Frustrating care and impossible appointments

Terrible medical professionals who prescribe medication and then arbitrarily decide when to reassess it, forcing you to discontinue without proper consultation. Scheduling an appointment is nearly impossible.

Parking nightmare at busy medical center

The parking situation at this medical facility is completely absurd. Patients are instructed in appointment reminders to arrive early, yet there's nowhere to park. We've just managed to find a spot after waiting 25 minutes, with 8 vehicles circling like vultures, hoping someone will leave. Even the drop-off area is congested, eliminating that as a viable alternative.

Going downhill.

I used to recommend this practice to everyone. However, the new appointment booking service is utterly ridiculous, there is only one day per week you are able to book appointments. If you use the econsult service to try to save time or just access a GP 9 times out of 10 the response is ‘contact the surgery to book an appointment’. Which you can’t do until the following Tuesday, so if your problem occurs on a Wednesday it’s either use an emergency appointment for something which could have been sorted over the phone, or wait until the following week. Definitely do not recommend this practice anymore.

Quick blood test and doctor visit today

I was scheduled for a blood test later in the day at 4:30, but I called the medical center this morning hoping to secure a doctor's consultation in the near future. To my pleasant surprise, they offered me a slot at 3:00 p.m. on the same day. Arriving at 2:50, I approached the receptionist and inquired about the possibility of having my blood drawn during this visit to avoid a return trip. In no time, I was called in by the nurse who swiftly and professionally collected my blood sample, followed immediately by a doctor's consultation! Exceptional service! I want to express my sincere appreciation for Gas House Lane surgery. Their staff consistently demonstrates a willingness to assist and an impressive level of efficiency. Kudos to the entire team, and thank you for your outstanding care!

Dr starky's rude reception moment

Utterly disgraceful, I am completely fed up with the unacceptable behavior from Staff at this Surgery, Particularly Dr Graham Starky. Today I politely requested an estimated wait time from a Reception staff member for the Nurse (who was running behind), as I had commitments. The response should have been straightforward - simply providing me with an approximate time. Instead, she repeatedly suggested rescheduling my appointment - an appointment I had been waiting weeks for and specifically arranged time to attend. Dr Graham Starky was present in Reception during this discussion and inappropriately intervened. During our conversation, I used the term 'Sweetheart' - a friendly term I use universally - and he abruptly told me not to patronise him. Upon hearing this, I refused to accept such treatment when I had done nothing wrong. I informed him that if he perceived my words as patronising, he clearly has sensitivity issues he needs to address. He then proceeded to label me as rude and suggested he might withhold treatment. He was visibly taken aback when I confronted him with the truth and was unable to swallow his pride and acknowledge his inappropriate behavior. His reaction appeared to stem from projecting his own personal insecurities onto me, attempting to label me as rude and threatening to deny medical care. Clearly, this was a transparent attempt to reassert his authority after being challenged, knowing deep down that my assessment was accurate. This GP needs to learn to separate his personal issues from his professional responsibilities and stop mistreating patients. The surgery claims they 'will not tolerate Rudeness from patients' - a standard that should equally apply to their own staff's conduct towards patients.
