Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience at this practice, with notable contrasts between clinical and administrative service quality. Several patients report positive interactions with medical staff, describing supportive and compassionate care, particularly for complex health needs and mental health concerns. Reception and booking experiences, however, emerge as significant pain points. Patients consistently describe appointment access difficulties, with extended phone waiting times, rapid booking slot depletion, and poor communication between reception and clinical staff. Multiple reviews highlight dismissive reception attitudes and insufficient follow-up after appointments are scheduled.
Continuity of care presents another concern, with some patients reporting that clinical staff do not review hospital correspondence or previous medical history, affecting the quality of consultations. Communication breakdowns between departments appear systemic, with reception staff failing to pass information to doctors and inconsistent handling of patient requests. While some patients praise the welcoming environment and professional expertise of specific clinicians, others describe unwelcoming reception experiences and lack of responsiveness to patient needs.
The practice shows capability in delivering compassionate clinical care and responsive telephone consultations when accessed, yet struggles with appointment availability, booking system efficiency, and internal staff coordination. These operational challenges appear to be the primary driver of negative patient experiences, overshadowing positive clinical interactions for many service users.

Impossible to get an appointment at this clinic
I've been attempting to secure a doctor's appointment for my 6-year-old daughter at this general practice. When I phoned early in the morning, I was informed that all slots were fully booked and was advised to try again at 2 pm for afternoon availability. I carefully set an alarm to ensure I didn't miss the designated time and called precisely at 2 pm. After waiting in the queue, I was finally attended to at 2:06, only to be told that all afternoon appointments had already been filled. I am completely baffled by how anyone manages to successfully book an appointment at this medical practice.

Run from this dangerous and dismissive doctor
I was under Dr Mason's care for approximately a year. During 3/4 of my appointments, he consistently disregarded my persistent symptoms, avoiding any diagnostic tests and simply attributing everything to anxiety, recommending therapy instead. He completely dismissed recommendations from hospital physicians and my previous doctor's insights, patronizingly suggesting that my concerns were invalid because I was "not in my home country" and "that's not how things are done here". He also blatantly overlooked my clear anemia, which was evident in my blood test results. Upon switching to a new GP practice, the new doctor proactively ordered an MRI, thoroughly examined all my legitimate concerns, and demonstrated genuine commitment to addressing my serious health issues. Avoid this doctor at all costs, seriously.

Lifelong care with an incredible nurse named alison
I've been coming to this medical center for decades, having first started as a child patient with Dr. Bose at the Robson Street location over 40 years ago, which is now known as Great Homer Street Medical. Alison, my nurse, is exceptional. She demonstrates remarkable thoughtfulness and consistently exceeds expectations to ensure my comprehensive care. Her medical expertise is outstanding, and she approaches every inquiry with remarkable patience and crystal-clear explanations. More than just a consummate professional, Alison is a warm, compassionate individual who transforms each medical visit into a genuinely pleasant interaction. I deeply value her unwavering commitment and the sense of ease she provides during every appointment. My heartfelt gratitude goes to Alison for being such an integral part of this practice. Her exceptional care and genuine kindness are truly appreciated and do not go unrecognized!

Worst healthcare experience ever terrible service
The employees display an utterly unwelcoming demeanor. They hastily pass judgment without giving you a chance to explain. Even when you're standing directly in front of them, they're engrossed in conversation with each other. It's truly disheartening. Their lack of professionalism is appalling 😔 They make empty promises of assistance but consistently fail to follow through. There's a complete absence of compassion for patients

Worst medical clinic experience ever frustrating wait
We scheduled an appointment for my spouse via telephone, only to endure a wait exceeding 5 hours with zero follow-up communication. Upon reaching out again, the receptionist instructed us to call back at 2 PM to attempt rebooking. Absolutely terrible customer service.

Terrible service from dr abrams medical practice
I've been a patient of Dr. Abrams for over 25 years, but his practice has seriously declined since moving from Great Homer st. The reception staff are dismissive and unhelpful on the phone, unable to handle even a simple phone number update. Regardless of your issue, you're always told to call back at specific times, only to be met with a perpetual engaged tone until appointments are fully booked. Despite my blood pressure reaching as high as 200, nothing has changed. I've provided my new contact number three times, and while it's correct in the MyGP app, they continue to call and text my old number, preventing me from discussing my health concerns with the doctor. Dr. Mason is equally problematic, never reviewing hospital correspondence, so during consultations, he's completely unaware of my medical history. He seems to deliberately provoke reactions from patients and then documents any negative responses in medical records, conveniently omitting details that might reflect poorly on him. (Many similar reviews about him are available online) I'm actively searching for a new GP and strongly recommend avoiding this practice.

Unethical doctor endangers vulnerable patient's health
Dr Craig Mason denied essential mobility support to a Liverpool-born patient with severe mental and physical disabilities, leaving a man unable to walk due to a prolapsed bowel in excruciating pain. This medical practice is absolutely dangerous and should be completely avoided by anyone concerned about their wellbeing. The doctor engaged in inappropriate and disturbing behaviors, asking invasive personal questions instead of providing necessary medical assistance like a wheelchair or crutches. The entire experience was deeply unsettling and unprofessional, with the GP displaying an alarming level of indifference to the patient's critical medical needs.

Frustrating miscommunication ruins patient's trust
this is the first unsatisfactory interaction i've experienced here after being a patient for nearly two years. when i phoned to request medication, the receptionist scheduled a doctor's appointment. i then waited for the doctor's call, only to be criticized for having an appointment, with him stating it should be reserved for patients seeking medical guidance. he suggested i should have spoken directly to a receptionist instead. however, it was the receptionist herself who originally booked the appointment for me, so i'm puzzled why i'm being held responsible. wouldn't it have been simpler for her to just handle my medication request directly?

Frustrating healthcare experience with unhelpful staff
Absolutely dreadful customer service experience. When attempting to schedule a consultation for my wife, the phone representative dismissively redirected her without acknowledging her intricate medical background, insisting she should consult a pharmacist directly. Upon reaching the pharmacist, they immediately recoiled after hearing about her medical condition and swiftly recommended returning to her general practitioner. However, when contacting the medical practice again, they curtly stated all appointments were fully booked and offered no assistance whatsoever.

Terrible doctor with dangerous ego problem
Dr. Abraham exhibits an inflated sense of self-importance; while he's skilled at communication, his medical competence is severely lacking. In comparison, the other healthcare professionals at the practice are much more reliable and effective.

Terrible receptionists ruin a potentially great medical experience
The medical staff are fine, but the front desk personnel are problematic. They seem to have an inflated sense of importance, consistently fail to forward necessary information to the doctors, and display a dismissive attitude. These receptionists need to understand their professional role and stop acting like they're in charge of the entire practice.

Worst healthcare experience ever terrible communication
Steer clear of this disaster at all costs. Their service is utterly unprofessional and shockingly disrespectful. Zero communication exists between staff members in this so-called "professional" practice. An absolute joke of an experience 🤣

Compassionate doctor goes above and beyond expectations
I recently visited Dr. Mason for the first time and found him to be an exceptional physician who enhances the medical practice. During my initial phone consultation, after discussing my symptoms, he promptly invited me for an in-person examination that very same day, even after his scheduled appointments had concluded. I've since undergone a gastroscopy and am currently anticipating my upcoming colonoscopy. Moreover, I must emphasize that every single receptionist and nurse at the practice is incredibly welcoming and remarkably proficient in their roles!

Lifesaving doctor who truly cared when others wouldn't
Found the most understanding and non-judgmental doctor possible - consulted him two decades ago when I was struggling with substance abuse, a situation other physicians in the area completely avoided. He was principled yet never came across as sanctimonious. Though I haven't seen or spoken to him in 20 years, I'm hoping to reconnect this week and plan to leave my contact information with the clinic. I really want to express my profound appreciation for his compassion and assistance during the most challenging period of my life.

Great medical practice with caring staff
We recently switched to this medical practice and couldn't be happier. Multiple people had suggested we try them, and after being here for around four weeks, I can genuinely say our experience has been excellent. The staff provided us with a warm reception, and most notably, they conducted a comprehensive check-up for my son with special needs - something our previous healthcare provider completely neglected. Another significant improvement is their appointment scheduling, which allows us to book slots twice daily, compared to our old surgery's single 8am window. We are thoroughly satisfied with our transition and this new practice.

Terrible service and disrespect from unprofessional staff
Delivered ahead of schedule! However, because of the staff's carelessness, my husband was left waiting pointlessly for sixty minutes, with zero acknowledgment or expression of regret. He was forced to reschedule. The most frustrating aspect was receiving a text message criticizing him for not showing up, as if he were the one at fault.

Terrible service from unprofessional medical staff
This medical practice is a complete farce. The front desk staff are deceitful, and the physicians show minimal interest in patients. Dr. Abrams barely spends half a minute with you, while the receptionists seem to find humor in mocking patients with their snide remarks. I cannot suggest this clinic to anyone 😕 with the sole exception of Dr. Clayton and Bonnie, who appear to be the only competent healthcare providers in the entire office!

Caring doctors who genuinely listen and help
I can confidently say this medical practice is top-tier. While there are occasional phone wait times and scheduling can be tricky, these challenges are universal across the NHS and stem from systemic issues rather than the practice itself. Whenever I've reached out, even if a direct appointment wasn't immediately available, the doctors have been proactive in providing telephone consultations. Their commitment to patient care is evident, and they consistently demonstrate genuine effort to support and assist their patients.

Frustrating healthcare experience with impossible appointment booking
I spent the entire morning attempting to schedule an appointment for my sick ten-year-old, making over 100 phone calls. Initially, I heard a pre-recorded message, and when I immediately redialed, the line was busy. I remained on hold for more than thirty minutes, intermittently hearing automated messages about their operating hours. While I recognize they might be experiencing high call volumes, this has become a consistent issue every time I try to book an appointment. As a result, I'm now sitting in an overcrowded walk-in center with my seriously unwell child, and I've decided to find a new medical practice that offers better accessibility and communication.

Terrible healthcare service for elderly patient
The service provided to my elderly father, a long-standing patient from Great Homer Street, was absolutely abysmal. It's unacceptable that I had to manage every single detail surrounding his GP visits, including the circumstances before and after his three hospital admissions, which were initially denied by the doctor. I was forced to call emergency services when my 89-year-old father was taken to the CRITICAL UNIT. He spent an average of 5 weeks in hospital on each occasion, following repeated refusals by his GP to admit him. During one visit, the GP even forgot a crucial testing kit and still refused admission. Just over an hour after the GP visit, I had to contact emergency services, resulting in my father being hospitalized for more than a month. For legal reasons, I won't disclose the GP's name, but this treatment is completely unacceptable. Fortunately, as my father's son and caregiver, I took it upon myself to call emergency services, and from the first moment to his discharge, they were absolutely outstanding – first-class, excellent, and consistently informative and helpful throughout each visit.
