Multiple patient reviews highlight significant systemic issues with appointment scheduling, reception staff attitude, and administrative processes. While some doctors like Dr. Diaz, Dr.
Tucker, and Dr. Mount receive high praise for exceptional care, the overall patient experience is marred by long wait times, difficulty booking appointments, poor communication, and inconsistent service. The medical practice appears to struggle with patient-centric approaches, creating frustration and potential barriers to timely healthcare access.

Bad!
Frustrating wait times for doctor appointments
Over the past two and a half months, I've been completely unable to secure a medical consultation at my general practitioner's office, which has left me thoroughly frustrated and let down.

Poor!
Terrible healthcare with endless waiting and errors
Scheduling an appointment seems impossible, and they consistently bungle medication refills. Phone wait times are excessive, and the administrative staff appears to outnumber the actual medical professionals.

Amazing doctor at grovelands medical center
Dr. Smith at Grovelands Medical Center was absolutely phenomenal - truly the most exceptional healthcare professional I've encountered. His warm demeanor and excellent communication skills made my entire medical visit a complete pleasure. I left feeling completely satisfied and grateful for such outstanding care. 🥰

Poor!
Caring staff, frustrating appointment booking nightmare
The medical staff are absolutely fantastic, but their appointment scheduling process is incredibly frustrating. I spent three consecutive weeks calling precisely at 9:30 AM attempting to secure a consultation, yet I consistently failed and had to try again the following day. Despite being punctual and dialing exactly at 9:30, I still couldn't manage to book an appointment. I'm left wondering why we can't simply return to the previous system of online self-booking.

Terrible service for my sick daughter's care
I'm deeply frustrated with the patient care here. When I contacted them regarding my daughter's potential chicken pox, they dismissed my concerns and refused to schedule an appointment unless she displayed additional symptoms. Their approach seems counterintuitive - they're essentially suggesting I wait until her condition deteriorates before seeking medical attention. This stance is completely unacceptable. If there's a possibility she has chicken pox, shouldn't the responsible approach be to examine and treat her early, preventing the illness from worsening? I find their handling of this situation entirely inappropriate and am extremely dissatisfied with their lack of proactive healthcare.

Overgrown path makes walking a dangerous adventure
The Oxford Road pathway is completely overgrown, resembling a dense wilderness. Vegetation has completely consumed the walkway, with tree branches drooping precariously low. As someone standing 6'4", I'm forced to hunch down and navigate through this green tunnel, which feels utterly humiliating.

Elderly parents suffer from prescription negligence nightmare
UPDATE 1: The subpar repeat prescription service persists and has now reached an unacceptable low. My elderly parents (78 & 88), who rely on daily medication, have been without their essential drugs for two weeks, now entering the third week. The breakdown in communication between the surgery and the pharmacy in Meadway Precinct (recently changing from Boots to Lloyds, with an unreliable contact number) has completely failed to provide the care my parents have rightfully earned through decades of national insurance contributions. It's absolutely disgraceful. I support my parents with their medical needs and have consistently found this surgery incompetent in managing appointment bookings and repeat prescriptions for over five years. Despite numerous attempts to provide clear information and highlight previous service failures, we continually face delivery problems, incorrect orders, missing items, poor communication, and appointment scheduling errors. Often, staff are unable to recall or locate notes for scheduled appointments. The surgery has historically experienced high staff turnover, with frequent changes at the front desk. This constant rotation of unfamiliar faces can be deeply unsettling for my parents, as they encounter staff who appear rushed, uncertain, and lacking confidence in their roles and procedures. This has been my overall experience with the practice. However, I have noticed some improvement in staff stability during my last two visits over the past three months.

Terrible service but great doctor saves the day
The front desk staff are terrible and overly nosy, always trying to pry into personal conversations meant to be confidential with the doctor. Dr. Mount is excellent, but despite this, I have a strong dislike for the entire medical facility.

Worst medical service ever frustrating and unhelpful
Securing a medical consultation here is incredibly challenging. I simply requested a brief phone conversation at the GP's convenience to adjust my prescription, yet was instructed to call back on Monday. When I suggested they schedule an appointment at their leisure since it wasn't urgent, they made it seem like an insurmountable task. Additionally, I submitted an online repeat prescription request five days ago, and it remains unauthorized. Am I expected to just give up and perish? It seems that would be more convenient for them. This healthcare practice is so incompetent that they should be prohibited from providing medical services.

Caring doctors, frustrating appointment system and staff
The medical professionals here are truly exceptional! However, the appointment scheduling process is utterly frustrating, and there's absolutely no justification for having to share personal health details with receptionists who are clearly gossiping within earshot of patients. **UPDATE** I've made numerous attempts to secure an appointment for a progressively worsening health concern, but I'm consistently met with "no availability" and told to call back after 9:30 the following morning, which has proven completely futile. This review now serves as a documented record should my symptoms escalate, as I was effectively denied medical attention by a receptionist lacking any clinical expertise, despite my candid disclosure of my health issues.

Unhelpful clinic failed to address our concerns
Utterly let down. We scheduled a consultation at a private medical facility for our three-year-old child. Following initial examinations, they declined to provide a referral note to a specialist regarding our concerning issue. Best wishes to you!

Great service at grovelands medical centre
Medical practices can often be sources of irritation, yet my recent experiences at Grovelands medical centre have been quite pleasant. I opt for the self-check-in screen, which allows me to bypass the reception queue efficiently. My latest consultations have run precisely to schedule, and the staff I've encountered have been genuinely warm and welcoming. I have an upcoming appointment, so I'll provide another update soon, but my current impression is decidedly positive 😊

Terrible healthcare experience with incompetent medical staff
This is hands-down the most terrible general practitioner I've encountered! Scheduling an appointment is an absolute nightmare that drains your patience. It took me four exhausting weeks just to secure a slot, and that's still another eight days away. Once you arrive, prepare to wait an additional hour beyond your scheduled time. The receptionist treats patients with disrespect, and the doctors seem completely incompetent and clueless. I'm struggling to find words that fully capture how awful this medical practice is... but trust me, it's truly abysmal.

Medication refill nightmare with terrible customer service
I'm experiencing constant obstacles with medication refills at Grovelands. Despite meticulously following their instructions - emailing and having my pharmacy submit requests - they repeatedly claim they "haven't received" anything. I've even resent emails directly from my sent folder to prove my attempts. This situation is deeply distressing for me, especially given my cPTSD, severe anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. These medications are absolutely essential for my daily functioning. Grovelands has transformed a simple medical process into an exhausting bureaucratic ordeal where I'm inexplicably blamed despite doing everything correctly. This experience tragically mirrors the abusive patterns that originally contributed to my cPTSD. They are actively undermining my health by creating an impossible refill process that leaves me constantly anxious and sometimes without critical medications. The endless cycle of phone calls, unintentional gaslighting, and repeated claim of "never received" requests is emotionally devastating. I feel completely helpless and overwhelmed, to the point of wanting to break down in tears.

Challenging surgery but great doctors save the day
Despite challenges with turnover among reception staff and an excessively lengthy recorded phone introduction that can be incredibly frustrating, and waiting times that feel overwhelmingly long, there are redeeming qualities. Specifically, calls are actually answered, and the staff who respond tend to handle inquiries with a commendable level of efficiency and courtesy - something not guaranteed at other nearby medical practices. From my direct interactions, I can confidently say that Dr Mount, Dr Nair, Dr Tucker, and Dr Ireland are exceptional healthcare professionals. They demonstrate remarkable attentiveness and clinical skill, consistently exceeding standard expectations in patient care.

Amazing healthcare that truly cares about patients
Throughout my 32-year history with this medical practice, I can confidently affirm that their service is exceptional. While I'm not a frequent patient, I've consistently experienced timely appointments with outstanding, skilled physicians. I will undoubtedly continue to endorse this surgery to others.
