Feedback reflects a deeply mixed experience at this practice, with stark contrasts between clinical and administrative services. Medical professionals, including doctors and nursing staff, consistently receive praise for compassionate, skilled care and responsive urgent attention. However, appointment access remains a significant challenge, with patients reporting long waiting times on phone lines, difficulty securing same-day or routine slots, and frustration with booking system functionality. Reception experience is inconsistent, ranging from warm and helpful to dismissive and unprofessional, with some patients noting staff appear rushed or unwilling to listen to full concerns.
The practice's recent shift to digital booking platforms has generated polarised responses. Some patients appreciate the efficiency and ability to schedule appointments online without extended phone waits, while others find the systems dysfunctional, confusing, or unable to display available slots. Communication gaps also emerge as a recurring theme, including delayed test result notifications and unclear information about wait times. Long-standing patients express particular disappointment at perceived service decline, noting the contrast between current accessibility challenges and the practice's former reputation.
While clinical care quality remains high, the combination of difficult appointment access, inconsistent reception courtesy, and booking system issues has prompted some patients to consider alternative providers. Success appears to depend heavily on which staff member patients encounter and whether they can navigate the current administrative processes.

Terrible GP Practice, Zero Communication
An absolute nightmare of a general practitioner who falls short in every aspect. Their communication is abysmal, they arbitrarily deny repeat prescription requests without valid explanation, and their patient care and customer service are dismally inadequate.

Long Wait for Basic Healthcare Needed
Securing a timely consultation with my general practitioner has proven to be quite challenging. The scheduling process is frustratingly slow, and wait times are excessive. When I need medical attention, the difficulty in booking a prompt appointment becomes a significant source of stress and inconvenience.

Rude Receptionist Ruined My Diabetes Appointment
Previously, this medical practice was exceptional in managing appointments, with consistently excellent physicians. However, my recent experience with a receptionist has been deeply disappointing while attempting to schedule a diabetes blood check appointment. The staff member became visibly irritated when I was struggling to comprehend the proposed dates and times, and made no effort to confirm my availability or provide clear guidance. Despite understanding that procedures might have evolved, I found her approach unprofessionally aggressive and unhelpful. Her lack of patience and unwillingness to explain the changes clearly was unacceptable. As a result of this interaction, I am now seriously contemplating transferring my medical care to an alternative practice.

Long Wait for Urgent Ear Infection Concerns
I'm attempting to schedule a consultation for my 10-year-old daughter who might have an ear infection, and I've already spent 32 minutes waiting on hold. The earliest appointment I can find online is two weeks from now, which is completely unsatisfactory.

Blue Inhaler Saved Me While Traveling
I've consistently received top-notch treatment at Glebe Road Surgery - they're truly outstanding and make extraordinary efforts to assist patients. I was especially grateful when they prescribed a blue asthma inhaler for me via remote consultation while I was away from home. Heartfelt thanks to the entire team! :)

Doctors Great, But Reception Needs Work
The medical practitioners at this general practice are compassionate and highly skilled. They've consistently provided excellent care for my entire family, and I deeply appreciate their support. However, the administrative staff and front desk personnel are shockingly inadequate. They demonstrate an inflexible and almost hostile approach to patient service, rigidly adhering to protocols even when those protocols defy common sense. I experienced this firsthand when my daughter was suffering intense pain, and I was struggling to schedule an urgent appointment. The receptionist complained about background noise and appeared irritated by my distressing circumstances, showing a complete lack of empathy. Their behavior was thoroughly unprofessional. If management doesn't address these serious issues with their reception and appointment systems, patients will inevitably seek healthcare elsewhere.

Frustrating wait times at this clinic
Never able to get through when I contact them, even right at opening time. Their management seems disorganized and they consistently run behind schedule. Frequent interruptions and setbacks make this service impossible to endorse.

Frustrating wait times and poor communication
During my visits to Glebe Road in person, the doctors have consistently been supportive, but the receptionists have been notably less accommodating, often appearing hostile and rushed. While I recognize the immense challenges of working in healthcare currently, their approach lacks professionalism. Transitioning to online services has exposed how antiquated this medical practice truly is. It feels like stepping back in time. Their appointment booking process is incredibly frustrating, with wait times of at least 20 minutes, only to be informed that phone consultations are unavailable for a fortnight. Securing in-person appointments has been even more challenging. Surprisingly, my college communicated recent personal bereavements to Glebe Road without my permission, and this was ironically the sole instance I managed to secure an appointment - one I hadn't even requested. Furthermore, I'm perplexed by their communication protocol regarding test results. After being referred for blood tests and an ultrasound at Queen Marys hospital and promised a follow-up call, I repeatedly found myself initiating contact with the receptionist, discovering they had my results but hadn't proactively informed me.

Terrible GP Surgery in Twickenham
We transferred our general practitioner from Twickenham just five months ago, and it has been an absolute nightmare. The medical practice is completely unhelpful, constantly redirecting patients to pharmacies or the emergency room instead of providing proper care. Registering with this surgery was undoubtedly a terrible decision 👎👎

Frustrating appointments at this surgery now
This medical practice used to be top-notch. Now they attempt to redirect you to Essex house and snicker like immature kids when scheduling an appointment 3-4 weeks in advance! Such an utterly unprofessional operation. I believe it's time to find a new healthcare provider!

Rude receptionist ruined my long-time practice
Edit: response from the manager just confirms how disconnected this medical practice is. As a patient, I have a fundamental right to privacy. The receptionist was not seeking necessary information, having already scheduled my appointment when she chose to probe further after I explained my inability to attend. Her statement, 'You know the doctor can't help you if you're abroad, so why make a phone appointment,' is completely inappropriate when I'm trying to consult my doctor about potential medical concerns that might impact my travel. Go elsewhere, they truly lack compassion here. I'm unfamiliar with this new receptionist, but she has completely discouraged me from booking future appointments at Glebe Road. Her demeanor is hostile and intrusive, and instead of simply scheduling an appointment as requested, she insists on offering unsolicited opinions and asking invasive questions beyond her professional scope. Unless she possesses medical credentials, I cannot comprehend why she feels compelled to interject herself into my personal medical matters. Medical issues are inherently private and confidential. My purpose in contacting my doctor is to speak directly with them, not to be interrogated by a receptionist. Having been registered at Glebe Road since childhood, and now approaching 30, it's deeply disappointing that this new receptionist seems intent on overstepping professional boundaries.

Declining Care After 30 Years
I've been associated with this medical practice for nearly three decades. Once, it was an exceptional surgery with outstanding physicians. Dr. Olney, in particular, was remarkable but has now retired. While the pandemic has undoubtedly challenged healthcare providers, this surgery has significantly declined in quality. The reception staff are consistently unpleasant and unhelpful. Getting through on the phone is incredibly difficult, and by the time you do, all daily appointments have vanished. Securing a face-to-face consultation seems virtually impossible. This seems unreasonable, especially considering people can easily book hair and nail appointments. Apparently, the practice partners have established strict criteria for in-person consultations, and unless you precisely match their requirements, you're restricted to telephone appointments. These remote consultations are equally inconsistent - some weeks they're available, other weeks they're not. Over the past 18 months, I've had numerous telephone consultations with unfamiliar doctors attempting to prescribe treatments without ever meeting me in person. I consistently fail to qualify for face-to-face interactions, which has become completely unacceptable. Consequently, I've made the difficult decision to terminate my relationship with this practice. It's truly heartbreaking to witness such a decline.

Unprofessional Doctor Mocked My Concerns

Frustrating phone call with unresponsive doctor
Scheduling a medical consultation for my ailing child has been an absolute nightmare. After considerable difficulty, I finally secured a phone consultation with the doctor. How can a proper medical assessment possibly be conducted remotely? General practitioners are systematically avoiding in-person patient interactions. Their focus appears to be entirely on financial negotiations with governmental authorities, effectively holding public healthcare hostage to achieve their demands. Such tactics are unacceptable, especially when patient welfare should be the paramount concern. As an educator, I'm compelled to continue teaching in environments that are currently breeding grounds for viral transmission. The medical profession's response during the Covid pandemic has been profoundly disappointing, demonstrating a complete disregard for professional ethics and patient care. I strongly recommend reading the illuminating article in the Telegraph from 21 September, which exposes these deeply troubling practices. The situation is absolutely appalling!
