I have attended this practice on two occasions and both visits were excellent. The reception team and clinical staff were attentive, took their time with me, and provided the support I required. I would strongly recommend this surgery to others. The car parking facilities are convenient and there is a well-maintained pharmacy located on site.

Receptionist cancelled appointment without proper follow-up
I have been attending this practice since childhood and have generally been satisfied with my care over the years. However, my recent experience has been disappointing. Approximately three weeks ago, I requested an appointment and informed the receptionist of potential urinary symptoms. Due to a communication issue with my phone when the practice attempted to contact me, my appointment was cancelled. I was advised that the next available slot would not be until late June. I subsequently contacted NHS 111, and a clinician provided me with antibiotics. A week later, a similar situation occurred and the practice issued a repeat prescription for antibiotics. Unfortunately, these did not resolve my symptoms. The following Thursday, I experienced severe pain during the night and attended the accident and emergency department, where I was diagnosed with a kidney stone and remained there for several hours. I feel that had I been able to see a clinician in person at my initial appointment, a more thorough assessment could have been conducted and my condition might have been identified earlier. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with the care I received during this period.

Long waits and unfriendly phone appointments
Avoid. They are accepting new patients despite struggling to manage their current patient list. It took 2.5 weeks to secure a phone appointment, and the clinical staff were not particularly welcoming. As someone who contributes through taxation, I would expect to be offered a face-to-face appointment within a week. I am considering switching practices. If you take your healthcare seriously, this may not be the right choice for you.

Impossible to book appointments despite friendly staff
The staff members here are genuinely excellent, which is the only reason this review reflects a positive aspect at all. Obtaining an appointment is extremely challenging, and when one becomes available it tends to be conducted over the phone. Even before the pandemic, the practice appeared to operate with insufficient staffing levels. Staff would regularly mention that recruitment for GPs was ongoing. Despite operating with limited resources, the practice continued to accept new patient registrations, which seemed counterintuitive. Existing patients faced lengthy waits spanning several months for appointments while the patient roster expanded. Following the departure of several experienced practitioners and some longer-serving junior doctors, accessing a consistent GP has become increasingly difficult. Appointments are typically with locum doctors or advanced nurse practitioners instead. Even in the post-pandemic period, appointment availability remains problematic. It has proven nearly impossible to see a regular GP. Since January, I have needed to access out-of-hours services on six separate occasions due to inability to secure a practice appointment. Additionally, I experienced a wait exceeding four weeks for an x-ray result to reach the practice. The value of being registered with a GP is questionable when every medical need results in referral to out-of-hours services. The practice would benefit from recruiting additional GPs rather than expanding reception staff numbers. A family member registered with this surgery due to its convenient location. They withdrew their registration after two months and returned to their previous practice, primarily because securing appointments proved impossible. They mentioned that despite their former GP being geographically further away, appointments could typically be arranged within a few days. I am seriously contemplating switching to a different GP practice.
