Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a significantly divided experience at this practice, with stark contrasts between clinical and administrative services. Medical staff, nursing teams, and clinical procedures consistently receive praise for professionalism, compassion, and clinical competence. However, appointment access and reception experience emerge as persistent problem areas, with patients reporting prolonged waiting times on phone lines, difficulty securing consultations, and inconsistent courtesy from front desk staff. The booking system presents particular challenges, with complaints about limited availability, inflexible scheduling that disadvantages working professionals, and unreliable online platforms. Communication gaps between departments and delayed prescription processing have also been noted across multiple reviews.

When patients successfully access clinical care, they frequently describe positive interactions with doctors and nursing staff who demonstrate attentiveness and genuine concern. Several reviews highlight efficient procedures, thorough assessments, and supportive team approaches during consultations. The practice environment itself is often described as clean and well-maintained. However, the difficulty in reaching appointments and variable reception courtesy create a significant barrier to care that undermines otherwise strong clinical service delivery. This disparity suggests that operational and administrative improvements could substantially enhance the overall patient experience without compromising the quality of clinical care already being provided.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs

The front desk personnel are appalling in their handling of phone communications, and the online booking system is a nightmare. I've been attempting to schedule an appointment for nearly a month, but it's perpetually unavailable or disabled. When I called to report a severe medication reaction, they were completely unhelpful, instructing me to call back the next morning at 8:30. Upon explaining that I was driving at the time, they dismissively stated they couldn't assist me, which is absolutely unacceptable. If you're considering registering with this medical practice, I strongly advise against it and recommend seeking care elsewhere.

Frustrating and inefficient healthcare experience

Scheduling a consultation is exclusively web-based! You're required to complete an online form, and they take up to a day to reply. Their response typically directs you to a nearby pharmacy or provides a booking link. The earliest available appointment slot was four weeks out, which was unacceptable given my discomfort. As a result, I've switched healthcare providers and cannot endorse this medical practice.

Worst doctor ever rude and dismissive

This review pertains to a GP, Dr. Fatima Gillani, whom I recently consulted, and it was an absolutely dreadful encounter. I'm dealing with a shoulder injury and severe tennis elbow, but more critically, my mental health is at stake. (I have a longstanding history of mental health challenges) Consider that I've previously received private healthcare through work, where an arm specialist definitively concluded my tennis elbow was a severe case likely requiring surgery and physiotherapy. This doctor performed a few range-of-motion tests and elbow presses, then casually declared, "yeah that's healed". I experience daily pain that intensifies dramatically with exertion! She claims no inflammation means healing, which I argued contradicts a specialist's professional assessment. She then impatiently told me, "Paul, we need to hurry up, I have other patients!" in an incredibly dismissive tone. This immediately triggered my mental health sensitivities, and I desperately wanted her to explain how three brief movement tests could possibly constitute a comprehensive healing assessment! Regarding my mental health, her approach was shockingly hands-off - she asked ME what I wanted to do, offering zero professional guidance or compassion. I couldn't escape her office quickly enough. At the front desk, while booking a two-week medication review, I informed the staff (who was wonderfully supportive) that I never want to see this GP again. By then, I was publicly weeping, which surely does wonders for my mental well-being! I'm absolutely disgusted by this treatment and believe her professional capabilities should be seriously scrutinized. There are details I cannot fully articulate and would genuinely appreciate management intervention to discuss this matter. Will this be addressed, or merely ignored? I deeply sympathize with anyone forced to interact with Dr. Fatima Gillani, particularly those struggling with mental health issues.

Frustrating online booking system fails seniors

I'm utterly exasperated with the current appointment scheduling process. Not everyone is tech-savvy, and our busy lives make navigating online systems challenging. Invariably, by the time I attempt to secure a slot, all available times have been taken. This approach is completely unhelpful and particularly difficult for senior citizens.

Impossible to schedule an appointment while working

Getting an appointment here is frustratingly difficult! The scheduling system is incredibly inconvenient for working professionals like myself. Since I'm at my job until late morning, I can't even call to book a slot until 10:45, which means all the available times are already gone. It would be so much easier if they offered more flexible booking options for people with standard work hours.

Frustrating booking system drives patients away

Absurd practice requiring online scheduling exclusively. I'm switching healthcare providers due to this inconsiderate approach that completely disregards individuals who might struggle with digital booking methods. Their system is completely impractical and fails to accommodate patients with limited internet access.

Worst medical experience ever with terrible staff

The front desk staff are incredibly discourteous. These wannabe medical professionals attempt to triage patients despite having absolutely no clinical expertise. Heaven forbid you challenge their supposed wisdom, or else... and if you're elderly, they might just dismiss you entirely. The physiotherapist was hands-down the most incompetent practitioner I've ever encountered.

Dangerous doctors delay critical medical treatment

I was previously a patient at this surgery, having attended the old Skegby location where all the current GPs once worked. Throughout 2020, I suffered from numerous debilitating symptoms including mouth ulcers, painful skin rashes, recurring infections, and extreme exhaustion. From April to October, I repeatedly sought medical attention, with my symptoms progressively worsening. The doctor consistently claimed uncertainty and performed no meaningful investigations. He merely prescribed steroid tablets for my mouth ulcers, which proved completely ineffective, yet he continued prescribing them and dismissing my concerns. During one appointment, he bizarrely suggested I "might have a deficiency" and should "eat more carrots" - without conducting any actual deficiency tests. After persistent advocacy, another doctor finally referred me to Kings Mill hospital for comprehensive blood work. Meanwhile, my condition deteriorated dramatically, culminating in hospitalization in December 2020. I was unable to walk, experiencing intense muscle spasms and severe dizziness from the slightest movement. The blood tests ultimately revealed severe, long-untreated anaemia - a condition this negligent practice had ignored for months. The hospital successfully treated me, but this entire ordeal could have been prevented had the initial doctor performed basic diagnostic tests. Additionally, years earlier at their previous location, another doctor misdiagnosed a persistent chest infection as asthma, advising me to simply use my inhaler more frequently. Another physician later confirmed the actual chest infection, explaining my prolonged coughing and unusual phlegm. Furthermore, my mother experienced similar dismissive treatment from the same doctor who overlooked my chest infection. Despite experiencing frequent, severe dizziness, she was aggressively told nothing was wrong. Only after persistently demanding a referral was her vertigo finally diagnosed. If you're considering this GP practice, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Their medical negligence is truly alarming.

Compassionate care from nhs staff truly remarkable

The reception team consistently demonstrates exceptional warmth and competence, displaying genuine kindness and attentiveness. The nursing staff are extraordinary, truly outstanding, highly efficient, supremely professional, and incredibly welcoming. The new digital platform for symptom reporting and receiving medical guidance functions effectively, though I find myself missing direct physician interaction. Having spent significant time in South Africa, where the healthcare infrastructure is critically inadequate, I can confidently say the NHS is PHENOMENAL, and people should never undervalue the incredible resource we have. Believe me, we are incredibly fortunate. Interestingly, despite the systemic challenges, accessing a general practitioner was more straightforward in South Africa. Consequently, I'm not particularly familiar with the doctors, having only encountered them during annual medication assessments. Nevertheless, they were consistently pleasant and cordial.

I recently utilized their Accurix e-consultation service as a first-time patient. ANP Mandy Abbott efficiently handled my medical inquiry, arranging a prescription and providing helpful guidance. She also successfully secured a GP appointment for me within the next week. The doctor, Dr. Gilani (if I recall her name correctly), was attentive to my concerns and provided valuable assistance. Additionally, the receptionist was cordial and helped me schedule a blood test. Overall, I experienced exceptional service throughout my interaction with the practice.

Terrible doctors failed my sick child repeatedly

Every single time I try to schedule an appointment, it's a nightmare. When we actually get seen, it's always late. I brought my premature daughter—born at 35 weeks—in because she was unwell with a persistent cough. During the first visit, they claimed nothing was wrong. The second visit, they said they couldn't help her. Then, shockingly, my daughter ended up hospitalized with bronchiolitis. I absolutely cannot recommend these doctors for children's care. Whenever I bring my three kids here, I'm repeatedly told they're fine and there's no issue, despite clear signs something is wrong.
