Helpful approach with disabled child care
I attended an appointment regarding my child's health concerns. I was worried given my child's additional needs and was uncertain whether we would receive an appointment or face extended waiting times at the hospital. The clinician demonstrated considerable compassion and understanding, recognised that my child required medical attention, and provided a prescription for antibiotics. Practice sorted prescription issue quickly
Excellent service from the team at Heywood Health. I recently experienced an issue with a repeat prescription at my pharmacy and a member of staff was incredibly helpful and efficient in resolving the matter, so much so that the pharmacist even commented positively on their assistance! Additionally, following a recent hospital visit, the recommended actions from the consultation notes had been actioned before I had even received my own copy of the correspondence! I am not certain who deserves the credit, but I genuinely appreciate the support provided. Thanks to everyone involved.

Quick diagnosis potentially saved my daughter
I have updated my review. I cannot express enough gratitude to the clinician who assessed my daughter and the healthcare professional who assisted her into transport and ensured her wellbeing. She had attended another healthcare facility the previous day where a viral infection was suspected. At this practice, within 10 minutes of being seen, we were advised to attend the hospital as a more serious condition was suspected. Within 2 hours she underwent surgery, and whilst the condition was more advanced than initially thought, she has made a complete recovery and returned to being her usual happy, healthy and energetic self. Without the prompt assessment and referral from this clinician, I am uncertain what the outcome might have been. Thank you very much.

Receptionist guided me through the whole process
Outstanding experience at the practice this morning. I had a telephone consultation that has now progressed to an in-person appointment, which came as a pleasant surprise. As a long-standing patient of over 40 years, I was impressed by the support I received from the reception team who assisted me throughout the process. The initial questions posed to me were helpful and appropriate in directing me towards the right care pathway. It appears the practice has successfully returned to its usual operations. Messaging system beats fighting for phone lines
I value the ability to send messages through the NHS App for non-urgent matters, as it means I'm not taking up their time or mine attempting to reach them by telephone. It would be beneficial to have the possibility of scheduling appointments further ahead as was available previously, though I recognise that nowadays this appears to be a common situation across most practices - with patients competing for same-day slots. I find the streamlined check-in process using the touch screen upon arrival to be convenient.

My family have recently joined this surgery and the experience has been exceptional compared to my previous healthcare providers, who were also very good. The waiting area is clean and well-maintained, and the reception team provided a warm and welcoming greeting. A friendly demeanor is particularly important when you're not feeling well. Morning phone lines impossible to get through on
This surgery is extremely difficult to reach in the morning when trying to book an appointment. Having attended this practice on two separate occasions over a period of more than 15 years, I have rarely needed to use their services, but unfortunately my experiences when I have required care have not been particularly positive. Just recently I called and was kept on hold for approximately 12 minutes before being transferred to an incorrect department. I called back using the same number and eventually got through, only to be informed that no appointments were available that day. I requested a telephone consultation with a clinician, but the earliest available was a week away, so I contacted 111 instead and spoke to a healthcare professional the same day. This professional advised that I should attend the surgery for an in-person assessment. I attempted to book an appointment yesterday morning and after numerous attempts to get through by phone, I was again told there were no available slots. This morning I tried using the online booking system as suggested, but was informed that I would need to book an appointment to attend the surgery in person. I cannot do this until tomorrow morning, and I anticipate I will likely be told once again that there are no available appointments. I had used the online system on the advice of reception staff, who indicated it would result in a quicker response from a clinician, yet I was subsequently told I needed to secure an appointment instead.
