I've been a patient at this medical practice since the mid-1990s, and I can confidently say they've been exceptional throughout the years. Their professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness have been consistently outstanding. As I've grown older, my interactions with the clinic have become more frequent, and remarkably, their standards continue to improve. I cannot praise the entire staff enough. Terrible service led to devastating health consequences
Repeatedly failed to connect with the medical practice, and the level of support was minimal both during my mother's hospital stay and after her discharge. Sadly, my mother has since died, and the GP surgery provided absolutely no meaningful assistance. While I understand we're dealing with a COVID situation, this cannot be used as a blanket justification for poor healthcare.

Transformation from frustration to patient satisfaction
I've been receiving care at this medical practice for nearly two decades. Initially, I found the facility quite unsupportive and frustrating. However, significant improvements have occurred in recent times. Previously, the reception staff struck me as discourteous and unhelpful. Remarkably, this has transformed completely. They are now considerate and supportive, with one long-standing receptionist being particularly outstanding. The nursing staff also seem less pressured nowadays. The introduction of a nurse practitioner has been beneficial, effectively reducing the workload on the general practitioners. Over the years, doctors have come and gone, with varying levels of competence. The current team, however, appears to collaborate effectively with patient welfare as their priority. Dr. Simon, in particular, stands out as a compassionate and efficient physician who truly understands patient needs. I sincerely hope this standard of care continues.

We've been patients at this medical practice since 1983 and have nothing but admiration for the exceptional care provided by their doctors and staff. They handle challenging situations with remarkable skill and truly deserve recognition. While receptionists often get criticized, and sometimes justifiably so, that's not the case here. I won't single out specific staff members by name, as the kind and compassionate ones know who they are, and I wouldn't want to make others feel uncomfortable during their less-than-perfect moments. The newer physicians who have recently joined the practice are particularly impressive - they're attentive, empathetic, and offer top-notch medical guidance (Dr. Simon especially stands out). We have absolutely no negative feedback about any of the medical professionals. Frustrating prescription process with poor service
I'm currently on long-term medication following a surgery that didn't go as planned, and my work takes me away frequently, making it hard to visit in person. I attempted to reorder my repeat prescription for Friday pickup, only to be told I must physically come in to place the order. I'm baffled by this requirement - what's the fundamental difference between requesting meds over the phone versus in person for a prescription I've already been given? Now I'm forced to wait two weeks, which could potentially lead to discomfort and further health complications. Moreover, their waiting times are absolutely unacceptable. I've previously waited two hours for an appointment that was scheduled weeks in advance, and typically experience an additional 50-minute delay with no explanation or apology offered. The car parking situation is equally frustrating, with vehicles seemingly occupying spaces that aren't intended for patients - I can tell because the same cars remain parked when the surgery is closed or nearly empty. With ongoing housing developments in the area, I'm deeply concerned that this medical practice won't be able to handle the increased population and will inevitably provide substandard care and service to patients.

Terrible healthcare that fails patients completely
I steer clear of this establishment, and I'm thankful for that. My partner has experienced endless difficulties, to the point where they're unable to obtain a simple health clearance document!!!! In my opinion, it's absolutely ridiculous, and they seem terrified of potential legal action 😂 They might as well close up shop..... these people are completely incompetent! What kind of medical professional can't perform basic tasks that every other doctor manages with ease!!!

After experiencing a previous miscarriage, I discovered I was pregnant again and scheduled a doctor's appointment. I was instructed to wait for a midwife to reach out, but after two weeks, I had heard nothing. I eventually obtained her contact number, only to learn she had been attempting to contact me for weeks and even sent a letter. This occurred despite my explicit request to update my contact information at the surgery. To make matters worse, two years ago, they asked me to collect my grandfather's medication from the pharmacy because they were too busy - it's utterly ridiculous how they operate.

This medical practice declined to draw blood for my 82-year-old mother-in-law ahead of her upcoming haematology consultation, insisting she must first visit the hospital. The journey from her home in Great Haywood to Stafford hospital involves a half-mile walk and two bus rides, consuming over an hour each direction. The practice claims they "only collect blood samples when specifically requested by a GP" - which seems contradictory, as these tests are presumably needed. Their rationale appears nonsensical, and this incident represents just one instance of the dismally inadequate service they consistently deliver.

Hazeldene surgery truly cares for their patients
Typically, I'm not one to pen a review, but I feel compelled to address some unfair criticisms. Since relocating to the Haywoods in 1978, my family and I have consistently received exceptional medical care. Throughout the years, we've experienced the usual health challenges that come with aging, and the Hazeldene medical team has always been supportive and encouraging. Recently, after returning from Tenerife, I was struck by a severe case of bronchitis. My husband contacted Rhonda, and they promptly arranged a home visit. Dr. Simon, our new and personable GP, came to see me immediately after his morning surgery. He took the time to thoroughly question and examine me, demonstrating genuine concern without any sense of urgency. I've since had a follow-up appointment at the surgery, and my recovery is progressing well. I sincerely believe the local community is fortunate to have such a professional and caring medical practice. It's easy to focus on shortcomings, but in reality, there are numerous reasons to be grateful for the healthcare we receive.

They're completely incompetent and won't even accommodate urgent appointments for critically ill toddlers or handle emergency situations.
