Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience across appointment access, communication, and reception service. Many patients report straightforward appointment booking and minimal waiting times, particularly when calling during morning hours, alongside positive comments about clinical care quality and staff courtesy. However, several concerns emerge regarding appointment booking errors, where patients describe being scheduled for unwanted appointments or experiencing significant delays in receiving results. Communication issues are noted in specific cases, including delayed test results requiring multiple follow-ups and instances where treatment decisions were questioned by external practitioners.
Reception experience presents contrasting views. While some patients describe staff as welcoming and accommodating, others report discourteous interactions and extended phone waiting times when attempting to schedule appointments. Operational challenges are highlighted, including inconsistent appointment slot management and instances where clinic closing times differed from advertised hours.
Clinical responsiveness receives both strong praise and criticism. Positive feedback emphasises compassionate care and proactive outreach, while concerns centre on delayed treatment decisions and perceived barriers to accessing timely medical attention. The practice demonstrates capability in urgent care situations, though some patients feel routine access to care could be more responsive.

Quick Appointments and No Long Waits
Hadlow medical practice stands out as the most exceptional healthcare provider I've ever been registered with. Despite being a patient for just under a year, I've consistently experienced seamless communication and immediate access to care. Whenever I call, I'm always able to connect quickly, and same-day appointments are the norm rather than the exception. I've been so impressed that I've actively encouraged my friends and family in the local area to register with Hadlow. The practice is remarkably efficient, with minimal waiting times, and appointments typically run precisely on schedule. In my experience, this surgery truly sets the standard for patient-centered healthcare.

Rude Receptionist Mel Ruined My Appointment
My experience at this medical centre was incredibly frustrating and disheartening. During my initial visit, the receptionist was discourteous and claimed my husband had to be present for the surgery. He consequently took time away from work, only to find the facility had closed early at 17:00 instead of the advertised 18:30. Upon my subsequent return with my children, the same receptionist, Mel, remained extremely unhelpful. She curtly informed me she couldn't assist because a nurse training session was imminent. When I requested to speak with a manager about potentially verifying my husband's ID through a video call, I was abruptly told no management staff were on premises. The complete lack of professional conduct and abysmal customer service is unacceptable. As a result, I will be transferring my medical care to a different surgery.

Unhelpful and dismissive front desk staff
The front desk employees display a condescending and discourteous attitude. Moreover, I've observed them frequently engaged in conversation with one another instead of attending to incoming phone calls.

Endless Waiting at This Frustrating Clinic
utterly appalling service, the front desk keeps you waiting on the phone for over half an hour just to schedule an appointment (and i was the sole person waiting) and without fail, my physician is consistently 30 minutes behind schedule. the entire practice is chaotic and they create significant barriers to receiving medical care.

ExcellentFantastic GP Surgery
A very efficient GP practice. Can always get an appointment if you phone at 8am. Very friendly and helpful receptionists. We are very lucky to have such a good surgery when you listen to others. They were brilliant all throughout Covid too. If they can get things so right why can’t others?

Poor!
Strep Throat Runaround at the GP's Office
I reached out seeking antibiotics for a recurrent strep throat infection. The practice insisted I must endure a 5-day wait and undergo a mandatory blood test. Frustrated, I consulted a private physician that very day, who promptly prescribed the medication. They were astonished that my original GP had delayed treatment, emphasizing that no blood test was necessary and criticizing the approach that left me contagious and unable to continue working.

Dr Baldwin's Lifesaving Call on Tuesday Morning
I must emphasize how exceptional the doctors' surgery is as a service. I've spoken with friends dealing with medical concerns and treatments across different regions, and they all unanimously agree about how impressive and efficient my doctors' surgery is! Even more significantly, I owe my life to Dr. Baldwin's incredible foresight. Had Dr. B not called me on Tuesday, June 20th in the morning, I might have died. I was discovered to have blood clots in both my lungs. Following her urgent recommendation, I went to A&E, where they immediately admitted me and began life-saving treatment. The hospital staff were truly remarkable, but I would never have sought help if Dr. B hadn't reached out to me. My deepest gratitude goes to all staff at Hadlow medical centre who contribute significantly to the outstanding service provided to our local village community.

Wasted Morning at NHS Clinic
I scheduled an appointment for my daughter's 6-8 week vaccinations, but upon arrival, they had booked an unnecessary appointment for me without my request or consent. They informed me her slot was 45 minutes later, which was impossible as I needed to leave 30 minutes after the original time to pick up my other child from school. The NHS is already struggling, and such incompetence only exacerbates their challenges. Their response perfectly illustrates my frustration. My partner booked my baby's check-up with immunisation for 11:30, not 12:15 as they now claim. They arbitrarily decided to schedule a doctor's appointment for me that we never asked for or wanted. I arrived precisely at 11:30 for my daughter's appointment, which should have been sufficient, but wasn't seen until 11:50 and then told the slot was for me. It's both incompetent and presumptuous to suggest I need an appointment they think is important, disregarding my own feelings and circumstances. My daughter is now rebooked for immunisations at a time that accommodates my other child. I hope this time I won't waste my morning, allowing patients who genuinely need medical attention to be seen.

Dr. Baldwin's Negligence Nearly Killed Me
If I could give this surgery zero stars, I absolutely would. In April 2020, I was diagnosed with a leg blood clot and prescribed blood-thinning injections from the hospital. I was instructed by A&E and my doctor to inject in my stomach/legs. Despite alternating injection sites, my leg began turning BLACK. I contacted Dr. Baldwin three times, explaining my excruciating pain and leg discoloration. She refused to see me because of COVID. She didn't request a photo, offer a video consultation, or take any meaningful action. She simply diagnosed me with bruising over the phone without examining me. Three days later, I was hospitalized with necrotic skin and sepsis. I had to have all the skin on my leg removed, undergo skin grafts, receive multiple blood transfusions, and spent 5 weeks unable to walk or even use the bathroom. All of this occurred while I was pregnant, which she was fully aware of. A&E surgeons told me how fortunate I was to have called an ambulance, warning that without doing so, I could have died. I'm now permanently scarred physically and emotionally, suffering significant PTSD. While I understand COVID was new, she didn't provide basic care like other local practices were doing. Avoid this surgery absolutely. My unborn child's life was also at risk. AVOID this surgery completely. Regarding the practice manager's response, I'm forced to use this surgery for my children's immunizations because no other practices are accepting patients in our small area. I personally refuse to use this terrible doctors' surgery for myself, except when my husband must collect medication without any doctor interaction. I did consult a lawyer, who noted no negligence - suspiciously, after potential medical record manipulation and changing communication logs. They conveniently hide behind COVID, unlike the incredible nurses who saved my life. My photographs clearly demonstrate the truth. More could and should have been done. I'm entitled to share my experience, and I won't retract or modify my review. What's the point of raising concerns with this surgery? My nurse brother-in-law has revealed how protected their staff are! I sincerely hope no one ever experiences the treatment I endured. I will NOT remove my review - the treatment remains unacceptable.

Frustrating delays with medical test results
My partner's results were delayed by 11 days, forcing her to repeatedly follow up and contact them multiple times. Each time, she was assured the results had been sent, yet they remained undelivered. Such a healthcare service must significantly improve its communication and result delivery processes. The timely transmission of medical information is crucial. I am sharing this review solely to highlight their apparent negligence and express the hope that they will take steps to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.
