Certain receptionists must recognize that a text including a "link" will be ineffective if the mobile device lacks Internet access or if the patient decides against using the Internet. Your own website indicates that scheduling an appointment at the clinic remains an option. So, why does it sometimes become such a hassle?

Felt seen and heard

I'm a new patient to this practice and my previous experience with other GPS has not been good. Had my first appointment at this practice and the GP took time to listen, explain my condition and show compassion for my symptoms. I Ddidnt feel rushed at any point which i know is hard with the strain they are under. This is the first time in such a long time I actually felt seen and heard by a gp. The reception staff were also very kind as I was quite upset after my appointment and she offered another tissue. Well done and ty for the compassion showed to me today

Great Service Hindered by Access and Appointment Issues

I have generally had a positive experience, but two significant issues prevent me from giving a full five-star rating. Firstly, I’ve encountered several instances where I've requested to see a general practitioner only to be assigned to a nurse who seems unhelpful and insists that I need an actual GP appointment. Additionally, there was one occasion when my husband visited for throat concerns but the nurse refused to examine his throat; this situation nearly resulted in him needing hospitalization. Secondly, there's the matter of accessibility for individuals with disabilities. While there is designated parking available, our wheelchair struggles to fit through the door without assistance—this raises concerns about what would happen if someone using a wheelchair arrived alone; they would find it impossible to enter the clinic on their own.

Proactive and friendly local healthcare service shines

After relocating from London, I've found this medical practice to be excellent in addressing health concerns for both myself and my mother. They've been thoroughly proactive, promptly arranging blood tests and numerous diagnostic scans. I recently underwent a surgical procedure that likely wouldn't have happened had I remained in London. The entire team, from the general practitioner to the nurses and reception staff, are incredibly warm, approachable, and welcoming. While securing an appointment can sometimes be challenging, I've discovered the online app to be a game-changer. It's far more convenient than telephone booking and allows advance scheduling. Interestingly, I've even managed to snag appointments by casually checking online during unexpected cancellations.

NHS Appointment Crisis Frustrates Patient Access

The experience with this NHS facility remains disappointing, much like others I have encountered. I visited for two consecutive days at 8:15 AM and found it completely booked each time. The earliest appointment offered to me was scheduled for a month later. It's clear that the NHS system is struggling; it's no surprise that Accident & Emergency departments are overwhelmed. There's little chance of addressing issues before they escalate now.

Their method of handling autism-related concerns and anxiety was truly commendable. Poor Reception Service: Endless Wait Times

Receptionists respond only when they choose to, and my mother spent almost thirty minutes waiting before she finally decided to leave after being first in line. She was then redirected through the office, where she found herself once again stuck in an endless wait as the initial person in the queue. Completely ineffective!

After waiting for over a month to secure an appointment, I find myself still without any success—a system that is utterly dysfunctional. The only way to schedule an appointment is by calling at 8 am, which proves impossible for those of us with jobs on most days. When I reach out to the receptionists, they suggest using the NHS app to book an appointment; however, it shows just one available slot in the upcoming month. Their laughter echoes down the line when I share this frustrating reality with them.

Frustrating booking system ruins healthcare experience

This is utterly ridiculous.... I'm unable to schedule an appointment directly at the front desk and must instead phone in early, despite clear availability for tomorrow. Since I start my workday at 4am, I can't always break away to spend half an hour on hold. This morning, I was fourth in the queue when their absurd automated system claimed no appointments were open for the next week. I'm definitely not someone who runs to the doctor for every minor issue, which makes this experience even more frustrating.
