Patient Experience Summary

Feedback across this file reveals a predominantly negative patient experience, with significant concerns centring on appointment access, communication failures, and prescription management. Patients consistently report difficulties reaching the practice by phone, with lengthy waits, unanswered emails, and unresponsive reception staff creating substantial barriers to care. Appointment booking systems are frequently described as problematic, with automated processes causing frustration and in-person scheduling often refused. Prescription management emerges as a critical issue, with patients experiencing repeated delays, missing medications, and administrative errors that have affected their ability to obtain essential treatments. Reception experience is marked by reports of discourteous and dismissive staff conduct, alongside inadequate follow-up on clinical matters. Administrative errors, including unauthorised registrations and record transfer failures, have compounded patient concerns about organisation and data handling.

Despite these widespread challenges, a small number of reviews highlight positive experiences with specific staff members and the e-consult service, noting professional communication and compassionate care when these services function effectively. However, these isolated positive experiences are substantially outweighed by accounts of systemic disorganisation, poor responsiveness, and lack of courtesy throughout the practice. Patients express particular frustration with the contrast between the practice's responsiveness to online reviews and their apparent inability to manage basic communication channels for patient care.

Pharmacy's poor communication ruins everything

Reaching them by phone is an exercise in futility, and their email communication is nonexistent. Their complete disregard is profoundly disheartening and infuriating. I've repeatedly submitted my mother's standard prescription requests, and inexplicably, certain medications are arbitrarily denied in one application, only to be approved in subsequent submissions without explanation! I've dispatched multiple emails that have been met with absolute silence! I absolutely cannot endorse their services! The latest update: Regrettably, my experience with Hazeldene Medical Centre remains unchanged since my previous annual review. Despite apparent organizational expansion, their service quality has not progressed at all. The administrative and pharmacy staff continue to demonstrate a marked reluctance to address concerns, and I am consistently compelled to persistently follow up multiple times just to secure my mother's routine medication needs. It is deeply disappointing that their organizational growth has not translated into improved attentiveness or patient care responsiveness.

Prescription nightmare at gp pathfinder

I am incredibly frustrated with the persistent ineffectiveness at GP Pathfinder. Similar to previous experiences, I have once again been subjected to bureaucratic obstacles regarding my routine medication. After submitting my prescription through my preferred pharmacy, I received a notification on 12th September stating my GP had suspended the prescription. Upon contacting the practice, they flatly denied receiving the original request. In an attempt to address the situation, I resubmitted my medication order by telephone, yet nine days later, there remains no progress visible in either the practice's or pharmacy's systems. Being without critical medication for more than a week is completely unacceptable, particularly given this is a recurring issue. This ongoing problem clearly demonstrates a fundamental lack of organizational competence and professional accountability in managing patient prescriptions. Such substandard service is entirely inappropriate for a medical facility responsible for essential healthcare needs. If maintaining your health and receiving respectful, responsible customer service matters to you, I strongly advise steering clear of this practice.

Frustrating registration mix-up with hazeldene

During a medical emergency, I mistakenly registered online with Hazeldene Medical Center, which turned out to be a significant error. When attempting to register with my local GP, I discovered I was already listed with Hazeldene GP. Despite multiple attempts, the registration process repeatedly blocked me, citing an existing registration with Hazeldene GP that I never initiated. Eventually, I successfully registered with my local GP and secured an appointment. However, today I received a call from my local GP informing me that they must cancel my appointment and remove me from their patient list due to my apparent registration with Hazeldene GP. As a patient with breathing problems, who will ensure I receive my medication on time? This situation is entirely the fault of Hazeldene Medical Center's administration. Their work is incredibly irresponsible, and after reading other reviews, I realize I'm not the only patient experiencing this issue. I urgently demand a swift resolution, and if not addressed, I will not hesitate to pursue legal action, given the critical nature of my medical emergency.

Nightmare at the local medical practice

My encounter with this GP surgery has been nothing short of a complete disappointment. The entire experience was marred by terrible communication and a total lack of professional coordination. I found myself incorrectly scheduled for blood tests, and was forced to confront the staff to ensure the right tests were performed, all while being bombarded with contradictory information about my medical care. Appointments were arbitrarily set without my consultation, leaving me constantly scrambling to track down accurate information. Even the most fundamental follow-up documentation was riddled with errors or simply absent. The sheer unprofessionalism and disorganization has been immensely exasperating, ultimately making me feel utterly abandoned and disregarded by their healthcare service.

Painful blood draw mix-ups at clinic

Communication within this GP practice is absolutely terrible. Twice they've mistakenly drawn blood and then wanted to draw more to "correct" their error, showing complete lack of understanding of patient safety. The potential risks of excessive blood draws are alarming! We experienced this incompetence three times in a row. The core issue lies with the doctors' interactions with patients - poor documentation and an inexperienced team. This terrible communication isn't just frustrating; it's physically dangerous to patients. Because of services like these, people criticize the NHS, even though the NHS itself is generally good. If you're seeking quality healthcare, I strongly recommend finding a different GP. My apologies for this harsh feedback, but nothing seems to improve their internal communication. I've never encountered such an incompetent medical practice.

Messy transfer left me frustrated

Absolutely dreadful service! I updated my address twice, and each occasion resulted in weekly confirmation calls. When I relocated to the midlands, I logically switched GP clinics. I believed the transfer process went smoothly when I made the call, but a week later, they sent a message requesting registration confirmation. I emailed explaining their error, emphasizing that I didn't want to return to their surgery due to the significant distance. They dismissed it as a "misunderstanding." Then, during a hospital appointment call, I discovered they've actually transferred my records to Hazeldene Medical Center without my consent! The staff's incompetence is mind-boggling. I'm 4 hours away from their location and never authorized this transfer. Now I'm forced to resolve this administrative mess with my local preferred surgery. What an enormous, unnecessary hassle!

Suspicious medical center causing trouble

On August 29, 2024, I received a notification that my NHS App was disabled, requiring me to appear in person at the Surgery for identity verification. This morning, I unexpectedly received a welcome email from Hazeldene Medical Centre, a facility I do not recall applying to or engaging with for over a year. This appears to be a clear instance of fraudulent activity by the medical center. After reviewing other patient accounts, I've discovered similar patterns of harassment. I strongly believe legal proceedings should be initiated against those responsible for these unethical practices at Hazeldene Medical Centre.

Painful prescription nightmare at pathfinder gps

I suffer from CRPS and depend on daily medication to manage my chronic pain. This medication is potent and not something to discontinue abruptly, yet this GP has twice been content to let me go days without my essential medication. Repeatedly, I've been informed my prescription is ready for collection, only to find my pharmacist has no record of it. Similarly, I've been told I have a scheduled appointment with the in-house physiotherapist, which never materialized, and my referral for musculoskeletal physiotherapy remains pending. The online prescription renewal form is unnecessarily complex, and navigating their phone system to reach a human representative is incredibly frustrating. Moreover, I'm forced to re-explain my entire situation to a different staff member each time I call. I am seriously contemplating filing formal complaints and seeking a new GP, as I struggle to identify any redeeming qualities in this practice. Be cautious: Pathfinder GPs are far from exceptional. Unlike my previous experiences, I cannot even identify my current GP, having never met or spoken with them directly. Update: Reducing my rating to 1 star due to the generic, copy-and-paste response received and the continued absence of my prescription. Absolutely dreadful service

Incompetent surgery

The surgery rang me to come in for medical assessment. I got the text confirming the appointment. I came into the surgery and was told that there was no appointment. After searching their computer system I was told it was cancelled and that they sent a text but I showed them my phone and no text was sent. The receptionist was rude.
