Receptionists made us feel genuinely welcome here

My spouse and I relocated to this practice during the latter stages of the pandemic, and we have found it to be a significant improvement from our previous surgery. The staff, including receptionists and clinical professionals, have consistently demonstrated politeness and helpfulness in all our interactions. On the rare occasions we have required additional support, we have received equally pleasant service. As an older couple, we find this level of care and attention to be very reassuring, and we believe this practice represents an excellent standard of care in our area.

There is a lovely member of the reception team who provides excellent service. Unfortunately, this positive experience is not consistent across all reception staff. Some team members could benefit from developing a more compassionate approach, particularly when interacting with vulnerable patients. An abrupt manner and lack of consideration seems at odds with the values expected in a healthcare setting. Rather than pursuing a formal complaint, I hope this feedback might serve as a useful opportunity for reflection and improvement, so that future interactions are more considerate.

Friendly staff made us feel welcome here

My spouse and I registered with the surgery after relocating to the area in early 2025. We have found all staff members, from those at reception through to clinical staff, to be consistently friendly, caring and highly professional. We have consistently received excellent and prompt service whenever we have needed it and would happily recommend this practice to anyone looking for a good surgery in the local area.

Reception staff blocked my number without reason

I found my experience at this clinic to be unsatisfactory overall. The reception staff interactions were frequently unhelpful and left me feeling unwelcome, including an instance where my contact details were blocked when I was attempting to arrange my appointments. Several other patients I've spoken with have mentioned experiencing comparable difficulties. This led me to decide to change my healthcare provider and asked for my medical records to be transferred. I was surprised to discover that a substantial fee was being requested for this service, along with what felt like stern language regarding potential implications if specific requirements were not followed. My subsequent healthcare provider expressed surprise at the amount being charged, particularly given the straightforward nature of my medical situation. Due to these concerns, I chose not to proceed with their request, which solidified my decision to move elsewhere. I'm sharing this feedback in hopes it may be useful to others evaluating this clinic. I do hope the service improves for patients in the future.

Staff listened and same-day appointments available

Switched to this practice four years ago after being registered elsewhere and it has proven to be an excellent decision. This is genuinely one of the finest practices in the area. I have experienced no issues whatsoever, and the team members are consistently friendly and supportive. The clinicians demonstrate genuine attentiveness during consultations. Same-day appointments are available if you contact the surgery promptly. I would rate this practice exceptionally highly if the system allowed for it.

Phone staff actually listen and respond quickly

Recently joined this GP surgery. Seriously no regrets, best GP in the local catchment area and possibly the wider region. Really nice clinical staff who don't give you attitude over the phone like a lot of other practices, quick to help you and aren't dismissive, and usually answer email questions within a short timeframe. I haven't had this experience anywhere else. The clinician I saw wasn't dismissive about my concerns for something that healthcare providers are usually quite skeptical of and was very understanding. Thanks to the practice!

Same day appointment after morning call

I called reception at 8am to request an appointment and was able to secure one for the same day. The clinician I saw was exceptionally supportive and arranged for me to have a follow-up appointment with the nursing team just five minutes after my consultation. The entire experience was comprehensive, efficient, and most importantly, I felt genuinely looked after. I'm very grateful for the assistance provided.

Phone lines impossible to reach here

I have struggled to secure appointments over the past several years due to difficulty reaching the practice by telephone. Today I experienced a particularly frustrating situation where I waited an extended period on hold only to be disconnected. I then visited the practice in person hoping to book an appointment at the reception desk, but was informed this was not possible. Despite explaining that my matter was not time-sensitive and there was flexibility around timing, the receptionist's approach felt unhelpful and obstructive rather than accommodating. This experience has led me to decide to register with a different practice.

Repeat prescription requests left unresolved

Utterly disappointing experience. I'm not sure why processing a routine repeat request should be so challenging, but this practice has let me down considerably. I submitted my request a week ago, and when I followed up yesterday after it hadn't been completed, I was told it would definitely be sorted that day. Unfortunately, it still hasn't been dealt with today. This is really frustrating. It's no surprise that emergency services are under such strain when basic administrative tasks aren't being managed properly.

Inconsistent care depending on who you see

The quality of care here varies considerably depending on which staff member you interact with. I have been seeking answers for a longstanding health concern for several years without receiving a comprehensive resolution. I sometimes feel that my concerns are not fully acknowledged or taken seriously by certain members of the team. This has been quite disappointing.
