A fairly substantial facility. Made my initial visit for occupational health purposes. The building itself is pleasant, though accessing it by vehicle can be challenging due to congestion in the area.

The self-service station for contraceptive medication reviews is an excellent initiative! I was able to complete my weight measurement, check my blood pressure, complete the necessary paperwork and finish everything in approximately 10 minutes! The process was straightforward and efficient, and it helps free up appointment availability for other patients who may need them more urgently!

Reception blocked appointment access for vulnerable patient

My father, aged 64, has a significant cardiovascular condition. During a routine six-month appointment with a clinician, he communicated that he has been experiencing considerable unwellness recently, which has resulted in several falls. The response to his concerns was dismissive, and no vital signs were recorded during the consultation. When he subsequently attempted to arrange a follow-up appointment at reception, he was informed that non-urgent slots are not currently available. He was advised to telephone each morning, though was cautioned that appointments may not be obtainable and calls may not connect. He was then suggested to attend the surgery in person daily, despite being 64 with a serious heart condition, with the surgery being a mile away, in the hope of being seen. It feels concerning that such a serious health situation is not being treated with appropriate urgency. One worries about what level of deterioration would be required before proper medical attention is provided.

Reception staff didn't look up from desks

Three stars because the clinician was excellent, genuinely attentive and provided meaningful support with my health concern. I deducted two stars due to the initial experience upon arrival at the practice, which was disappointing. The reception staff engaged with me without making eye contact or offering a friendly demeanor, and their manner felt dismissive when I needed clarification about a procedural matter. However, the clinician was outstanding and made the two week wait for the appointment worthwhile.
