of courtesy when handling patient requests.

Operational inefficiencies compound these reception issues. Patients describe prolonged delays in accessing care, administrative processing delays, and inconsistent appointment scheduling practices. Some report being unable to reach the practice despite multiple attempts, while others faced challenges with registration systems and appointment confirmation. A pattern emerges of patients feeling frustrated by the gap between the quality of clinical care and the accessibility and responsiveness of administrative services.

While several patients express satisfaction with their clinical experiences and appreciate the dedication of medical professionals, the recurring themes around booking difficulty, phone access problems, and reception staff conduct suggest systemic administrative challenges that impact overall patient experience and access to care.

Terrible Emergency Appointment Process at Local GP

The emergency appointment system is deeply flawed. Patients and their companions are now forced to schedule consultations online and endure a two-day waiting period. How can anyone expect someone in a critical medical situation to wait that long, especially when the hospital is located far away? This is precisely why we opt for a closer general practitioner. Moreover, the reception staff's communication skills are extremely poor, adding to the overall frustration.

Dismissive Doctor Ignored My Concerns

I left the appointment feeling thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. I had additional health concerns I wanted to discuss, but because I hadn't mentioned them in advance, any attempt to bring them up was immediately dismissed. I'm completely dissatisfied and have consequently decided to switch healthcare providers. The physician was unwilling to even briefly examine my specific issue, despite it seeming like a simple visual check. Her approach made me feel anxious and hesitant, creating an incredibly uncomfortable atmosphere.

Caring Staff, Broken Referral System

Remarkable Medical Care. (Unfortunately, the proposed system for 08/09/25 National Insurance contributors raises serious concerns. The referral process seems flawed and could potentially miss critical health issues like blood pressure abnormalities, temperature variations, or cancer indicators. Patients with disabilities, language limitations, or limited digital access might struggle to adequately communicate their symptoms. The new requirement for patients to submit digital referral forms, which clinicians will then evaluate for appointment eligibility, seems problematic. I'm deeply skeptical about this approach. Currently, patients already face challenges accessing treatment for dental infections, skin conditions, and cancer screenings for high-risk individuals. This appears to be a significant misstep that should be immediately reconsidered. The government's original intention was to provide additional appointment options, not to completely replace existing systems. These changes, developed in February through government consultations without sufficient GP input, are set to take effect in October. This represents a fundamental misinterpretation of the original proposal!) The staff consistently demonstrate warmth and responsiveness, always listening to feedback and addressing concerns. Their proactive approach potentially reduces medical complications, which could ultimately generate cost savings for the National Health Service.

Frustrating medical care with sloppy communication

Regrettably, the medical service provided falls short of expectations. The practice demonstrates significant shortcomings, with prolonged wait times for telephone consultations that ultimately connect patients to temporary staff or nurses who fail to adequately comprehend patient needs, resulting in errors on medical documentation.

Receptionist ruined my entire clinic visit

The staff here, particularly the receptionist, are incredibly unprofessional. Despite my clear request to see a specific doctor, she scheduled me with the wrong one. When I questioned her about this mistake, her attitude was hostile and dismissive. No patient should ever be treated this way. The service is absolutely terrible. However, I must acknowledge that the doctors themselves are quite excellent.

Impossible to Schedule, Rude Staff Everywhere

Attempting to schedule an appointment with this place is an exercise in futility, as their phone lines seem to go nowhere. Even after endless waiting, you're ultimately met with a discourteous front desk staff member who lacks basic professionalism. Their attitude is completely unacceptable - everyone experiences workplace stress, but that's no excuse for treating customers disrespectfully.

Long Wait for Sick Daughter's Doctor Appointment

I recently visited a medical clinic with my 7-year-old daughter, who was suffering from a persistent cough and fever. Despite having a scheduled 4 p.m. appointment, we were left waiting for 20 minutes and then told we hadn't properly registered in their system - with no prior communication about this requirement. The entire experience felt like a complete waste of time, with staff seeming indifferent and merely showing up for their paychecks. Our tax contributions to the NHS appear to be entirely futile. In those rare instances when medical assistance is critically needed, securing a doctor's help becomes nearly impossible. The entire healthcare system feels disrespectful and inefficient. Finding a dentist is equally challenging. The situation deteriorates annually, and I'm seriously considering relocating. The service is so poor that if possible, I would withdraw every penny of funding from the NHS. It's infuriating that five doctors seemingly cannot manage 50 patients daily, whereas in other European countries, a single general practitioner handles such a patient load effortlessly. Their performance suggests laziness combined with greed. As a final insult, there's a prominent notice claiming immediate appointments are available for unwell children - yet this clearly doesn't apply universally. Absolutely frustrating!

Can't Get Through to Anyone

The medical practice is in complete disarray. When I attempt to contact them by phone, which is my sole option since I'm out of town, I'm met with constant frustration. I've dialed their number four separate times, each instance involving a patient wait until I'm the next caller in the queue, only to have the phone continue ringing without any response. This has occurred four consecutive times, and it is utterly unacceptable. If a healthcare facility provides a contact number and instructs patients to call, how can they justify not answering? This negligence creates unwarranted stress for patients who are potentially already experiencing anxiety about their medical concerns due to the staff's sheer incompetence. The whole situation is utterly reprehensible.

Terrible Communication at This Doctors Surgery

Their communication is abysmal, claiming I've allegedly missed multiple appointments, which is completely false. I always ensure I cancel or reschedule if I can't attend, and I have evidence that I called the management team on Monday. It's been a week, and I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me - it's utterly ridiculous. I absolutely cannot recommend this medical practice. If you enjoy having your medication constantly mishandled, then this is the place for you. My advice would be to steer clear of this surgery at all costs.

Rude receptionist after our family's loss

The receptionist's demeanor was utterly inappropriate, particularly given the raw grief my family was experiencing after my mother's recent funeral. Her attitude seemed to mirror complaints from other reviewers, suggesting this isn't an isolated incident. Her unprofessional behavior and apparent lack of empathy toward my father and brother during such a sensitive time raises serious questions about her suitability for a customer-facing role. Perhaps management should reconsider her position at the front desk and prioritize staff who can demonstrate compassion and respect for clients during their most vulnerable moments.

Chloe Dropped My Call After 36 Minutes

I'm utterly appalled by this abysmal service. After enduring a grueling 36-minute wait, I finally connect with a receptionist named Chloe, who merely utters "hello" before my call inexplicably drops. Forced to redial, I'm once again trapped in the endless hold queue, listening to their patronizing message about how "important" my call is - clearly a hollow claim, especially from Chloe's perspective. The reception team demonstrates complete indifference and seems intent on systematically undermining this medical practice's credibility. Their unprofessional conduct is shamefully eroding any semblance of patient respect or quality care.
