We have been patients here for about 10 years now and i am appalled at the negative comments. We have always been treated with consideration and care by ALL the professionals and that includes the receptionists. All do a really difficult job ( i know, ive done it) under what can be trying circumstances. Yes sometimes its hard to get exactly the appointment you want but we have always been offered an alternative. When its been more urgent we have been given same day appointments and once a paramedic was sent to my husband at home. Explain your problem in a professional manner and you will be given help. I find you get back what you give out. Believe me there are far worse practices out there.

From my perspective, Gable Surgery is egregiously failing the community it purportedly serves, and I emphatically suggest that oversight authorities conduct a comprehensive investigation into this practice's operations. Currently, it resembles a complete misallocation of resources and public funds. Initially, the administrative team demonstrates remarkable incompetence in managing basic responsibilities. Repeatedly, I've experienced scheduling errors, and today proved no exception. I accompanied my wife to an anticipated appointment after nearly three weeks of waiting, only to be informed it was actually scheduled for the PREVIOUS DAY. No reminder or notification was provided — utterly unacceptable in our contemporary technological landscape. Their response? A perfunctory apology. Such dismissiveness is inadequate when patients' well-being is at risk. Numerous staff members appear inadequately trained, unprofessional, and devoid of the hospitality fundamental to healthcare environments. Some seemingly struggle with professional demands, appearing beyond optimal working age. This represents a disservice not just to patients, but potentially to the employees themselves. My concerns transcend administrative shortcomings. A particularly alarming incident involved a physician attempting to administer an injection to my young daughter. The needle bent during the procedure, causing her significant distress. The doctor — an older woman, seemingly non-native English speaker, likely from Africa — managed the situation without requisite medical professionalism or compassion. The experience was traumatizing for both my daughter and our family. Securing an appointment remains an insurmountable challenge. We're consistently advised to wait 2–3 weeks, even for urgent medical needs. The notion of 'emergency care' appears entirely absent.

Worst medical experience ever painful and unprofessional
Completely useless service. I visited to receive an immunization, and the physician failed to locate the correct vein on my left arm, making two unsuccessful attempts before switching to my right arm. The level of professionalism was shockingly low. To make matters worse, the front desk staff was discourteous and painfully inefficient. It's no surprise that patients experience such extended wait times - the receptionist seems more interested in watching the minutes pass than providing any meaningful assistance.

Two years back, their service was commendable. Now, things have drastically changed. They informed me that advance booking isn't possible, and the only way to be seen is to arrive early when they open and check in at reception for same-day treatment. Following their instructions, I sacrificed an entire day's earnings, arriving thirty minutes before opening and waiting in the chilly weather. Despite being the first and only person there when doors opened, I approached the reception to check in, only to be told all appointment slots were already filled. It's been a quarter of a year, and I'm still unable to secure an appointment.

There's a specific receptionist whose communication skills are so poor that she desperately requires comprehensive customer service training. I've been privately informed that a certain GP has been inappropriately providing their direct contact number to selected patients, enabling them to bypass standard booking procedures. This practice is unethical and violates professional standards, and it must be immediately addressed. Let's not overlook Tanya, who spoke with my husband, documented something, and then later denied our conversation when confronted. Upon checking the system, she discovered her error but offered no apology - how unprofessional! The new trainee is clearly unsuitable and should immediately seek employment elsewhere. She provided incorrect out-of-hours contact information, which speaks volumes about her inadequate training and competence. Worst gp service ever with unhelpful receptionists
There's absolutely no use attempting to schedule an appointment. I've been trying to reach someone online since morning, so I ended up going to the walk-in clinic at the hospital. For three consecutive days, I've been unable to secure an appointment. This seems to be their new cost-cutting strategy, but I must say the administration is incredibly poor. Moreover, why are elderly receptionists who struggle to comprehend basic communication still working here? I don't fault the individual worker, but the management that continues to employ her despite her limitations. Why should someone of her age be working in such a role? It's ridiculous to keep her employed. She consistently tells patients to call back or return later, accomplishing nothing. She should be resting at home at her age, not working here! We need them to respect our time and provide a more efficient service at this medical practice.
