Unprofessional doctor body shames birthday girl

I'm appalled by the insensitive advice my daughter received from her physician on her 21st birthday. The doctor claimed she's too overweight to be prescribed birth control and suggested she should weigh around 98 pounds. This statement is completely absurd and has left her devastated and feeling awful about herself. The medical professional's approach was cruel and totally inappropriate, causing unnecessary emotional distress on what should have been a special day.

Their level of service ranges from utterly inefficient to downright indifferent. Despite having barely any patients in the waiting area, they seem perfectly content to make you cool your heels for a solid 20 minutes.

It's incredibly frustrating when a receptionist can't even manage to schedule an appointment right in front of you! This establishment is completely ridiculous - they'd rather tell you to call back later or use their online system. Whatever happened to basic customer service? Not everyone wants to constantly navigate technology or do the staff's work for them. The lack of personal interaction is appalling.

Having resided in this neighborhood for nearly a decade, I can confidently say this medical center has consistently delivered outstanding care for both myself and my kids. I've consulted numerous physicians here, and each has been remarkably professional. I want to specifically commend Dr. Tim Greig, whom I've recently consulted multiple times and who has been exceptional - he even followed up with a thoughtful phone call a week after my appointment to ensure my well-being. Booking an appointment is incredibly convenient, with slots readily available within a day or two after completing the online request form. Although initial scheduling seemed challenging, the receptionist collaborated with the nursing staff to secure an available slot. She then connected me directly with the on-call physician, who saw me immediately! While I recognize this level of service might not be universal, my advice is to communicate openly with them - they genuinely make an effort to help.

When I shared that I had already spent 20 minutes trying to arrange an appointment through the doctors' surgery reception, I was met with no helpful solution. Subsequently, I wasted another 30 minutes figuring out that I needed to use the surgery's specific website—not the NHS site—to request an appointment. The entire process was unnecessarily complicated and far more convoluted than simply calling and having a receptionist book the appointment for me.

This medical practice is utterly ineffective across multiple dimensions. As a newcomer to the region, I attempted to use their services, only to encounter continuous disappointment. They consistently fail to deliver on basic promises, such as sending requested documents within the committed timeframe. The medical staff have been discourteous, and I've experienced multiple instances of being scheduled for incorrect appointments. Their approach to patient care is remarkably detached and impersonal. Whenever one attempts to contact them via telephone, they invariably redirect patients to their online platform, which ironically seems perpetually non-functional. The physicians appear disinterested in genuinely helping patients, demonstrating a distinct lack of specialized knowledge and an inability to provide meaningful, pertinent medical guidance.

This is a top-notch medical facility that provides excellent patient care. Although I didn't need to see a physician, I scheduled a routine consultation with a nurse for the following week.

Frustrating healthcare with poor service and communication

Medical practices these days are nothing more than impersonal call centers. Securing an appointment is nearly impossible, with everything routed through mygp, and response times can stretch up to three days. The physicians seem to work minimal hours, resulting in zero continuity of care with the same medical professionals. Some doctors persist in attributing every medical issue to COVID, as they did with my partner, despite her knowing her symptoms were unrelated. Thankfully, a second opinion revealed an entirely different condition requiring surgical intervention. Their administrative processes are in complete disarray. Despite moving three years ago, we've repeatedly had to remind them about incorrect address details. When our daughter relocated and informed them of her address change, they inexplicably altered our details as well. So much for maintaining patient confidentiality - the entire operation is a complete mess.

Doctors dodge duties while patients suffer needlessly

Any pretext to dodge patient interactions, as others have noted, physicians seemingly enjoy a 5-day weekend for mysterious reasons, constantly finding ways to avoid making referrals regardless of circumstances!!! You might have critical health issues requiring immediate attention, yet the best response you'll receive is a promise to schedule something in half a year, followed by skeptical questioning about whether you truly need medical consultation. What purpose do these professionals serve if not to care for their patients??? Why pursue a career as a general practitioner if unwilling to execute fundamental responsibilities?? The front desk staff are delightful, absolutely charming, and the doctors appear personable, but are frustratingly hesitant to pursue diagnostic investigations - to the extent that I've endured two years of waiting for surgical evaluation, consistently receiving minimal information, only to discover I now require multiple surgical procedures!! These medical professionals desperately need reminding of their core professional obligations: they exist to provide assistance, not to be condescending and obstruct patients' access to essential healthcare!!!

Terrible gp practice with zero patient care

Throughout my two decades in the UK, this GP practice has been the most frustrating experience when trying to secure an appointment. As I approach my mid-forties, I have yet to receive an invitation for a health check, and now I'm noticing various health changes. When I attempt to book an appointment, I'm directed to "AskmyGP," which demands internet access, computer skills, and if that fails, I'm told to call back for assistance. Why can't they provide direct help during my initial contact? Are they simply too idle to perform the job taxpayers fund? If "AskmyGP" represents their future approach, why maintain receptionists who offer no meaningful support to patients, demonstrate no empathy, and essentially become an unnecessary financial burden on taxpayers? I am completely exhausted by this practice. Tragically, my healthcare depends entirely on their ineffective system. Moving from London to Shepton Mallet has placed me in an utterly hopeless situation. I might as well be facing a medical death sentence.
