Frustrating healthcare experience with zero help

The service was absolutely abysmal. I completed an online form twice, only to receive a text message directing me to a chemist, despite explicitly mentioning my three-week-long severe sore throat. After trudging around numerous pharmacies and being repeatedly turned away, I finally found a pharmacist who recommended I go to the emergency room due to the severity of my condition. Had the initial doctors not dismissed my concerns and prescribed antibiotics, I wouldn't have wasted an entire day at the hospital. Moreover, the receptionist's comment that few pharmacists can actually prescribe medications makes their initial advice seem completely nonsensical and a waste of my time while I was already feeling incredibly unwell.

Terrible service until practice manager saved day

My encounter yesterday with the receptionist was dreadful. They displayed zero compassion and accused me of being responsible for not receiving a GP callback, claiming I must have incorrectly submitted my form (despite having a verification code and confirmation). When I became emotional, they insensitively asked if I had a 'mental health issue'??? Seriously... no, I'm simply unwell, and their complete lack of understanding and support pushed me to my emotional limit..... definitely not the standard of care you'd anticipate from a medical practice 😔. Once I'm feeling better, I'll definitely be seeking a new healthcare provider..... **Update. The practice manager subsequently reached out to me. She was genuinely wonderful and understanding... effectively salvaged the situation, and her kindness and genuine approach significantly improved my overall perception**

I've been a patient at this medical practice for two decades, and over time, it has devolved into a complete mockery of NHS healthcare accessibility. When I attempted to schedule an appointment, my work commitments prevent me from utilizing their online booking system due to how quickly available slots disappear. Despite explaining my persistent knee pain to the receptionist, she remained unhelpful and could only offer a consultation approximately two weeks out. Her suggestion was to book through her directly, but the wait is unacceptable. If I had the option to withdraw my NHS contributions, I would absolutely pursue private healthcare without hesitation.

The booking process is utterly abysmal. They completely misrepresent the availability for scheduling appointments. I called four separate times today and was repeatedly instructed to ring back tomorrow at 8AM, despite initiating my calls as early as 8:30 in the morning. Healthy Prestatyn is nothing short of a complete disaster.

Mixed experience with helpful and unhelpful staff

went to book an appointment and was directed to use computer or phone, both of which were unhelpful. Eventually told I'd hear back in 48 hours. A bit more warmth would be appreciated! Months later, I'm happy to update: today I met a delightful receptionist and an incredibly professional nurse. Ten out of ten! New review 2024: my daughter booked an online appointment, and the physiotherapist was exceptionally kind, friendly, and reassuring about my condition. Again, 10 out of 10, no issues at all. Laptop contact led to a truly helpful and comforting appointment. Everyone involved was wonderfully nice and professional! Thank you all. New review 18 April: I've experienced nothing but kindness, understanding, and efficiency regarding my health issues over the past two months and want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone involved. However, this morning I encountered a receptionist I've met before who lacks the essential skills for interacting with patients who are unwell and vulnerable. Her demeanor starkly contrasts with the center's otherwise lovely staff. Surely an occasional smile, polite phrase, or showing basic respect isn't too much to ask! I'll add that my wife recently called about missing painkillers, and a wonderful phone representative resolved the issue in under a minute. The morning receptionist, when presented with the same query, merely stated my wife had them and made no further effort - something she could have easily addressed with a bit of compassion and proactivity!

I'm frustrated after calling 111 yesterday, and they suggested I try to see a nurse about my complaint. When I went in, they instructed me to resubmit an online form in the morning. I attempted to do so but encountered errors again. I received a text telling me to redo it in the morning. I called them back, but received no assistance, so I'm giving up.
