Patient feedback reveals a mixed experience with significant inconsistencies in service quality. Appointment access remains a persistent challenge, with many patients reporting waits of two weeks or longer, and some facing difficulties securing urgent consultations. Reception experience is notably polarised, with some patients praising courteous and helpful staff whilst others describe disrespectful behaviour, abrupt call terminations, and dismissive attitudes. Communication issues are frequently cited, including long telephone hold times and unresponsive follow-up regarding test results and concerns.
Medical care quality varies considerably across practitioners, with some doctors receiving praise for compassionate, attentive care whilst others are described as rushed, dismissive, or providing inconsistent diagnoses. Patients have reported medication errors, delayed prescriptions, and inadequate clinical assessments. The practice environment is generally well-maintained and accessible, and some patients highlight responsive emergency care when urgent needs arise.
Continuity of care remains problematic, with patients expressing frustration about inconsistent service standards and unresolved complaints. Several long-standing patients report deterioration in service quality over time, particularly following the practice relocation. Whilst some recent reviews acknowledge improvements and professional nursing staff, the overall pattern suggests systemic issues with appointment scheduling, reception professionalism, and clinical consistency that require sustained attention.

BadVery, very bad indeed
I was taken by ambulance last week to Newham General Hospital for C.O.P.D difficulties. I waited over 14 hours for an ambulance to take me home and the doctor (at the hospital) wrote to my GP with recommendations. (On the 8th March) yesterday 24th March as I hadn’t heard anything at all from my GP or surgery, I telephoned to request what was happening. I was told that an appointment had been made for me to see someone in April (no date or time) and a few hours later, someone posted two boxes of tablets through my letterbox with no contact or instructions from the pharmacy or G.P. As I was already on 8 steroid tablets (hospital prescribing take every morning) and one of the boxes posted through my letterbox were the same (labeled 6 tablets every morning) if I had taken those as well then I would have overdosed taking 14 tablets in one day. I feel that it has now become dangerous for me to stay at this surgery, It must say something that a 75 year old person is forced through circumstances to change G.P’s. Which is what I have done.

BadAppalling Clinical and Administrative Incompetence
I have been a "patient" of the Highgrove Practice for some 30 months now, which has persistently tested MY patience !. Throughout my association with the Practice I have suffered repeated unreasonable delays and outright mistakes in the arrangement of appointments and referrals- with the Practice, NOT I, failing to keep a number of appointments. I have also received, on more than one occasion, seriously incorrect diagnoses, not to mention referrals for interventions which my general health render unsuitable. I have already had to lodge at least three formal complaints - and have just embarked on my fourth. I've received more apologies than I can count, each one accompanied by an assurance that feedback will be acted on to improve service and outcome - BUT nothing ever changes ! I am now looking into moving my healthcare management to a different Practice. Meanwhile, my advice to anyone thinking of signing up to this Practice is....DON'T !!!

Deceptive doctor dismisses patient's health concerns
I had been a patient at this clinic for an extended period. My sole requirement was a general practitioner to authorize my medication for rheumatoid arthritis, which remained unresolved. Suddenly, Garcia diagnoses me with diabetes without conducting any tests. Moreover, I was previously informed at the hospital that I was not diabetic and should avoid the medication due to potential dangerous interactions with my existing prescriptions. It seems Garcia only provides approval if you complete his questionnaires and undergo tests, presumably to increase his earnings. When you don't comply, he arbitrarily removes your RA medication without notification. He has taken an oath to care for patients, but that's nothing short of laughable. My advice: abandon this practice immediately.

ExcellentGreat consultation
Ever since I was young I’ve been battling with indigestion and never wanted to go to the GP because I feared they will just write it off as just bad diet. However, I was persuaded by my mum to go and I’m glad I did. I was consulted by Dr Gurlal Jagdev who listened and diagnosed me with IBS. He gave me advice on how to calm flare ups and how I can manage my diet with medicines to reduce the discomfort. I am truly grateful for his compassion and would recommend.

For years I’ve been complaining about throbbing headaches. After constant headaches and constant referrals, it got to the point I gave up any hope of peace. Eventually, I had an appointment with Dr Gurlal Jagdev at Highgrove Surgery who listened with empathy, gave me advice and helped me to realise what was going on. He was the first doctor I felt really listened to my complaints without rushing me and just seeing me as just another patient. I am truly grateful for him and hope he gets the recognition he deserves.

Frustrating medical care wastes patients time and money
After having my blood test appointment canceled twice—initially during the summer and again today—I'm extremely frustrated. I had to use a precious vacation day for nothing, which is incredibly inconvenient. I'm left questioning the value of my insurance coverage when such unreliable service is provided. Their customer support is completely unacceptable.

Rude receptionist ruins medical appointment experience
I encountered an incredibly unprofessional receptionist during my visit. Despite arriving 20 minutes early for my appointment, I was asked to sit and wait. After an hour, I noticed other patients being seen while I remained seated. When I approached the desk to inquire, she claimed my son's name had been called, which I knew was incorrect. She insisted the name was the same, but I could clearly see the displayed name was completely different, even the surname did not match. When I tried to clarify the error, she continued to argue that the names were similar in pronunciation. Eventually, she informed me that the doctor who was supposed to see my son had already left. I was told to return the next day, forcing me to waste an entire hour and return home with my 5-month-old baby without receiving any medical attention. The irony is not lost on me that if I had been the one running late, they would have immediately demanded I reschedule my appointment.

Mixed experience: Great reception, rushed appointments
I recently had a delightful experience interacting with the reception staff at this medical practice, particularly with Zainab (I hope I've spelled her name correctly), whose kindness stood out. Her warm demeanor left a lasting impression. However, I've noticed that during some consultations with my assigned physician, the appointments feel rushed, leaving me with a sense that my concerns weren't fully addressed. This isn't a universal issue, as I've found other doctors within the practice to be more thorough. Reflecting on my previous GP, I recall feeling that they took more time to delve into my health matters, providing a more comprehensive approach to patient care.

Frustrating healthcare experience with endless waiting times
Scheduling an appointment at this medical practice is incredibly frustrating. No matter how early you contact them, you're looking at a minimum two-week wait to see a physician. The extended delay in getting a medical consultation is unacceptable and potentially detrimental to patients' health.

Delayed care turns medical concern into frustration
I've been struggling with significant discomfort, so I consulted my physician via phone, and they advised me to come in for an examination since they suspect something needs checking. However, the earliest available appointment is a staggering 13 days away. It's completely ridiculous.

Lengthy wait times and poor appointment system
I've experienced significant frustration with the service provided. Attempting to schedule an appointment consistently results in being informed of no availability for 6-10 days, with the suggestion to seek emergency care instead. It's disheartening that they can't accommodate patients sooner, especially considering the relief from pain that a timely appointment could provide. The inability to secure a reasonable time slot is extremely disappointing and leaves much to be desired in terms of patient care and satisfaction.

Rude nurse mars otherwise positive clinic visit
The front desk staff exhibited commendable courtesy and professionalism. However, my experience with the nurse, Stella, was deeply disappointing, especially considering the appointment was for my young child. Her failure to even greet or acknowledge my child created an unwelcoming atmosphere. Furthermore, Stella's lack of eye contact while addressing me, coupled with her overall demeanor, conveyed impatience, time constraints, and a complete absence of etiquette or bedside manner. Had this appointment been for myself rather than my child, I would have undoubtedly left and cancelled. It's disheartening to encounter a healthcare professional who seems to lack any passion or empathy for their chosen field.

Disappointing visit to Dr. Kanom at Highgrove
I recently visited Highgrove Surgery for a consultation with Dr. Samima Kanom regarding my persistent sinus issues. Upon describing my symptoms, which included severe headaches, body aches, and discomfort around my eyes and nasal area, I was taken aback by her response. Rather than conducting a thorough examination or offering professional advice, she simply inquired about my preferred course of action. It was particularly concerning that she neglected to check for nasal polyps, which seemed like a crucial step given my complaints. Her apparent lack of medical knowledge and inability to provide proper guidance left me feeling frustrated and questioning her qualifications. This experience has significantly diminished my confidence in the care provided at this facility. On a more positive note, I must commend the receptionist for her exceptional service. Her cheerful demeanor, willingness to assist, and friendly attitude towards all patients were truly commendable and stood in stark contrast to my disappointing interaction with the doctor.

Shocking rudeness at reception desk
The front desk staff displayed an astonishing level of discourtesy. In all my years, I've yet to encounter such an egregious lack of professionalism and basic manners. The receptionist's behavior was truly unprecedented in its rudeness, leaving me utterly shocked and dismayed.
