Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience with the practice, with notable contrasts between clinical care quality and operational accessibility. Many patients report positive interactions with clinical staff, describing them as courteous, professional, and competent, with several noting prompt attention and respectful treatment during consultations. Reception and administrative teams also receive praise for their support and accommodation. However, significant concerns emerge around appointment access, with patients reporting difficulty obtaining appointments through both online and telephone channels, extended waiting times, and challenges with the booking system. Communication failures are evident in delayed responses to complaints, unprocessed requests, and inconsistent follow-up on referrals and test results.
Operational coordination issues appear across multiple service areas, including problems with prescription handling, medical records management, and the transition between different digital systems. Telephone accessibility remains problematic, with patients experiencing lengthy hold times, frequent disconnections, and difficulty reaching staff despite being in the queue. Several patients describe frustration with administrative delays and unresolved matters extending over months, alongside concerns about post-hospital care coordination and specialist referral management.
While clinical competence and courtesy are frequently acknowledged, the practice's ability to deliver timely access and reliable administrative support appears inconsistent. Patients express concern that service limitations may particularly affect vulnerable groups, and some have chosen to seek alternative providers due to ongoing access and coordination difficulties.

Positive experience at understaffed clinic
I recently became a member and have been thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by both the staff and reception. They've gone above and beyond to accommodate me, ensuring I was seen promptly. It's unfortunate that negative reviews often overshadow the positive experiences, potentially tarnishing the establishment's reputation. I urge everyone to consider that occasional understaffing may occur, and the team can only accomplish so much within their working hours. From my personal encounters, the doctors have been absolutely outstanding.

Mixed experiences at High Pastures surgery
After a series of disappointments, I finally had the opportunity to consult with a Physician Assistant in May. Although not a doctor, this PA proved to be an exceptional alternative. He meticulously identified my various health issues and promptly initiated treatment plans. His enthusiasm was truly commendable, and I deeply appreciated his efforts. However, a referral to Ormskirk Hospital's cardiology unit was made without my input. I had previously experienced excellent care for my cardiac concerns at Liverpool Heart and Chest in Broadgreen, but once the referral was processed, it couldn't be altered. Six months have elapsed, and Ormskirk remains unresponsive regarding the status of my referral. Meanwhile, my heart condition has significantly deteriorated. I've attempted to address this issue with the surgery, but to no avail thus far. High Pastures was once an exemplary surgery, but the quality of care has regrettably declined as new doctors have replaced the old guard. The impact of COVID-19 has further exacerbated these issues. I'm grateful that Dr. Clarkson is still practicing; otherwise, the situation could be even more dire. A glimmer of hope has emerged with the appointment of a new office manager. Ms. Jago has accomplished what her predecessor deemed impossible - securing me an appointment at Liverpool Heart and Chest. This act has earned my profound gratitude, and I've adjusted my rating to 4 stars in recognition of her efforts. Perhaps this signals a return to the surgery's former glory, though that may be wishful thinking.

Satisfied patient praises clinic's service
I'm truly perplexed by the negative feedback some have given. For two decades, I've been a loyal patient at this practice, consistently experiencing prompt and excellent care. Despite their undoubtedly hectic schedule, I've observed that every team member maintains a high level of professionalism in their work. Their dedication to providing quality service, even under considerable pressure, is commendable and deserves recognition.

Terrible pediatric care: Negligence and apathy
I had an extremely disappointing experience with this practice. The lack of communication was appalling, and I never received any follow-ups regarding my concerns. To make matters worse, they somehow managed to misplace our samples, leaving us in limbo. When we desperately needed referrals, none were provided, despite our repeated requests. What truly upset me was the staff's callous attitude, especially towards my toddler. Their complete absence of empathy for a 2-year-old patient was shocking and unprofessional. I cannot recommend this practice to anyone seeking quality healthcare for their family.

Grateful patient praises caring doctors
I'd like to express my heartfelt gratitude to a particular physician I encountered today. Despite my overwhelming health concerns, this young doctor, whose name unfortunately escapes me, instilled a renewed sense of optimism within me. His impact was so profound that it's reinvigorated my spirits, possibly even bordering on euphoria. The remarkable improvement in staff turnover is truly commendable. I've received what feels like the most thorough check-up of my life. This doctor, despite not knowing me personally, treated me with the utmost respect and compassion; it felt as though we'd been acquainted for years. I must also mention Dr. Fleming, who, without prior knowledge of my case, has been exceptionally attentive in managing my medications. The new GP doctors at High Pastures have truly elevated the experience - dare I say, it was almost a pleasure to be unwell. My sincerest thanks to all involved. Warmest regards, Leslee Dee.

Decline of NHS: A patient's lament
In essence, this medical practice was a lifesaver for me. The departure of Dr. Fleming, however, left an enormous void, as her old-school principles were truly commendable. The new electronic system is woefully inadequate, failing patients miserably, and the post-COVID situation has devolved into a mockery. Despite my illness, I've felt ostracized in recent years. While I'm fortunate to navigate technology, my heart goes out to our elderly patients who are bewildered by this transition. Hospitals are inundating the practice with referrals without fulfilling their own post-treatment responsibilities. It seems we're witnessing the demise of the modern NHS. Oh, how I long for something we can once again take pride in.

Frustrating experience with econsult and phone
I attempted to use the econsult service on Monday, but it was unavailable. Frustratingly, I couldn't get through on the phone either. When I visited the surgery in person, they informed me that econsult would be accessible on Tuesday. However, upon trying again on Tuesday, I found it was still not available. My repeated phone calls were equally fruitless; I was perpetually stuck as the fifth caller in the queue, never progressing. The continued unavailability of econsult only compounded my frustration. This level of service falls far short of acceptable standards.

Neglectful care at High Pastures Surgery
Three weeks ago, I underwent blood tests due to experiencing chest discomfort. Despite being informed that the results were unremarkable, I was subsequently advised by High Pastures Surgery to visit A&E. It was there that a hospital physician revealed, based on the very same blood work from High Pastures, that I'm actually dealing with elevated cholesterol and iron deficiency. I'm still waiting for High Pastures Surgery to initiate treatment. I've even sent an email to the practice manager, but have yet to receive any response. The level of care provided has been utterly disappointing. I fear that the incompetence of certain doctors at this practice might eventually lead to a patient's demise.

Prompt service at new local medical facility
I recently relocated to this neighborhood and I must say, my experiences here have been nothing short of positive. On two separate occasions, I found myself in need of their services, and both times I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they accommodated me, despite the short notice. Their prompt attention and willingness to fit me into their schedule have left a lasting impression.

Can't book appointments or econsults
I would give this practice a much lower rating if possible. I needed to arrange some blood tests, but I found it extremely difficult to access care. There were no doctor appointments available, and there were also no online consultation slots either. This was very frustrating.

Quick response but needed walk-in centre care
Got in touch with the practice on a Friday morning early in the day reporting urinary symptoms and requesting a sample analysis. A text message arrived later that evening asking to leave a sample with a follow-up scheduled for the following Monday. However, I attended an urgent care centre the next morning and was prescribed medication there instead. I'm very grateful to all the healthcare staff at these facilities who, despite being under considerable pressure, were consistently courteous and provided reassurance throughout my visits.

Appointment access has become nearly impossible
If you are considering registering with this practice, you may want to reconsider. The service was satisfactory prior to recent times, but has experienced a noticeable decline since then. Obtaining an appointment has become increasingly difficult, and wait times are considerably lengthy. The practice may not be the best choice for your healthcare needs.

Staff are helpful but prescription system needs work
The team at this practice demonstrates outstanding professionalism and dedication. However, there appear to be some concerns regarding coordination and consistency in relation to medication management, prescription handling, and the use of digital systems. It is hoped that these areas will be improved in the future.

Quick appointments and convenient telephone consultations
Relocated to the area and registered with the practice over two years ago. Have attended numerous appointments for various family members and found the experience to be positive. Most consultations have been conducted remotely, which has been convenient, with medications subsequently forwarded to the pharmacy. On the occasions when in-person visits have been necessary, these have been prompt and satisfactory.

Reception team made us feel genuinely welcome
Our family has visited regularly throughout the years, particularly during our children's younger years. The clinical staff have consistently demonstrated politeness and courtesy in all our interactions. We have received referrals when needed, and our concerns have been heard and taken seriously. The administrative and reception teams have been excellent in their support.

Promises made but medication left unfulfilled
This practice has been disappointing in my experience, with repeated commitments to address patient concerns that have not been followed through. I have observed that vulnerable patients have been left without necessary prescriptions on multiple occasions.

Long phone wait, then refused wound care support
Following discharge from hospital after a routine surgical procedure, I required daily wound care as part of my recovery plan. The hospital suggested that my registered practice could potentially provide this ongoing support. Given my proximity to the surgery and my registration there, I felt it was the most practical option for managing what is an uncomfortable situation requiring regular treatment. After a lengthy phone call, I was informed that the practice was unable to offer daily wound dressing changes and that I would need to travel to an alternative centre for what is a brief ten-minute appointment. This was disappointing, as I had understood that local practices typically coordinate post-hospital care and monitor patient recovery. Instead, I found myself being directed between multiple locations in a way that felt inconvenient and poorly coordinated. I am concerned that patients with less ability to navigate these arrangements, particularly older individuals, could experience deterioration in their condition as a result of such limitations in service provision.
