Patient feedback reveals a stark contrast between the quality of clinical care and significant access barriers. Medical professionals, including doctors and nursing staff, are consistently described as compassionate, supportive, and professional. Reception staff performance is similarly mixed, with some patients praising courtesy and helpfulness, while others report dismissive attitudes and poor communication. However, these positive interactions are substantially overshadowed by widespread frustration with appointment availability and booking systems.
Patients report extreme difficulty reaching the practice by phone, with extended waiting periods for consultations extending weeks or months ahead. The online booking system is described as broken, and attempts to schedule routine appointments have become a persistent source of complaint. Communication gaps, inconsistent reception experiences, and concerns about staff turnover further compound access challenges. While the clinical care experience remains valued, the practice's inability to provide timely access to services represents a critical service gap that significantly impacts patient satisfaction and confidence in the overall service delivery.

Bad!
Endless calls and zero hope for medical help
What was once a pleasant healthcare experience has deteriorated significantly since the pandemic. Securing an appointment has become an incredibly challenging ordeal. Unless you're connected instantaneously, your prospects of reaching anyone are virtually nonexistent. I personally dialed the contact number a staggering 118 times starting from 8 am before finally connecting with the reception desk. Upon getting through, patients must first justify their medical condition to a receptionist, who then arbitrarily determines whether you'll be directed to a doctor, paramedic, or nurse. The practice has eliminated pre-bookable appointments, walk-in options, and traditional waiting room services. The overwhelming sense of frustration stems from having a medical practice where the physician seems perpetually unavailable.

Biased practice manager ruins patient care experience
Absolutely appalling experience with this medical practice! The practice manager displayed clear bias, removing me from the surgery after my separation, using a false pretext that I don't reside in the area. Despite presenting valid identification and my rental agreement, I was forcibly ejected. My complaints were dismissed, with the excuse that they needed space for patients from new housing developments, completely disregarding existing patients. It's outrageous! Dr. Rai and his wife are essentially the only reason this surgery continues to function; without them, I doubt patients would remain registered. The staff appear terrified to assist or take any action without management's approval, which is shocking for a public service. Even the employees seem afraid. I strongly advise avoiding this place if you want to prevent critical appointment delays and navigate through their constant staff and doctor turnover. The rapid rotation of medical professionals is a clear red flag indicating serious underlying issues with the practice's management and working environment.

Frustrating healthcare with impossible appointment booking
Scheduling an appointment here is a nightmarish ordeal. The phone lines are perpetually jammed, and even after countless attempts, securing a slot feels like winning a lottery. When you miraculously get through, you're often met with voicemail or unavailability. The online booking system is broken, adding another layer of frustration. While some staff members are genuinely helpful and kind, others seem deliberately unhelpful. The practice appears completely overwhelmed by the area's rapid population growth, showing no signs of adapting or expanding their capacity. What was once a mediocre experience has now deteriorated to an absolute nightmare, prompting me to drop my rating to the lowest possible level.

Lauren makes medical visits a total joy
I've been a patient at this medical practice for slightly more than two years. I want to highlight that their Receptionist Lauren is absolutely delightful. Her cheerful demeanor is evident from the moment she picks up the phone, which makes a huge difference when you're feeling unwell and down. I can honestly say I've never encountered such a welcoming approach at any other general practice. The doctors have also consistently been supportive and kind. My sincere appreciation. UPDATE: Regrettably, we ultimately decided to switch practices because the new Reception staff and management were extremely discourteous.

Terrible service avoid this medical practice
The medical practice is disorganized, with no available consultation slots, making it practically pointless to seek an appointment—you're better off visiting the emergency room or a drop-in clinic.

Nightmare customer service with impossible phone queue
Getting through to a receptionist is like playing a high-stakes game of chance. You're forced to start dialing at 7:59 AM, and from there, it's pure luck. I've already made 204 attempts this morning, and I'm still desperately trying to get through.

Empowering health journey through menopause support clinic
I participated in a menopause workshop last weekend, and it was incredibly enlightening and supportive for women's wellness. After the presentation, I was fortunate to consult with Dr. Hoyle personally, which proved immensely helpful in evaluating my hormone replacement therapy. This resource is truly invaluable, and I'm grateful such a service exists for women like myself. I cannot emphasize enough how worthwhile it is to attend this clinic.

Confusing hours and poor communication at clinic
Utterly perplexing situation here. I attempted to contact the general practitioner's office at 3:45 PM, only to be greeted by a message stating they're already shut, despite their website clearly indicating a closing time of 6:30 PM. Can someone explain what's going on at Hollies Medical Centre?!

Reliable medical care for all your health needs
It's a medical practice where healthcare professionals care for both genuinely ill patients and those overly anxious about their health.

Disappointing decline of once great medical practice
Once a top-notch practice, now overwhelmed by administrative personnel, making it nearly impossible to secure a consultation, either in person or via telephone. Having been a patient for over three decades, I am reluctantly parting ways with this medical center.

Frustrating experience with halewood medical practice
I've been a resident of Halewood for some time, and I've consistently struggled to secure an appointment. While I'm certain the staff are pleasant, the typical response is: "Your appointment is scheduled for Thursday, 2089." As a result, I've repeatedly been forced to use the walk-in clinic. Update: I finally managed to speak with someone, and contrary to my hopes, they were far from friendly. The receptionist's attitude was incredibly off-putting, as if I had personally offended her. Predictably, I'm back to relying on the walk-in service.

Terrible service from uncaring doctors at hollies road
My frail, aging Father rang up with what seems to be a respiratory infection, requesting a home visit as he's barely mobile. The response: "We don't do home visits" and instructions to call back tomorrow at 8.00. Doctors who refuse home visits? Completely ridiculous. I know someone whose wife is a GP who worked tirelessly throughout lockdown, seeing patients and conducting home visits. It appears Hollies Road is focused on maximizing patient numbers. They receive government funding for each patient registered. The era of GPs genuinely caring about patients more than their earnings is long gone. I've just received notification that they will no longer accept prescription requests via phone. These must now be submitted online or through a smartphone. Considering most repeat prescription patients are elderly, this will undoubtedly create significant challenges for them. It seems their goal is to minimize direct human interaction. They maintained telephone consultations well after lockdown ended and continue in the same manner. Securing appointments or even getting through on the phone will become even more difficult once the new housing developments around Lower Lane are completed. They'll certainly be taking on more patients Despite being unable to provide adequate service to existing patients - but hey, it's all about maximizing doctors' profits these days. p.s. some of the positive reviews look suspiciously like they've been written by staff or associates of the medical centre.

Frustrating healthcare system that needs serious improvement
Trying to secure a medical appointment feels like an impossible task. The daily morning ritual of endless phone calls - ring, ring, ring - 28 attempts later, you might finally get through, only to be told all slots are already taken. This frustrating cycle repeats the next day. Why is it so complicated to schedule a non-urgent appointment a few days or even a week in advance? The current system is completely ineffective. Patients who are unwell deserve a straightforward way to address their health concerns, not this absurd and time-consuming process. Someone needs to seriously review and improve this broken appointment booking method.
