Staff remember patients and handle needle anxiety well

This health centre is a fantastic surgery. I originally moved from a smaller country practice and wanted to recreate that sense of personal care. It's the feeling of the staff knowing patients as individuals rather than being just another person in the system, which can happen in larger practices. The team are excellent, and the clinician I see is absolutely brilliant. The clinical staff are all aware of my anxiety around medical procedures and handle this with gentleness and patience. When you call at opening time, they can usually accommodate you the same day, though appointments do fill up quickly, which I think is a sign of a well-regarded practice. The regulatory rating is excellent. Patient care is clearly the priority. It's a great practice and I'm very grateful for the care provided.

Receptionist put me at ease when unwell

I was visiting the area from out of town and became unwell, so I contacted the surgery to request an appointment. The receptionist was excellent, very supportive and reassuring when I was feeling distressed. They managed to schedule me in with a clinician within a few hours. I received a comprehensive examination and was prescribed medication to help with my condition. It's refreshing to find a practice that delivers such high-quality care, as this standard seems increasingly rare. Outstanding experience ***** Highly recommended.

Reception staff were dismissive and unhelpful

I would recommend avoiding this particular clinician, as I found their approach to be rather unsympathetic and their manner felt blunt and lacking in warmth. The consultation lacked empathy and reassurance, and I felt dismissed throughout. I left the appointment feeling more anxious than when I arrived. This experience has had lasting impacts on my wellbeing. I would suggest seeking appointments with other practitioners at the practice instead.

I have previously held this practice in high regard, but recent experiences involving myself and my family member have caused me to reconsider. The standard of care and service appears to have declined significantly, and I am no longer confident recommending this practice to others.

Given time and honest about what's possible

The practice strikes me as exceptional. The attention and assistance I have experienced of late has been remarkably compassionate and encouraging. I have been afforded sufficient time during consultations, presented with choices and support across all aspects of my care. I have also appreciated their straightforward approach regarding waiting periods and their willingness to explore other avenues to provide help where feasible.
