It used to be simple to schedule a consultation, but now the practice is swamped. The front desk staff lacks professionalism, asks intrusive questions, and speaks so loudly that your personal details echo throughout the entire waiting room. My physician is excellent, yet securing a slot with him has become nearly impossible, regardless of the circumstances.

I recently called the medical practice to schedule a consultation and was able to secure an appointment with the physician for tomorrow. The receptionist I interacted with was incredibly supportive and understanding. About three weeks prior, I had reached out to the surgery regarding another matter, and it was resolved within just three days. I have been a patient at this practice for as long as I can recall, and I have no desire to seek medical care elsewhere.

Since switching to this medical practice, my healthcare experience has dramatically improved! Previously, I was registered with bridge surgery, and their service was completely unsatisfactory. At hillview, I've found a stark contrast - they've been responsive and accommodating in ways my former practice never was. I've successfully scheduled appointments that bridge would consistently decline, and on multiple occasions, hillview has proactively booked doctor call-backs well in advance. For instance, last week I called on Tuesday and secured a Friday appointment, and today I've repeated that same smooth process. My first prescription request was handled perfectly, with all medications and dosages precisely correct - something bridge surgery failed to achieve over seven long years. Overall, my initial experience with hillview has been thoroughly positive and reassuring :)

Dangerous incompetence at hillview medical centre

If I could award fewer than one star, I would. Hillview is essentially a medical facility devoid of actual physicians. Getting a consultation with a doctor is an immense challenge, with patients routinely being redirected to paramedics or even the practice administrator! My medical concerns were dismissed and minimized, with staff flippantly stating 'we can't resolve everything' - and just four hours later, I found myself in an ambulance, critically ill and hospitalized. My experience is not an isolated incident; numerous relatives and acquaintances have encountered comparable substandard treatment. It would have made an excellent epitaph- 'We can't fix everything' - Hillview Medical Centre

Terrible service from unhelpful medical reception staff

The entire surgical experience was deeply unsatisfactory, primarily due to the discourteous and pompous front desk personnel, rather than the medical professionals. They seem to take delight in rigidly enforcing a narrow booking window between 8 and 1, effectively shutting down any communication attempts outside those hours. They must recognize that key workers like myself cannot always align our schedules with their restrictive operating times, and in fact, the practice should be adapting to accommodate patient needs. It appears they've forgotten their fundamental purpose: serving the local community during times of medical necessity. Nobody willingly seeks out a GP visit unless it's absolutely critical, especially in these extraordinary circumstances.

I find myself thoroughly disheartened by my experience with this medical practice. While the physicians are truly exceptional, the front desk personnel are incredibly discourteous. When I attempted to secure an urgent consultation in the afternoon, accommodating my morning work schedule, I was met with unhelpful resistance. Upon inquiring about potentially calling 111 for same-day medical attention, the receptionist was abrasively dismissive, insisting I must telephone during morning hours. Her tone was brusque when explaining a potential doctor's callback, completely disregarding the seriousness of my symptoms. Had I followed her advice and waited until morning, my medical condition could have significantly deteriorated. In my view, the administrative staff urgently need to develop better interpersonal skills and demonstrate more compassionate, patient-centered communication.

I'm growing increasingly exasperated, having been unwell for weeks and constantly having to phone repeatedly seeking an appointment. My respiratory issues persist, yet I'm unable to secure a medical consultation or asthma assessment. While I recognize the current challenges, I cannot believe I'm the sole individual struggling to access necessary medical care. They assigned me an asthma diagnosis, which I challenged. I suffered a workplace injury in a retail environment and consulted Dr Magara. Despite providing a comprehensive account of my incident, she appeared utterly disengaged. When the insurance company requested medical documentation, she erroneously documented my injury as a road traffic accident, which was completely incorrect. As a direct consequence of her careless reporting, I was forced to forfeit my compensation claim.

I am utterly appalled by this medical centre's approach to patient care. Their primary focus seems to be financial constraints rather than genuine patient support. They denied a prescription for a controlled medication without any empathy for my situation, leaving me to struggle through withdrawals and desperately seek help. It's unacceptable that I had to beg a physician to prevent my suffering. Some doctors here are so dismissive they won't even acknowledge patients or listen to their concerns - a fact recently confirmed when hospital notes were found completely inaccurate. My established pain management plan was arbitrarily changed solely due to cost considerations, making me feel like a mere financial calculation rather than a human being. My specialist's recommendations were completely disregarded. The reception staff are discourteous, though I must commend the pharmaceutical team who remain professional. Hillview should be ashamed of their approach, which seems designed to intimidate and minimize patients already enduring significant challenges. Their conduct is so poor that I am actively seeking alternative medical care. Anyone considering this surgery should be warned: avoid this place entirely.
