Patient Experience Summary

Feedback on this practice reflects a deeply polarised patient experience. Many patients praise the competence and compassion of medical staff, describing thorough examinations, good communication, and responsive care. Reception staff receive particular commendation in several reviews for warmth and professionalism. However, a substantial proportion of feedback highlights significant systemic challenges, particularly around appointment access and booking experience.

Patients consistently report lengthy waiting times ranging from two to three weeks for routine appointments, difficulty reaching the practice by telephone, and frustration with restrictive appointment scheduling windows. Reception experience emerges as inconsistent, with some patients describing courteous and helpful interactions whilst others report discourteous behaviour, lack of respect, and poor organisation. Communication breakdowns appear across multiple reviews, including issues with prescription processing, follow-up on referrals, and administrative failures. Several patients note that whilst individual doctors demonstrate clinical competence, the practice's organisational systems and appointment availability undermine confidence in accessing timely care when needed.

Friendly doctors with parking challenges in hampstead

Located in the charming Hampstead Garden Suburb, this medical facility sits along the bustling A1 Falloden Way. While accessible by car, parking spaces are extremely scarce. Conveniently, bus route 102 heading to Brent Cross stops almost directly in front of the practice. The reception team is delightful, and the physicians are consistently top-notch. Consistent with many contemporary medical practices, securing a prompt appointment is challenging, typically requiring a wait of one to three weeks unless facing an urgent medical situation. I can only speculate about the potential waiting times in London's more densely populated, underserved neighborhoods. I implore everyone to consistently treat the wonderful staff at Heathfielde with the utmost respect and kindness.

Very poor experience - spanning over a number of years

Very very difficult to gain an appointment Will only offer same day appointments so they can meet this target Very rude GP who is one of the partners (Dr J A Goldin) advised me to give my 8 week old baby honey to treat constipation despite NHS guidelines stating that honey should not be consumed by a baby until they are at least 1 year old. When i questioned this i was told not to query his 30+ year clinical experience and asked why i had even called if i didn't want his advice. Honestly the worst GP i have ever registered with.

Terrible customer service during a difficult time

Utterly appalling. I've been waiting on hold for nearly an hour attempting to resolve issues with a death certificate due to the physician's negligence in not properly filling out the cause of death section. The entire funeral arrangement is at a standstill because of this incompetence. Still no resolution in sight. A grieving family certainly doesn't need this added stress during such a difficult period.

Nightmare medical journey with unhelpful healthcare professionals

I've been struggling to obtain my daughter's blood test results for weeks. The GP responsible for receiving them was completely unhelpful and redirected us to the hospital. The hospital where the blood was drawn was equally uncooperative, claiming the results were lost in the lab. After endless bureaucratic runaround, I finally reached the lab, who stated no one had contacted them about the results and they would send them immediately to the GP. When I called the GP, I endured a 2-hour wait only to be told I could view the results at an appointment in 4 weeks, which they considered 'non-urgent'. This sparked immense frustration, especially given my child's poor health. My repeated requests to have the results sent or read to me were met with them hanging up. Through sheer determination, I finally obtained the results, which reveal my child is severely coeliac - explaining her significant illness. Remarkably, the GP was prepared to delay informing me for 4 weeks, seemingly indifferent that being coeliac and seriously unwell isn't considered urgent. Clearly, you must be aggressive to receive any meaningful care from this practice. My advice: steer clear.

Prescription frustration at local medical practice

I've generally had good interactions with the doctors at this practice, but lately, I'm struggling to get my ongoing prescriptions renewed, even though I've followed all the required steps. My medication supply has now been exhausted, and I've just sent an online request through accu-Rx, since my previous two NHS app submissions went unanswered. If this attempt fails, I'll reluctantly file a complaint—not out of a desire to cause trouble, but simply because I'm at a loss for how else to secure my essential medications.

Compassionate and professional healthcare at its finest

Throughout my recent medical journey at Heathfielde, I've experienced truly outstanding treatment from every member of their team - from doctors and nurses to administrative personnel. They've been attentive, conducting thorough examinations, providing appropriate medications, and making necessary referrals with remarkable professionalism and compassion. While the National Health Service often faces criticism, my personal experience has been nothing short of remarkable. I feel genuinely fortunate to have received such exceptional care from the dedicated professionals at Heathfielde.

Horrible healthcare with rude and unprofessional staff

I cannot stress enough: AVOID registering with this medical practice at all costs. They are hands down the most unprofessional healthcare providers I've ever encountered. Their appointment scheduling is completely illogical, with an absurd 3-hour waiting window. When I politely requested they narrow this timeframe to accommodate my work schedule, their staff became aggressive and verbally hostile. The front desk personnel are shockingly indifferent and ineffective, showing zero consideration for patient needs. If the rating system allowed it, I would absolutely give them zero stars!!

Terrible medical centre with zero patient care

This is hands-down the most terrible general practice I've ever encountered, run by incompetent staff who seemingly have no business working at a medical facility. The reception team is completely indifferent to patients' needs and time constraints! Avoid registering with this surgery at all costs! Their management is abysmal and their organizational skills are non-existent. I've experienced numerous appointment mix-ups, but the recent incident was the last straw. Two weeks ago, I called to schedule a pap smear test, and the receptionist confirmed a Friday appointment at 12 pm. Upon arrival, they claimed no such booking existed under my name. How is this even possible? Why are unqualified individuals handling critical administrative tasks? I had to take time off work for this appointment, and their total lack of professionalism is infuriating. Is it genuinely so challenging to perform your job with basic competence? Absolutely shameful!

Frustrating appointments and poor patient experience

Steer clear of this medical practice as your primary healthcare provider. Their scheduling approach is absurdly outdated, forcing patients to call precisely at 8 am or 2 pm, only to be met with a 25-person waiting line. My previous London-based GP offered a convenient online booking and callback service, making this current system unnecessarily stressful and antiquated in today's digital era.

Terrible healthcare experience with unhelpful doctors

Physicians seem more concerned with their own protection than patient care, consistently avoiding prescribing medication even when hospital documentation clearly supports the need. If these medical professionals aren't genuinely committed to helping patients, they should consider alternative career paths. Their approach is completely unacceptable. One star is actually too generous for this general practitioner.

Nhs app saves time and provides excellent care

I've been thoroughly impressed with the NHS App's online consultation feature for communicating with my general practitioner about medical concerns. After detailing my unusual health symptoms through the digital platform, the medical practice has been incredibly responsive, promptly scheduling appointments and even having a physician return my call in less than thirty minutes, which was truly exceptional. Heartfelt gratitude goes to Dr Cullen and the entire surgery team for their outstanding support and attentiveness.

Terrible clinic service with frustrating appointment process

I'm compelled to give this a one-star rating. Their online booking system has been completely non-functional for two years. When attempting to schedule an appointment, I was told I'd face a two-week wait for a phone consultation, despite wanting an in-person visit. The doctor who contacted me was brusque and almost discourteous, demanding I come in immediately, which was difficult given my work at UCLH. They claimed they couldn't schedule an appointment, insisting I call daily or book a month ahead - a persistent problem. During the COVID period, I discovered a pulled disc in my arm after being shuffled around for an MRI, which took a full year to arrange. The results were then withheld for another six months until a local politician stepped in. It's alarming that I had to resort to such extreme measures, as patients should naturally receive timely physical assessments from triage nurses or doctors. The profound lack of confidence in their service genuinely raises serious concerns about potential negative patient outcomes.

Declining service and unfriendly staff at local surgery

I've been a patient at this medical practice for years, and while they used to have some positive attributes like quick phone response and timely appointments, the quality has significantly declined. The phone service and availability remain decent, and the nursing staff are still professional. However, the reception team has become increasingly problematic, with frequent staff turnover and hostile behavior, particularly from long-standing staff member Sue. The doctors have also deteriorated, with Dr Cullen coming across as defensive and suspicious. The surgery seems overly defensive, aggressively pushing medical procedures like flu shots and cervical screenings, forcing patients to sign waivers if they decline. Prescription management has become unreliable, with frequent delays or missed signatures. Despite our family's consistent efforts to show appreciation - bringing gifts during holidays and supporting them through Covid with flowers - their response has been consistently cold and distrustful. I've been wanting to switch practices for some time, but unfortunately, alternative options don't appear to be any more promising.

Heathfielde practice delivers exceptional patient care

As of 2023, I remain thoroughly satisfied with the care provided at Heathfielde. The eConsult system has proven incredibly efficient - I've consistently received callbacks within hours or by the next day for non-urgent matters. The ability to upload images for quick review and subsequent referrals has been particularly convenient. In more pressing situations, I've experienced rapid response times, such as obtaining electronic antibiotics for my child's issues just hours after dropping off a urine sample. Having recently joined this practice, I've been consistently impressed by the warmth and professionalism of both medical and reception staff. My post-natal and new baby appointments were scheduled promptly, with referrals and investigations processed swiftly. Securing same-day phone consultations has been hassle-free, and prescriptions are instantly transmitted electronically to my pharmacy. The team's commitment to excellent patient care is commendable - I sincerely hope they maintain this outstanding standard of service!
