Unsympathetic staff left me in pain and misery

I received my repeat prescription 6 days later than usual, which typically arrives at month's end. During this period, I accidentally misplaced my medication while at the gym. Despite being a long-standing patient at this surgery for over a decade, and having only previously lost medication once, the doctor refused to provide a replacement. I felt completely disbelieved and unheard. Experiencing significant pain, I repeatedly attempted to communicate with the receptionist to request the doctor reconsider. However, the reception staff appeared mechanical and utterly devoid of compassion. One receptionist was particularly unpleasant and confrontational, and they consistently seem rushed, making patients feel hurried during interactions. Throughout the entire month, I was without pain medication. When I attempted to order my regular repeat prescription, I was informed I must wait until April 3rd. This delay seems deliberately cruel, knowing I'm in pain and have already been without medication. Their lack of empathy is astounding. If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I will absolutely file a formal complaint with the ombudsman. The service has been appallingly insensitive, and I'm certain I'm not the only patient to have experienced such treatment in over a decade. Furthermore, one doctor claims to have known me for over 10 years - which is completely false. He has likely known me for barely a year, and it's alarming that a medical professional would make such a blatant misrepresentation. I'm also frustrated that I'm restricted to four tablets daily, which is insufficient. Some days require more medication due to increased pain, while other days I must go without. This approach feels fundamentally unfair, and I feel powerless against these restrictive medical protocols.

The receptionist's demeanor was somewhat cold, which I could have overlooked, but the doctor's approach was even more disappointing. When I explained my discomfort, she seemed indifferent to my ongoing back pain history. Her sole response was to scribble a prescription for painkillers and suggest some back exercises. I left the clinic feeling frustrated and still experiencing significant pain, with no real sense of being heard or properly examined.

Terrible service from blond receptionist, great help from brunette

The initial interaction with the blonde-haired receptionist was frustrating. She appeared hostile and seemed completely disengaged from her professional responsibilities. Despite my repeated requests, she neglected to verify my address accurately. Thankfully, a brunette colleague intervened and swiftly addressed my issue within mere moments. Her quick and efficient help was truly appreciated.

No care or consideration from reception

Turned up early for appointment. No parking. Tried calling on phone waited 15 mins. Finally got a space. By this time 8 mins late. Man in front asking about registering struggling a bit with language barrier. Receptionist ignored me while I was obviously waiting to check in. I had to interrupt aware I was a bit late. Was told minutes later will have to reschedule now. Told to maybe come a bit earlier next time! Errrr I was early this time! Seems to think we patients have nothing else to do all day?

I was registered at this medical practice for approximately 4 years until relocating. The entire experience was consistently frustrating, particularly regarding appointments and interactions. The reception staff were notably discourteous and confrontational. Given Coventry's multicultural environment, not all patients are familiar with NHS procedures, yet inquiries were often met with dismissive attitudes and condescending remarks like "you should know". Securing appointments was challenging, and emergency same-day consultations were virtually impossible. Upon changing surgeries, I immediately noticed the stark difference in appointment booking quality. The telephone lines were perpetually congested, with wait times routinely exceeding 30 minutes. While numerous GPs worked at this practice, their quality varied significantly. Dr Wiggins and Dr Newbold stood out as compassionate and attentive professionals who genuinely listened and helped. Conversely, other doctors like Dr Kumar seemed considerably less engaged and empathetic. The nursing staff were comparatively better - kind and receptive. During my pregnancy, care was generally satisfactory, though the consistent rotation of midwives was somewhat unsettling. Ultimately, I would categorically not recommend this medical centre to any family member or friend, and I feel immense relief having escaped the persistent administrative challenges.
