Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a significantly divided experience at this practice, with substantial concerns about appointment access and booking systems alongside positive feedback about clinical care quality. The most consistent complaint centres on appointment availability, with patients reporting persistent difficulty reaching the practice by phone, congested phone lines during morning hours, and lengthy waiting times between booking and consultation dates. Reception experience is mixed, with some patients describing courteous and helpful staff whilst others report discourteous interactions and poor communication about appointment status and medication availability. Communication gaps appear systemic, including delayed follow-up, missed referral processing, and inconsistent information provision to patients.

Where patients successfully access clinical consultations, feedback becomes notably more positive. Doctors and nurses are frequently described as compassionate, attentive, and professional, with several patients highlighting responsive care and effective treatment guidance. Online consultation services receive particular praise for convenience and efficiency. However, a minority of reviews raise concerns about clinical decision-making and the quality of some consultations. The practice demonstrates capability in delivering timely medical attention and supportive care experiences when appointments are secured, yet the significant barriers to accessing these services create frustration that dominates much of the feedback.

The contrast between access difficulties and clinical quality suggests organisational challenges in appointment management and communication systems rather than fundamental issues with the care provided. Patients express willingness to continue with the practice when they can access it effectively, but many indicate they are actively seeking alternative providers due to the appointment booking experience. Improvements to phone line capacity, appointment availability, and communication protocols appear to be the primary areas requiring attention.

Bad!

Frustrating healthcare with zero follow-through

The patient interaction at this practice is absolutely abysmal! They flatly refuse to schedule in-person consultations and consistently neglect hospital referral promises they claim they'll handle. The single star rating is essentially a tribute to the struggling reception team, who are seemingly abandoned to manage frustrated patients while the medical staff remain detached. I genuinely sympathize with these frontline workers.

Caring doctors who truly listen

Throughout my two-decade experience with this healthcare provider, I've consistently encountered exceptional care from every medical professional. The doctors and nurses have always been attentive, taking the time to carefully listen to my concerns, engage in thorough discussions, and when appropriate, guide me toward additional specialized treatment.

Dismissive doctor made my pain worse

Spent an entire day anticipating a call from a physician regarding a second medical assessment, and when Dr. Peng finally contacted me, he barely paid attention to my concerns. I explained how his current treatment is robbing me of my quality of life due to unbearable pain. I candidly shared that the agony is so overwhelming that I'm questioning my will to continue living, and my mental health—both depression and anxiety—has reached critical levels. His response was shockingly inadequate: suggesting that if I'm contemplating self-harm, I should first consult my family. What sort of medical professional offers such dismissive advice? Absolutely unacceptable. He doesn't even deserve a single star for his complete lack of compassion and professional care.

Pharmacy nightmare with serious health issue

Absolutely terrible doctors, boyfriend diagnosed with brain tumor and medication is consistently unavailable. They repeatedly attempt to shift blame onto the pharmacy and provide zero assistance. This is a recurring issue where our concerns are completely dismissed and we're essentially ignored every single time.

Rude doctor made mom's visit miserable

Absolutely zero stars for their recent treatment of my mother - it's appalling. The physician, Dr. Khoo, is simply unbearable with his terrible bedside manner. No surprise patients are fleeing this practice - it's completely unacceptable and not even worth considering as a medical provider.

Long waits made worse by sneaky clock

The scheduling process here is absurdly inefficient, with booking an appointment being a nightmare. Once you finally get in, you're guaranteed to sit in the waiting room well past your designated time. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, they even try to manipulate you by keeping the waiting room clock deliberately behind, as though patients won't realize they're being kept waiting.

Frustrating morning call with unhelpful staff

I phoned this morning during their supposed 8 AM opening time, but they claimed they were still closed at 08:02. Each subsequent call was characterized by several rings before being redirected to an automated system that repeatedly announced they were closed. When I finally managed to speak with a representative and inquired about their opening hours, she responded with an extremely discourteous attitude.

Painful first visit left me in tears

I was a first-time patient at this medical practice, and despite typically avoiding unnecessary doctor visits, I had a pressing health concern. Sadly, my experience was traumatic - I left the appointment in tears and significant discomfort. The receptionist showed zero empathy, and the doctor was incredibly dismissive. Throughout my consultation, they constantly interrupted me, refused to let me fully explain my symptoms, and wouldn't even make eye contact. They provided absolutely no meaningful feedback or treatment plan. I am thoroughly appalled by this experience, and it has completely shattered my trust in medical professionals. Their complete lack of compassion and basic human decency is shocking. I sarcastically thank them for the additional emotional distress they've caused me during an already difficult time.

Waited half an hour for nothing

I was scheduled to see Deena the nurse at 1:30, and by 1:55, I approached the male receptionist after waiting nearly 30 minutes. I asked if Deena was available, and he confirmed she was definitely in. I sat back down, only to be called over moments later and told that Deena was actually out sick. The lack of communication at this medical practice is absolutely appalling. To make matters worse, the receptionist then tried to blame me, suggesting I should have checked in manually at the desk instead of using the automatic check-in system. Based on today's experience, I would give this practice a rating of negative 5 stars.

Frustrating wait for an appointment at Old Forge

I've been desperately attempting to secure an appointment at this clinic for three entire months! Every morning, I'm unable to connect, and the last receptionist I interacted with was incredibly discourteous. I'm dealing with a serious health concern, and my doctor remains unaware because they can't allocate time to see patients properly. Old Forge needs to prioritize patient care, not just tell people to call back at 8am only to encounter a perpetually busy line for half an hour. The next available appointment is a week and a half away - this level of service is completely unacceptable!!

Impossible to get an appointment here

It's becoming increasingly frustrating to secure a consultation at the old forge surgery. Today, at 15:45, I attempted to schedule an appointment for any time this week, only to be met with a complete lack of availability. Their response was to tell me to call back at 8 in the morning - completely ignoring the fact that most people have work commitments. When you do try to phone, the line is perpetually engaged about 95% of the time. The whole system is utterly ridiculous and seems designed to make patient access as difficult as possible.
