Patient Experience Summary

Feedback across this file reveals a practice with significant inconsistencies in service quality. Communication and reception experience emerge as persistent concerns, with patients reporting dismissive attitudes, difficulty reaching the practice by phone, and challenges securing appointments. Prescription handling problems appear frequently, including delayed processing, incorrect routing to pharmacies, and incomplete dispensing. Many patients describe feeling unheard during consultations, with doctors allegedly disregarding patient input and concerns. Conversely, some reviews highlight positive experiences with compassionate care, professional expertise, and welcoming atmospheres, suggesting service quality varies considerably across different staff members and clinical encounters.

Appointment access and waiting experiences present mixed pictures, with some patients reporting easy scheduling and minimal delays whilst others describe month-long waits and constantly engaged phone lines. The practice environment receives praise for cleanliness and design in isolated reviews, though operational issues around organisation and responsiveness to patient needs dominate the feedback. Several long-standing patients express disappointment about perceived decline in service standards, citing changes in staffing as contributing factors.

Patients consistently emphasise the importance of respectful communication and responsiveness to their concerns. Where staff demonstrate genuine engagement and listen carefully to patient needs, satisfaction is notably higher. Conversely, experiences involving curt responses, contradictory information, and perceived indifference to patient welfare generate the strongest negative reactions. The feedback suggests that improving consistency in reception courtesy, appointment accessibility, and clinical responsiveness would significantly enhance overall patient experience.

Friendly doctors who actually care

This clinic is fantastic - the staff genuinely care and make me feel valued. I'm delighted I chose to register here. In contrast, my previous medical practice in Ashton provided a significantly less satisfactory experience.

Terrible care left mum suffering

Utterly appalling handling of my mother's medical situation Repeatedly dismissed and given false assurances about support and diagnostic tests, ultimately brushing her symptoms off as mere chronic pain. This negligence escalated to the point where my mum had to seek emergency care, subsequently discovering she had serious infections. Despite clear evidence of medical mismanagement, the doctors continue to evade accountability and provide zero meaningful assistance. The level of professional indifference is completely unacceptable.

Dr Ali's thorough care saved my day

Despite encountering numerous critical comments beforehand, I'll share my personal experience. The service was completely exceptional, with reception personnel demonstrating remarkable professionalism and empathy. The nursing staff was incredibly attentive and proficient. Dr. Ali was remarkably comprehensive and meticulous, leaving absolutely nothing unexplored, consistently listening carefully and displaying genuine compassion when appropriate. In summary, this represents an outstanding team that I would enthusiastically endorse to anyone seeking quality care.

Clueless gps gave wrong breastfeeding advice

The general practitioners at this clinic are absolutely incompetent. I visited due to an infection, and they ludicrously claimed that antibiotics and ibuprofen are off-limits while breastfeeding - which is completely false. Both my midwife and health visitor explicitly confirmed that these medications are safe. When the GP commented "he's looking a little yellow, isn't he?" I was stunned - as if I'm not already having regular midwife appointments and closely monitoring his jaundice, which is actually improving. Their level of ignorance is astounding. It's genuinely concerning that these healthcare professionals are responsible for patient wellbeing yet make such basic errors. My midwives even recommended filing a formal complaint, which I had already initiated after the practice refused to offer face-to-face appointments when they should have been available. In fact, 111 has already submitted a formal complaint to the NHS regarding their practices. My advice: save yourself the frustration and register with a different practice. These doctors are utterly useless.

Long wait and no help at all

The practice's phone line is constantly engaged. Scheduling a consultation seems impossible, with the general practitioner failing to address telephone appointment requests. There are unacceptable wait times for medical diagnosis and treatment, and the medical staff demonstrate discourteous and unhelpful attitudes.

Unfair treatment from dr ali at night

06/09/2021: I've been registered with this medical practice for over three decades, and suddenly, after providing a genuine review, I'm removed from their patient list using a boundary excuse. Well, if I'm frank, I won't miss Dr. Ali's condescending demeanor, who clearly believes he's superior to patients - no real loss here. Dr. Shahid would never resort to such actions or display such an arrogant attitude, which only confirms how substandard this surgery has become. Good riddance, I say. As someone working night shifts, it's completely impractical to secure an 8am appointment since I'm never awake at that hour. When I request an appointment, I'm told I can only book by calling the next morning. I make extraordinary efforts to schedule an early slot because I desperately need one, only to be informed that Dr. Ali has already claimed all the morning appointments - blatant discrimination. After 35 years of loyalty to this practice, it deeply disappoints me that all the exceptional work Dr. Shahid and his team accomplished has been systematically dismantled since Dr. Ali's arrival. I've submitted the requested photographs and had three different professionals examine my issue (including a referral sent to the practice, which I'm STILL waiting on). Do yourself a favor and find a BETTER doctor who doesn't treat patients like they're insignificant when engaging with them.

Frustrating doctor's practice with unhelpful staff

Dealing with this medical practice while caring for my aging father has been incredibly frustrating. They epitomize everything wrong with healthcare, living up to their numerous negative reviews. The receptionists are difficult, with the exception of one white lady whose name I don't know. Attempting to communicate with the doctor through their staff is like an exercise in futility. Their staff consistently demonstrate rudeness and a complete lack of professional courtesy. Multiple phone calls are required just to receive a callback, and when the doctor finally responds, he casually dismisses concerns by attributing everything to my father's age. The information provided is inconsistent and contradictory. As a vulnerable patient, my father deserves much better care and support, but this practice seems indifferent to his needs.

Worst doctor ever, zero compassion

This medical practice is abysmal. Doctor Ali exhibits a callous, condescending attitude, and the reception staff are equally unwelcoming and aggressive. I seek professional medical guidance, not rudimentary advice that could be sourced from a simple internet search. Due to the doctor's persistent dismissiveness, I've been compelled to contact emergency services and visit the hospital's accident and emergency department multiple times during nighttime hours. Despite receiving confirmation from qualified healthcare professionals about my chronic condition, Doctor Ali consistently implies that I'm fabricating my symptoms. Even when you successfully secure an appointment, the consultation proves futile since he completely disregards any information you attempt to communicate. This is the first negative review I've ever composed, and I typically avoid public criticism, but this surgery is so deplorable that I must warn others: absolutely do not register with this practice.

Worst reception staff in town

It's preferable to have no general practitioner than to be stuck with this one, seriously. The front desk employees are incredibly discourteous. They seem to be compensated handsomely for concocting excuses whenever you contact them and systematically dodging appointment requests. I've reluctantly awarded a single star only because the rating system doesn't permit me to assign zero or negative scores. Practices like these directly contribute to the overwhelming strain on hospitals and the endless queues at Accident & Emergency departments. Get your act together 🙌

Liver scan lost at my daughter's address

I reluctantly awarded this Medical centre a star, and I feel contaminated even doing so. As an agoraphobic who's been homebound for years, my mental health challenges have recently escalated dramatically. After five futile years attempting to secure a home visit, I reached out to the mental health team. They redirected me to my GP - a suggestion that made me chuckle, given my torturous history with them. Eventually, they somehow motivated my GP, and a compassionate community phlebotomist visited to draw my blood. Briefly, I dared to hope progress was imminent... how naive. One week passed, then two, three, four - with no test results. Growing increasingly agitated, I demanded the surgery locate my bloodwork. Two days later, they claimed to have found them and were sending them - hallelujah! The results were ultimately delivered not by a doctor, but by a front desk secretary seemingly unqualified to handle medical information. She mumbled something about a liver scan needing scheduling, then abruptly ended the call - clearly oblivious to my fragile mental state. I'm now waiting for this scan, wondering if I'll even manage to leave home given my agoraphobia. And true to form, another administrative disaster has emerged: inexplicably, my hospital appointment was sent to my daughter's address - a location I've never inhabited in 18+ years. My recommendation? Steer clear of this place. If alternative medical practices were accessible, I'd switch immediately. Consider this a warning: avoid this facility like a contagious disease.

Terrible care during pandemic nightmare

I'm awarding a single star solely because there's no zero-star option, as the service from front desk to physician is absolutely terrible. During the pandemic, receptionists repeatedly interrogate patients, seemingly attempting to claim you have symptoms to deliberately avoid seeing you. Despite being long-standing patients at Dr. Jha's practice for two decades, the service quality is non-existent, and the doctors are equally unsatisfactory. After struggling immensely to secure an appointment while experiencing breathing difficulties, I was ultimately removed from their patient list for persistently seeking care. Perhaps this is a fortunate turn of events, presenting an opportunity to receive superior medical attention from a new practice. I strongly advise steering clear of this clinic. These healthcare professionals are exploiting the pandemic as a convenient excuse to avoid in-person patient consultations, and I intend to formally report their unacceptable practices to the General Medical Council.

Awful service since dr ali took over

Without a doubt, this GP practice represents the pinnacle of professional incompetence and disregard that I have ever encountered. The quality of care has significantly deteriorated since Dr Ali replaced Dr Shazid. Dr Ali - bluntly put, an absolutely repulsive, discourteous, and egotistical individual - who communicates and handles patients in a way that is completely unacceptable. He is in stark contrast to Dr Shazid, who demonstrated genuine warmth and compassion towards patients and their loved ones. If the rating system permitted, I would have gladly assigned this service a negative star rating.

Awful doctor who nearly cost me my job

Dr A. Surgery - I'd give zero stars if I could. This so-called doctor has no right to his title, lacking even basic human compassion and communication skills. He completely disregards patient concerns, jumping to hasty conclusions without listening. His practice should be shut down immediately. I repeatedly requested follow-up calls, only to be coldly dismissed. Despite multiple emergency medical professionals confirming my condition and recommending long-term pain management, he stubbornly denied my suffering. I was forced to beg for proper treatment and a fitness note, which he eventually produced with his own fabricated diagnosis. The entire process took weeks and nearly cost me my job. He becomes fixated on a single perspective and rigidly labels patients accordingly, completely ignoring professional medical consensus. His medical competence is non-existent, and his approach to patient care is shockingly unprofessional and harmful.

Rushed visit with unhelpful eye doctor

We left the eye clinic feeling let down by the doctor's lack of communication with my husband. The service was so brief that even Specsavers could have done better, and our entire visit lasted under 20 minutes. The field test nurse was delightful, but the doctor's interpersonal skills were severely lacking. We've decided not to return and will seek a second opinion about my husband's eye issue, as the doctor seemed completely disinterested. Additionally, the pharmacy at the entrance appeared unkempt, with staff not wearing face coverings and an absence of protective screens, which made us eager to leave as quickly as possible.
