Feedback reveals a practice struggling significantly with appointment access and communication, with persistent challenges in booking availability, extended phone waiting times, and reception responsiveness creating substantial barriers to care. Patients report difficulty reaching the practice through both phone and online channels, with many experiencing dropped calls, unavailable appointment slots, and inconsistent information from staff. The e-consultation system is frequently cited as non-functional or inaccessible, and reception staff conduct is described as discourteous and unhelpful in multiple accounts.
Despite these systemic administrative difficulties, positive feedback indicates that when patients do access medical professionals, clinical care quality is generally strong. Nursing staff and doctors are frequently praised for compassion, professionalism, and thorough attention to patient needs. Several patients note that the medical team demonstrates genuine commitment to patient wellbeing and provides attentive, evidence-based care.
The gap between clinical excellence and administrative dysfunction emerges as a defining pattern. Patients acknowledge that the practice's medical professionals deliver good care, yet the appointment booking process, reception experience, and communication systems create frustration that undermines confidence in the service overall. Continuity issues, lack of responsiveness to complaints, and organizational disarray are cited alongside recognition that individual staff members occasionally provide exceptional support.

Terrible GP with Unhelpful Receptionists
I cannot endorse this general practitioner. The front desk staff are discourteous and completely unhelpful. Scheduling an appointment is incredibly challenging, involving a frustrating 40-minute wait on hold, after which the staff remain unresponsive to any questions. Rather than properly booking me in, they arbitrarily prescribed medication over the phone without conducting a proper examination or understanding my specific medical condition and potential health risks.

Caring GPs Who Work Past Closing Time
This GP practice boasts an outstanding team of General Practitioners (Dr Mustafa, Dr Longwill, Dr Shah, Dr Green, Dr Gishkori and others) and Allied Health Professionals, including Barbara and Lindsey. The doctors demonstrate genuine compassion and will extend themselves to communicate with patients, provide information, and deliver top-tier medical assistance (even beyond their standard 7pm closing hours!). The reception team, comprising Debbie, Claire, Nurjahan and colleagues, are exceptional. Throughout the Pandemic and its aftermath, the Practice remained operational, and despite numerous obstacles, their patient care standards never wavered. They consistently welcome patient feedback and actively work to enhance their person-centered healthcare approach. For nearly 15 years, I have experienced nothing but excellent care. If only more people understood the extraordinary efforts this team makes while navigating the increasing challenges within the NHS. My deepest gratitude for your unwavering commitment to me and my family.

Nurse Billy helped me turn things around
Initially, my previous critique was harshly critical, but I must acknowledge that progress is happening rapidly. Once you become familiar with the updated procedures, everything runs smoothly. Billy, a male nurse, is absolutely fantastic. The situation is definitely getting better. Appreciation goes out to the team.

Quick e-consult to morning appointment
I have absolutely no complaints about Islandhealth. The process of submitting an e-consult and securing a face-to-face appointment the very next morning was seamless. The reception team consistently demonstrates helpfulness, and Dr. Syed was notably professional and meticulous in their approach. My sincere appreciation goes out to Islandhealth.

Doctors Failed Me Completely
Utterly abysmal. The complete absence of compassion, professionalism, and basic human decency among these employees guarantees their ultimate spiritual and professional ruin. Divine judgment awaits them. Their management requires immediate restructuring with principles of integrity, respect, and genuine care. Their work performance is equally deplorable - these medical professionals perpetually seem unreachable. Such profound incompetence merits reduced compensation. Complete frauds. They demonstrate a total lack of emotional intelligence and human connection, harboring numerous critical deficiencies. Their fundamental incompetence risks devastating consequences for patients' families, revealing their profound moral bankruptcy and self-centered nature. Absolutely worthless individuals.

Cold Wait Turned into Frustrating Disconnect
Endured a wait exceeding three-quarters of an hour until the call disconnected on its own. Completely unacceptable, particularly during the winter season when respiratory illnesses can pose serious health risks.

Worst Healthcare Experience I've Ever Had
Absolutely TERRIBLE. The employees demonstrate complete indifference to patients' concerns and exhibit extreme self-centeredness. They consistently ignore incoming calls and fail to address the very problems you've sought help for. Their response is to lazily forward NHS website links, as if we haven't already thoroughly explored those resources.

Azim Saved the Day After Staff Dropped the Ball
The service quality was subpar from the start. The receptionist claimed she would submit a medication replacement request for my daughter at 10am, but failed to do so, causing us significant distress. By 4pm, I discovered that no request had been made or even documented. Kudos to Azim for swiftly resolving the issue. Without Azim's professionalism, my daughter could have experienced serious consequences due to staff incompetence. I regret not obtaining the original staff member's name, as I would have pursued a formal complaint. Once more, I extend my gratitude to Azim.

Long Wait Times at Island Health Clinic
I've endured up to 45-minute phone waits with Island Health, stuck in a queue of 10 callers, which is completely unacceptable. Even worse, after finally connecting, I discover no appointments are available. I've been directed to use their online Triage system, which has yielded some results, but my current physician refuses to provide the additional prescription I desperately need for the chronic pain I've been experiencing since August 2022, and it's now October 2022. Given the extensive suffering I've undergone in recent months, I firmly believe there must be more effective pain management alternatives.

Booking a GP Appointment? Good Luck
I joined this medical practice around four years ago upon moving to London, primarily due to its proximity to my residence and my landlady's recommendation. According to my understanding, after registration, I should have been invited for a comprehensive health assessment and blood tests to establish a complete medical record, but this never occurred. I simply completed some paperwork and was done. While initially this wasn't problematic, seeking a GP appointment has now become virtually impossible. The practice appears to be exploiting the pandemic as a pretext to avoid patient care. Attempting to book an appointment in person results in reception staff turning you away, claiming they're fully booked and directing you to online or phone booking. However, their website is a non-functional relic seemingly frozen since the pandemic's start, riddled with dead or circular links. The Patient Access app confirms no online booking availability. Phone booking means enduring endless queue times, perpetually positioned as the tenth caller, with minimal chance of connection. I've experienced instances where my queue position inexplicably fluctuated. Reception staff falsely claimed online booking was restricted to 7-10 am, which I've repeatedly found untrue. Even if you miraculously secure a consultation, it'll likely be a phone call with minimal chance of an in-person meeting. Only twice have I successfully reached someone, both during emergencies. One required contacting 111 to prompt GP intervention for a shingles prescription. Another involved a stomach virus where the GP merely suggested dietary adjustments, potentially prolonging my suffering. The practice appears deserted, with just two or three reception staff present, contradicting claims of being overwhelmingly busy and unable to schedule appointments. My current health issues are impacting my work, forcing time off. My employers find it unbelievable that I cannot consult a GP. While understanding NHS funding challenges, using pandemic restrictions as an ongoing excuse for avoiding face-to-face consultations post-normalization is absurd. Healthcare is a fundamental human right; if accessing medical care becomes impossible, the purpose of public healthcare becomes questionable. I've never previously written a negative review, but this situation is so egregious that I feel compelled to highlight these concerns.

Dr Daniel's Terrible Phone Consultation
I am thoroughly appalled by the substandard service I received. Dr. Daniel displayed a complete lack of professionalism, appearing clueless about medical protocols and recklessly prescribing medication without discussing potential adverse reactions. Upon raising my concerns, he abruptly terminated our phone conversation. It is incomprehensible to me how such unprofessional medical treatment can be permitted. Update: following this distressing experience, I reached out to file a complaint, and a compassionate staff member named Lisa addressed my concerns with genuine care. She diligently ensured I would receive a follow-up appointment and successfully alleviated my distress. I am deeply grateful for her support and attentive listening. Xxx thank you xxx

Period Pain Frustration at Unhelpful Clinic
I sought medical assistance for menstrual discomfort during my initial visit, anticipating consultation with a healthcare professional for pain management. However, the front desk personnel proved entirely unaccommodating. They claimed all physicians were fully scheduled and suggested I seek treatment at walk-in facilities. It's absolutely ridiculous that in an urgent scenario where a doctor would require mere minutes, they dismissed me without even consulting the medical staff. Their demeanor was thoroughly unsympathetic and unhelpful! I am profoundly dissatisfied with the reception team's lack of compassion and support!!

Terrible Phone System Wastes Patients' Time
Scheduling an appointment here is utterly ridiculous. The phone lines are perpetually jammed, and the online consultation system is unreliable at best. Even when you manage to submit an e-consult, the physicians disregard your preferred contact times, calling during work hours when you explicitly requested otherwise—completely inconsiderate of professionals with inflexible schedules. They desperately need to expand their reception staff. Countless times I've been first in the queue, only to have the call drop after enduring over an hour of waiting, leaving me frustrated and without assistance. Serious improvements are needed. Their current service standard is completely unacceptable.

Impossible to Get a GP Appointment Nowadays
It's been incredibly frustrating trying to secure a doctor's appointment. The current consultation process is ridiculous - when you call the medical practice, you're stuck as caller number 9 in an endless queue. The whole system is absurd. COVID is over, so they need to improve their appointment scheduling immediately. I'm completely exhausted with this situation.
